Staff were excellent. Food in the restaurant was outstandingly good.

Room 252 had a velux window. I don’t think that the window was double glazed. Consequently the noise from the traffic outside was very loud and kept us awake.

Bedroom was rather small. Insufficient space for a comfortable chair. However very tastefully furnished. Molten Brown shower gel and shampoo provided. Television reception was very unreliable. Breakfast was very good. We had 2 evening meals and the food was very good. Hotel was in a peaceful spot .8 of a mile outside of Stow, this added to the quietness but a bit of a trek to walk into Stow. There were plenty of comfortable places to sit, both inside and out. Because of location it was very enjoyable to sit outside. Staff were excellent, helpful, friendly and polite.

Size of room and temperamental TV. But far more positives than negatives.

This hotel was fabulous in every respect. The staff was wonderfully helpful. They provided a list of local taxis drivers to solve our terrified US driver situation. They gave us several local walking maps of areas we wanted to explore. One helpful young man who was local also gave us specific directions to Stow via scenic Maugersbury. This was a beautiful walk even in the gentle rain that fell that day. Fortunately, he had also mentioned a local bus which ended up being our solution for getting back to the hotel. The next morning he provided very specific directions to Upper Slaughter from the local road to the west of the hotel. While we only got about a mile in before weather turned us back, what we saw was beautiful; wild flower filled meadows, quaint sandstone houses, small stone bridges fording creeks, and gates that typify the region. Breakfast was outstanding and served in their beautiful restaurant dinning room. Your choice from a short list of warm breakfast options is made to order and included a delicious vegetarian English breakfast during our visit. We had planned to eat at their restaurant for dinner at least one night but ended up dining there all three nights due multiple tempting menu options. All three meals were amazing despite high expectations set by stellar reviews. The comfortable, spacious, and beautiful rooms made the unexpected time in them relaxing and enjoyable. We will absolutely be staying here the next time we visit.

Nothing.

The breakfast was decent, not great, but it was nice that it was made to order. The difficult thing about this hotel is the location. It's at the intersection of 2 thoroughfares and people drive VERY fast. It's unnerving to walk out from the hotel due to how drivers drive in this area. As well, other than walking the mile up into town, you need a car to go basically anywhere. Although our room was nice, there was only 1 small window in the vaulted ceiling, which was a little weird. We didn't spend that much time in the room but it would have been nice to see outside. The staff and service were lovely.

Lovely, clean hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Great food - both breakfast and evening dinner. The room we had, had a good sized fridge, coffee machine and kettle with a very good selection of coffee, tea and hot chocolate as well as still and sparkling water and a couple of small packs of biscuits. Nice and quiet room with air conditioning so had a good night sleep. Ample parking.

No specific issues with the hotel - all good, but located on a junction which can have fast flowing traffic, so just be aware of traffic if turning right into the car park as access is close to the junction.

The room was adequate and very clean. The beds were comfortable, the water hot, and quality toiletries. Everything needed for a short stay. The restaurant is exceptional with friendly welcoming staff. The table service for breakfast is a nice change from the usual self service in other hotels. We prefer continental breakfast and it would be good to see a wider choice on the menu, ie continental meats and cheeses alongside the usual cereal, toast and pastries.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Number Four at Stow. The room was very nice and our bed was very comfortable. The hotel is just a short 5 minute drive in to the centre of Stow. It's a perfect location to drive to numerous local towns and villages in the Cotswolds. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and polite and we really enjoyed our breakfasts on both mornings. The hotel has a small bar/ lounge area which is perfect for a few in house drinks. If we ever visit the Cotswold again, we would definitely return to Number Four, a perfect hotel for a trip to Stow and the surrounding areas.

This charming hotel punches above it's weight and after a long drive from Ireland fulfilled everything I could wish for. This traditional elegant hotel with modern touches, felt relaxing and welcoming, with helpful and friendly staff. My room was perfect with a large double bed which was conducive to good sleep and comfort. Towels were plentiful and great quality with a lovely selection of individua toiletries. Breakfast was served in a timely manner and was delicious with local produce used. As a lone traveller I felt safe and secure and would have loved to stay longer.

While my sleep wasn't disturbed you could hear noise from adjoining rooms but not so much as to be completely annoying, may just have been extra loud guests!
