Nice modern room, nice bed, nice bathroom, adjoining pub had all the food and drink you could want. Despite the outlook onto a main road and the busy site, it was quite quiet.
A little bit pricey considering it was not a hotel but a lodge adjoining a pub but it was a busy weekend. It suffered from the all too common lack of storage space that would make a multi-night stay a problem. Guests should be aware that, if you book through BOOKING.COM, you do not qualify for the 20% food discount available to those who book direct with Marston Inns. This is only of interest if you eat in and you should compare room prices before making a decision.

Superb location for us. We were visiting a family member who lived nearby, so this was ideal for us. The hotel is separate from the main building which has it's own secure electronic key-card entry system - linked to your room key. Although separate from the main building you are not overlooked by those seated in the restaurant or bar areas. Breakfast was plentiful. Although our reservation did not include the breakfast the additional cost was acceptable; and as I said, plentiful! The rooms are a nice size and clean. Housekeeping do not replenish teas, coffees, milks etc, nor pop in to freshen towels or bedding. But this suited us. I am sure if you asked for housekeeping to pop by during your stay they would. During our stay we experienced no issues, not even traffic noise from the A16 or the garage across the way (our room was facing the carpark on the ground floor). The food 'n' drink prices are reasonable. If there isn't anything on the menu that takes your fancy then there is a garage across the way that house Costa, Subway, and Greggs. There is also a Taco Bell within walking distance, with another unit being constructed during our staff. Must add, we heard no noise from this development either. Check-in was smooth and easy. Although you do need to enter the main building (bar / restaurant area). This premises did have a separate reception / checking in area within the lobby area of the building that contained the rooms, but I am guessing this was stopped due to staffing arrangements. Talking of staff. The staff at the Tulip Queen, Spalding are absolutely amazing! Checkout was really easy too. Once you are ready to leave there is no need to enter the main building. Simply place your key-card in the box found in the entrance lobby to the rooms!
Can't really fault anything about our short stay here (2 nights). If I were to be really picky maybe I could mention more tea, coffee, milks etc in the room. Maybe softer pillows? Extra toilet roll? Seriously, could not fault this place.

The room was spacious and cosy. The bed was big and very comfortable. We had breakfast and 2 evening meals in the bar next door. All excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bar was clean and there was plenty room between the tables. The food arrived in good time and was very good. The Tulip Queen is placed next to the main road for good access and the nearby petrol station is the cheapest around.
The fan in the bathroom seems to make a noise mist if the time. The TV guide had defaulted to Jan 1 1970 😆 However, everything else was so good that it did not detract from a great stay.

I did try to get early check in day before - unsuccessfully- and although room wasn’t ready staff were very helpful as we needed to freshen and change to attend a family funeral. Sorted thanks to them. Room was lovely and clean and well laid out with everything we needed. Breakfast options were good as was food. Overall very nice environment and felt comfortable enough to come back and stay again. Would I stay again? Yes - definitely. Would I recommend? Yes - definitely.
Nothing really. Was bit disappointed when I tried to ring day before stay to request early check in (2pm rather than 3pm) as attending family funeral at 3pm and needed to freshen and change following 4 hour car journey. Did get through to someone and explained but when they put me through to hotel I got cut off - twice. No real problem though as staff were more than helpful.

As i have stayed here on several occasions bed comfort and room cleanliness has never been a concern all as you would expect. Did not have breakfast this time but had breakfast on previous stays and found it to be very good. We did however have an evening meal when we booked in and this was first rate.
There was quite a bit of noise from the service station area with a gathering of boy racers in there parking area if you sleep with the window closed it lessons it a lot but liking fresh air coming into the room it is a bit of a annoyance.

The separation of the rooms from the pub/restaurant was good - noise crossover minimal. The rooms are well proportioned, well equipped and well built so noises from other rooms are little problem.
Your breakfasts didn’t seem to allow for having a cup of coffee and a croissant which after a filling Christmas feast is all you need on Boxing Day! Seriously that’s the reason we went elsewhere for our breakfasts and it applies throughout the year not just at Christmas!

The room was nice and clean and well appointed, as the rooms were in a separate building to the pub next door it was nice and quiet. The location was good as it had excellent access to the nearby main road. The pub next door provided good meals and breakfast at reasonable prices.
I was a little disappointed with the tea/coffee selection provided, No decafe coffee was available and very little sugar obviously this was not noticed when the room was prepared, so I had to use my own. Unfortunately the television was not working properly due to a poor signal.

Room was excellent, smashing bed & shower, comfortable & clean. That's the main issues sorted with. The food at the pub was great, had a carvery twice it was so good. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals too, including breakfast. The staff everywhere in the TQ were fantastic, just needed some support at busy times.
The only slight downer was waiting to order!! I don't mind waiting for meals to come out, I'd prefer a wait as opposed to get food instantly. At busy times there needs to be extra bodies serving, not easy to manage, I know but I'm sure it could be done a bit better?? The staff, under pressure, were top draw, well done to everyone of them!!!

Friendly staff. They'd not got the message about twin beds put on booking.com system, but changed them right away for us. Clean and comfortable room.
Heavy doors on the accessible room makes it less accessible (could adjust the door closer to make easier). The shower head was at the top of rail, not reachable from a wheelchair, fortunately not travelling solo this time. This could be on your cleaners check list. Bathroom light not easily accessible being outside and far side of the door.

Staff and facilities very good. Food very good.
My only issue was not enough staff behind the bar. When it got busy people were ordering the food as well as their drinks and a lot of the time just one person taking the order. So if I just wanted drinks we had to wait to long. I think one person should be taking food orders and another person doing drinks. Apart from that excellent.
