The room on the hotel side was very modern and very comfortable and very spacious. It had some good in room facilities like a coffee machine and the usual kettle. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet .
Although everything was modern, there was some mould and grime in the corners and edges of the shower cubicle, it didn’t put me off using it, but I just noticed it when I was in there. The adjoining pub, the county arms seem to be all restaurant tables, there was no general pub area with comfortable seats etc. as a solo traveller sitting in a restaurant style setting is a bit more uncomfortable than sitting in a pub. That said the food was very nice and the staff were very attentive.

It was very convenient to downtown Truro. The room was nicely appointed and the mattress was to die for! Like sleeping at a 5* hotel! We had dinner one of the evenings we stayed and the fish and chips were the best I’ve had! Breakfast was excellent and my special request for a boiled egg was done without any issues and boiled soft to perfection.
We stayed in Room 1, the window overlooked the car park with bright lights all night and noise from the cars parking, people coming and going to/from the car park and the road noise. Plus because it is just at the entrance to the hotel reception, people seem to congregate outside that entrance to smoke and carry on loud conversations, etc which is inches away from the window of Room 1. Hopefully the next time I can book in Room 2 which is right across the hallway and at the opposite end of the building and not near the car park or entrance.

reason for staying was for a family funeral, father in law had lived in Cornwall for over 20 years, so it seemed appropriate to have the funeral locally, even though we live over 200 miles away. they were happy to arrange a buffet and corden off an area for the wake, we were more than happy with the service provided for this.. we catered for more people than attended - but rather over cater than under cater! due to a problem on the M5 we had a car load turn up late to the wake - missing the funeral, we did take up space longer than booked but not a problem with the hotel. buffet planning was easy and food provided exceeded expectations in quality and quantity. thankyou county arms for your care in a difficult situation! breakfast was also exceptional, rooms immaculately clean and facilities good. also we were not disturbed for room servicing until we left. clearly the staff knew the time of the funeral and waited until we had left to service the room.
only got 1 card key as a couple staying, you need to insert the card into the slot for lights and TV. if one person needs to leave the room they need to take the card key with them to gain access to the entrerence to the corridor to gain access to the accommodation corridors , this means other half remaining in the room is plunged into darkness with no electricity- maybe consider 2 card keys for couples.

The hotel was in a fantastic central location, town was close by, lots of supermarkets, lots of takeaways. The hotel was beautiful, free car park, spacious clean room, comfy bed, beautiful view of the countryside from the bedroom. The food was delicious, especially breakfast which was a reasonable price, it was a St Austell Brewery, evening menu didn’t have any burgers or pizzas which would’ve been perfect if you didn’t want something quiet as heavy as pie ect… Every part of Cornwall was within an hour of the hotel so that was a real selling point, the only downside that I found was the customer service from the front desk varied, the young ladies was very welcoming saying good morning and having a chat with my 2 year old but there was a few that wasn’t so welcoming, on check in it would’ve been nice to have had more info about the hotel, surroundings and the restaurant however I did find the info out myself but the customer service should be exactly the same whoever is front of house. Great stay and will be returning again, thank you.

I loved that the staff were so helpful and friendly. As a woman travelling solo for business, I often hate eating on my own and feel unsafe, but I was very comfortable in the restaurant, it was a really relaxed atmosphere and my room was close to reception. The room was very big with a lot of extra touches, water, biscuits etc. The bed was so comfortable. They were very accommodating at breakfast too, as I had little time, they made me a nice breakfast roll to take away. I would highly recommend staying here and will stay here again.
The only thing was that the shower wasn't very powerful; It was more of a dribble.

Excellent position for buses and trains. Outlook from our room was so pretty. The room was spacious and we booked this for the air conditioning facture, also the choice of twin beds which were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional. Plenty of coffee and water provided. Shower easy to use. Lovely soft towels.
The tile grout in the on suite shower had black mould in places. outside of the hand basin area had toothpaste marks on from the morning. Items were not moved a wiped underneath. The duvet covers were unusual, blocks of filling made the beds look lumpy.

The staff! They were exceptional. Michaela on reception was so welcoming and could not do enough to help us. She even offered to carry our suitcases up the stairs (we did decline). So much advise which was very welcome. Then we met Barry who was on hand every day with more advise and suggestions for our trip. He was so good we booked the Harbour Inn at Porthleven because if the staff there are good as them we would be more than happy. When we arrived we found that the hotel was on a busy road and I was apprehensive about our stay. The rooms were all quiet and the views out the back were lovely. The roast dinner on Sunday was a big hit! Exceeded expectations 👍👍

The room was big and nicely decorated. The teabag selection was really good and the biscuits were really nice. The manager was helpful, the tv didn’t work and he managed to get a replacement within 10 minutes. The food in the restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced.
The noise from the Train line, the wine in the restaurant was nearly £10 a glass, I had a couple of glasses and probably would have been better to buy a bottle. We didn’t have a wine list. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work but as we had already just been down regarding the tv we didn’t want to seem like complainers!

The room and bathroom were spotless. Plenty of space. Everything was well maintained. Fantastic shower Coffee/Tea/Hot Chocolate and biscuits as well as espresso machine. Reception and breakfast staff all very welcoming and cheerful. Beautiful views of the hills/countryside from the breakfast room.
Just one thing - the hotel provides full English breakfast, plus vegetarian and vegan versions. All excellent but if you're vegan because you don't like/can't tolerate meat, then maybe avoid the vegan 'bratwurst' as it's texture is very meaty.

The room was quiet, spacious, clean, and had a nice rural outlook. All the housekeeping staff were pleasant and polite. There was plenty of parking. Food service was prompt. Good selection of good quality tea and coffee in the room. Good location.
Some of the bar staff were inattentive and walked away from the bar whilst I was waiting to be served. This happened twice during our short stay. Our water wasn't replenished in our room on the second day. The room was very warm, so it was difficult to keep drinks cool without a fridge. The bedding was really noisy.
