Lovely staff especially at front desk and loved the security of parking in a gated car park. Front entrance wall paper is beautiful and the trendy setting is lovely . Room was beautifully clean and detailed. Perfect location for what we had planned and enjoyed the whole experience from such a lovely hotel.

We could hear everything from our next room neighbour as in even talking which was a tad annoying at half six in the morning with them rushing for breakfast . We couldn’t hear anything outside so windows were great just heard them but no fault of hotel more like noisy guests who wanted to eat early.

Breakfast was very good, the room was big and welcoming, the staff were exceptionally nice. The Monday Moroccan special was also good. Being in the very centre of town is convenient. Superb bathroom (but see below)

A tiny niggle: a warm croissant is so much nicer than a cold one. Other similar small issues: the microwave instructions weren't for the model that was in the room, a proper table would be much better than what was there, the placing of the charging point in the bathroom means you can't charge a toothbrush and the armchairs aren't very comfortable. These are very minor, but if you're looking to improve continuously, worth a look.

The location is pretty good. Truro wasn't anything special to us and our goal was to visit the rest of Cornwall which we did. We did enjoy having the modernized outlets on each side of the bed. The staff is wonderful and the morning breakfast was very nice. The Co-op store is open later and we visited often.

No A.C. for the 2nd floor room. That's just a fact of staying in older hotels and part of the experience. Having homeless hanging out near the end of the block, although certainly not a fault of the hotel, was present. A lack of hotel staff helping with luggage to the 2nd floor was a surprise, but we found that bell services were lacking throughout England in our stay. Thank goodness we had smaller luggage. Do NOT walk from the train station as it's quite a distance. The trip back is uphill and not really something you want to do as well. Take an Uber, etc.

The continental breakfast consisted of good quality food, with a good range l. The staff were very polite and helpful. Parking was round the back of the hotel and free. Very convenient for the Hall for Cornwall and the cathedral

Is a 5’ bed a king size bed? I guess it is but it’s about the smallest for which that definition can be given and also when you look at the definitions it covers quite a range so you’re taking your chances. As a couple we find 5’ a bit on the small side. So the bed could be bigger. The fluorescent map of the building (can see in case of fire in the dark) was somewhat irritating.

Buffet breakfast was good with a wide selection - an extra payment for cooked breakfast. I had cooked one day and buffet the other. Both good. Service was very attentive and fast. Car parking was free and secure right next door to the hotel.

My room was very hot when I arrived as the windows had been closed on a hot day. I asked why and this was due to the risk of birds flying in. There was a fan in the room and it cooled down once I opened the windows and had the fan on. I had to carry my case up 2 flights of stairs to my room - no lifts in this lovely old building.

The hotel was warm and welcoming from the moment we entered. All the staff were engaging and very professional. It was very pleasant to receive a very high level of service throughout the hotel from reception, chamber maids or restaurant / bar. The breakfast included is continental and extensive,You have a large choice to choose from. It was a nice change from a cooked breakfast ( which is my usual breaky when I'm away). The evening restaurant is worth a visit especially if you enjoy and appreciate food that is prepared and cooked to a very high standard, with outstanding service. We had a lovely stay and will return as it's location is ideal for exploring Cornwall or just have a relaxing break in the town as all amenities are within walking distance. The large private carpark situated next to the hotel is a great bonus for a central location hotel. Which many other hotels etc. do not have these days.

What I didn't like ?.....that there was nothing to dislike.

Breakfast - continental buffet - was excellent Staff - were unfailingly kind and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble Location - excellent - could not have been more convenient for all amenities - bus station, shops, bars and restaurants Room - see below but staff left us a fan (without us asking) for the last day to keep us cool

Room was stuffy and window did not open. Staff left curtains open so room was hot when we returned to it. Generally the hotel was in need of some modernisation and tlc inside and outside.

Couldn't be more central and a perfect place to stay for visiting the Hall for Cornwall. Excellent continental breakfast is included. Car parking is very reasonable and secure. Staff were very friendly.

Bit of a worry about getting a car park space as you can't reserve a space. There is a multi storey close by if you can't get in at Mannings. The shower in our bathroom was temperamental and awkward to get it stay on (runs from the taps). We had room 19 and were directly above the ventilation units. There was a constant noise from the units and although it didn't keep us awake, the sound may bother light sleepers.

Mannings is located perfectly within Truro ,easy parking & very friendly staff especially reception & Restaurant teams.Without question I would recommend Mannings to friends & family & hope to visit again in the future.

Room 25 overlooked the Kitchen extractor fans which we're noisy & as it was warm I had no choice but to open my window.i was offered a alternative room ,however this was extremely warm & not suitable as I the Loft area.Mannings handled my request very well and as promised the fan was switched off from 9pm-6am.
