Great suite! Could be improved by more towels, 1 small 1 bath each, it would benefit a basket of towels esp. to use the lovely bath in the suite. But overall it was beautiful.

The staff in the restaurant could do with a little training! Very sloppy service but the food ( dinner) was good tho we’d have liked more home cooked & not so much bought in! I had a gin & was told there was only 2 gin glasses left so I got a plain glass , just needs attention to detail as it makes all the difference in hospitality! As its also up there in price! The upstairs bathroom was not mentioned in any promo - it didn’t matter to us as we are able but it should be in the details!

The staff were pleasant and polite given how busy they were over half term. The food was exceptional, a little expensive but very delicious. My breakfast was tasty lovely bacon and soft scrambled egg. It is a good situation being close to Oxford and all the other Cotswolds Towns. I particularly liked the bar area very cosy and lots of atmostphere.

I cannot give any constructive criticism as they were definitely on it. Of course anyone can have an off day but I stayed there 4 nights and each evening meal I was treated very nicely with good service. So I never saw any off day or had a bad experience. I can only recommend anyone to go to this lovely Pub with lovely boutique bedrooms.

We stayed for one night at the porch house, the rooms were very cosy and well decorated. The dinner at the porch house was exceptional, there was a table of 6 of us which all had different things, all of us were very happy! The staff were very friendly and the whole feel and look of the place was beautiful

The rooms were a little bit hot at night time, so we know if we come again in the winter to turn down the radiators so we can sleep better It was a little bit noisy when people were coming in and out of the door to the rooms due to the squeaky door, but this didn’t last for long

As soon as we arrived, Hannah made us feel very welcome. She is an asset to The Porch House and really made our stay enjoyable. The Winter Wonderland deal was excellent and we had a very good dinner which we all enjoyed. The room was comfortable and spacious too. Breakfast was also very good, with Hannah serving us again. Thank you for looking after us.

The only comment we can make is whether a very small wardrobe could be fitted in Room 8, to save going up and downstairs to where clothes are currently hung.

Upon checking in, find a staff member at the bar if no one is by the doors, then sit at the table with a sign on. They will sort everything out. The lady was very nice and showed us to our room. This review relates to the small cosy room: We booked the small cosy room (4), which is above the main door if you look at a photo and it was lovely and comfortable. The Inn is the oldest in England dating back to 947, which is amazing, to think someone was in our room 1000 years ago! The windows are obviously old but all part of the charm, it was lovely. The radiator was on so it was very warm, we turned it off as it it was too warm for us being a very mild winter we are having, but it's good to know when it's cold the heating is effective. The room was clean and cosy with a TV and a hairdryer in the drawer. There is a chest of drawers but no wardrobe, as space is limited, but this didn't matter to us. It you have clothes that you really need to hang, there are plenty of coat hooks on the wall, so you just need to bring hangers if you book the snug room. I'm sure the bigger rooms have a wardrobe. The bathroom was clean and modern, with subway style tiles and a shower cubicle with a regular shower head and a large rainfall one. Best to wash your hair etc under the small one (bottom knob on the wall) and use the rainfall head to simply relax and stand under as there is no escaping the water when it's on - but its nice! Bar of soap, small shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were provided. I expect these would be topped up upon servicing of the room. We were only there one night, so we didn't need any more. The towels were clean, white, and fluffy. You step down two steps into the snug bedroom area, the arch way is quite low, if you're very tall you may want to avoid it, but if you're able to duck, I'd go for it and enjoy the charm. We are both 5'8 "and had to duck, but it is fine if you're able-bodied.

Beautiful, traditional room at the top of the pub. Very comfortable bed and pillows, lovely towels and robes. Good supply of tea/coffee etc. Wonderful bathroom with claw tub. No parking supplied but fairly easy to find on the street. Lovely bar and dining room area. Great example of traditional, Cotswolds accomodation. Would happily recommend this accomodation and the town of Stow-on-the-Wold, which has ample shops, pubs and restaurants to keep you busy.

Be aware if you have a lovely room at the top of the house it requires lots of stairs, ok for us but not if stairs are an issue for you. Our one meal we ate in the dining room was a little average and the prices a little high, but unfortunately that seemed the case in a lot of the places we visited. The quality of produce has declined in the Uk unfortunately.

We had a very special stay at the porch house. We were lucky enough to get a last minute booking, the cosiest little room. The room was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities. Our dinner was excellent, some of the nicest food we’ve had. But the staff specifically made our night (I wish I took down the gentlemen’s name but he was so funny and very friendly). Thank you to the also very lovely guy that served us breakfast. You all made our engagement weekend delightful.

I couldn’t possibly find a fault

Location in centre of Stow on Wold

Inconsistency of approach. 2 day stay 1st night good dinner in restaurant then sat in snug with friends until 11.30 chatting. 2nd night locked up at 10 no more drinks even though we were residents and moved from snug. Also double charged me the fee which had been taken by booking .com but had not come through on hotel system so they took payment from my card then said it would be a week before I would get refund as unable to do straight away. This was very frustrating. Room not cleaned or towels changed.

Great location in the Cotswold. Excellent staff from checkin to breakfast and dinner to checkout. The bed and pillows were really soft and comfy. Room was small but in perspective, inn is old style and can imagine way back then, room is sufficient for travellers and still is. Stayed one night. Would love to stay more.

Our Room faced the back courtyard. The evening we stayed, there were some people gathering there and were quite rowdy. They sounded like they worked there?? This carried on to about 10ish.

Roomy suite with great ambiance; pleasant and friendly staff! Bed was very comfortable and water pressure in the shower and shower drainage were great.

The shower needed a shelf where you could put the shampoo, soap, etc. instead of having to put them on the floor. Also there was lack of soundproofing and we could hear people laughing and talking loudly at the bar until midnight. Would also be good to have a staffed front desk where you can check in and ask for help.
