On arriving at the Red Lion, the premises looked beautiful from the outside, and we were not disappointed on entering the bar. We were greeted by a burning fire and very warm welcome from the staff. We were upgraded to another room on arrival and it was truly beyond expectations in all ways. The room was exceptionally clean, the bathroom amenities were excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant and again, it exceeded expectations for both myself and my partner. The staff were extremely friendly and full of advice. We went for a 2 hour walk the following morning and the countryside was stunning. The choice of options for dinner and again breakfast were excellent and I considered it very good value for money.

I could not find fault.

The Red Lion Inn was an excellent place to stay & base yourself at for exploring the area. From when we arrived the staff were very friendly, helpful and extremely hardworking. Our room was tasteful, spotless and comfortable - with lots of extra touches like a coffee machine, homemade shortbread & Molton Brown toiletries. We ate in the pub and the food was superb, a good choice for all palates. We had a table inside but there was also a beautiful garden. As we had an extremely early start, we requested a continental breakfast. This was ready outside our room when we got up and was excellent. Fresh fruit, cereal, pastries and chilled juice. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if in the area. Thank you to all the staff & ‘Bella’ for being so welcoming.

The staff were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The location was ideal for exploring the many surrounding villages - Snowshill, Broadway, Great Tew. The food served for dinner and also breakfast was very high quality and reasonable too.

The room was hot on the night and even though we'd been provided with a fan, which was greatly appreciated, it just meant we didn't sleep very well. I'd asked in advance if anything could be done for my mum's 60th birthday, as that was the reason for our visit, but it wasn't mentioned which disappointed me a little as I'd hoped for a more personable stay with it being a small B&B.

We were going to be leaving very early on our departure day so mentioned that we wouldn't require breakfast. Very kindly we were told that it was no problem, they would leave a breakfast, fruit, yogurt and some pastries outside our door for our journey. We were a little disappointed it didnt materialise but not unhappily so. These things happen. The stay at the Red Lion was superb, it's up there as one of the nicest pubs we've stayed in.

Sorry, can't write a couple of sentences of what we didn't like as there is nothing we didn't like !

Red Lion Inn really made an impression on me. It was so incredibly cozy--my room was a tiny attic room, and yet I had everything I needed, and enjoyed snuggling up there. I enjoyed the delicious breakfast and dinners even more, the latter when it got nice and lively at night by the fire. This place is everything you want an English countryside inn to be.

We can't fault the Red Lion Inn. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds. Very comfortable, quiet and clean rooms with great facilities. Food was amazing, great menu choices and superb breakfast. Johnny the manager and his lovely staff went above and beyond to make us feel special. The gardens are beautiful and ideal for children or just chilling with a glass of wine. We will definitely be back. Can't recommend highly enough. Very dog friendly too, all the rooms are named after dogs.

We should have asked for a room on a lower floor (our fault) as my elderly friend struggled a little with the stairs. However Johnny said next time he'd sort that out for us

Everything about my stay was absolutely wonderful! All staff were so warm and welcoming, they couldn't have been any nicer. They even provided me with a spare tube of toothpaste which they went out of their way to find for me. They really went above and beyond. I travel the country with my wedding photography business and the tea tray at The Red Lion Inn was one of the most luxurious I have come across! The Red Lion Inn is full of carefully considered details and touches that sets them apart from other hotels. I don't want to mention them because it might spoil the surprise :) As mentioned in other reviews, the breakfast was absolutely impeccable and full of nice touches. I left The Red Lion Inn feeling calm, relaxed and desperately wanting to come back!

Breakfast very good. Staff extremely kind. A good start point for many activities. Highly recommendable. Very pleasant stay (thanks again to everyone who was involved). Next time we will book more time (promised!) ...

Just one little point that prevents me from giving full 10 points. We are used to sleep with open windows and the rooms are directly at a road that is used from 6 am on in the morning more than we expected.

Room was clean and spacious, had breakfast in the morning which was so much choice! If you've got dogs we would recommend here as they are big dog lovers, we will 100% stay here again!! This is a delightful country pub, deceptively large with a really lovely traditional finish inside. The beer was great, the food in the restaurant excellent and very generous. Our room was newly refurbished and really quaint up in the eves. Some very creative use of space and lovely attention to detail. Despite being pub accommodation, the room was very quiet - the noisiest neighbours being the birds outside. There was really generous outside space and a fun balance walk challenge that was best attempted before sampling the beer.

Everything was lovely - some of the ceilings are a challenge for very tall people but that is also part of the charm of this type of property.
