Exceeded our expectations on all fronts!!!! Breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared using local ingredients and from their organic farm! Also had dinner which was fantastic! Warm and inviting atmosphere. Staff were attentive, friendly and cheeky! Rooms were unique and very clean! Relaxed vibe, one of the best places we have ever stayed in England! Have already booked for next year!!!

There is nothing that I would change, it was absolutely perfect!!!

The rooms were located in an annexe, but very comfortable and the bathroom very clean. The food was delicious with a good choice and nicely presented. The chatty host for breakfast was attentive and good humoured. Breakfast was tasty and fresh.

Our family of four had an unforgettable New Year’s stay at Helen Browning’s Royal Oak. Tim was an exceptional and memorable host, going above and beyond to ensure every detail of our visit was perfect. From his warm welcome to his expert recommendations for exploring the stunning countryside, he made us feel truly at home. The cozy rooms, farm-to-table dining, and endless opportunities for outdoor adventures made our 4-day trip a delight. Celebrating the New Year in such a vibrant yet serene setting was truly special—thank you, Tim, for making it so memorable!

Loved the room with the roll top bath as well as a separate shower, thank you. Loved the fresh milk for our early morning coffees! Fantastic bed linen. Beautifully clean so could completely relax. Courtyard sunny. Actually one of the nicest days sitting there!

The only tiny thing was people parking outside the bedroom window but not much you can do about that! The Blinds at the windows were great.... Also - if we hadn't reminded the check out staff that we had had more drinks than they had on their Bill, you would have lost out.....!

It's the second time we've stayed here and we'll be back again. The staff are lovely, really friendly and the food is great. Breakfast in particular is a feast with plenty of options on offer. The accommodation is set away from the pub/restaurant, although only a short distance. No complaints about the room, everything you might need in there. Telly, hairdryer, kettle etc. There's a small farm shop which has some lovely stuff in it. Almost forgot to mention the local beers on offer. Great selection, I had Malthouse craft beer I think it was called. Lovely! Can't recommend this place enough.

From check in to check out the staff at Helen Browning's Royal Oak were fantastic friendly welcoming accommodating and made you feel part of the family nothing was too much and they were always on hand to help and go beyond all measures to fulfil your request or needs. Especially Tim and Lynn and all the staff sorry if I didn't remember your names. Please visit and the farm shop is amazing quality organic products and the food fresh well presented and taste perfect 10/10 Bed amazingly comfortable and slept well.

WiFi connection was not great but it was time to relax and disconnect so it was a welcome surprise to have less screen time and connect with nature. Could do with more dusting but otherwise very well kept.

The area, surroundings, facilities, staff and the evening meals where fantastic. Catered for an early breakfast barm with sausage & egg which was very good👌🏻

The breakfast, we was looking forward to a full English Breakfast 😋 but wasn't as impressed as expected. We wish we had gone for the other options instead.

Lovely area of the world with fantastic walks for us and our dog. Very dog friendly and food in the pub absolutely fantastic. Staff very friendly and welcoming, and seem to genuinely love working here. Breakfast was delicious with produce from the farm (as is most of the pub menu) including lovely apple juice, delicious sausages and bacon. We stayed in Kate's Folly which is a nice quirky room, very comfortable. We were recommended this place on a previous visit for food and made a point of staying the next time we were in the area as we were so impressed. It has definitely again lived up to expectations.

A little on the pricier side but was excellent value for money I feel so can't complain.

Third visit as love the ambience. Rooms are in separate annex a little way away giving tranquillity. Well stocked snug a real bonus so you can choose a little sitting room rather than the bar if you want. Large car park with EV chargers eases anxiety for those of us reliant on volts. Short menu but food excellent and organic. Large fairy lit lawn, rustic restaurant or homely pub to choose from - quiet, charming village with great walking and archaeology on doorstep. What's not to like?? Will tour the farm next time!
