my husband and I like to stay just outside of city centers away from noise, and this location was perfect. it's about 5 min drive or 15 min walk to the middle of the city center and right across the street from an aldi. we had Room 1 which had such a great view of the city and cathedral! also a microwave and fridge so we were able to keep our grocceries fresh. staff were very helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean do note that if you enjoy walking, the stay is on a hill so you'll be walking uphill at some point if you've walked downhill to get around. great stay and value and would recommend !

we didnt dislike anything. but I'll just note that if anyone has mobility issues, I think all rooms are up at least one flight of stairs. also there was a ticking or dripping noise that was nonstop from about 8pm until 7am but it didn't prevent us from getting a good nights rest. it could have been pipes or external or another room, but it didnt keep us awake.

Although there was no breakfast the cafe close to the bus station compensated for that. As a traveller by public transport (I like to go places by bus),a hundred yards along the road by the big Sainsbury's you can head for St Ives, Falmouth Penzance etc,loved it 🕉️

I didn't like the fact that I tried to use Google maps to find the address which was not successful. Anyone going to the Donnington guest house from Truro rail station it's simple, turn right out of the station,walk up the hill to Sainsbury's, turn left and keep going. Ten minute walk. That's it really 🕉️

Originally booked for easy access to a works event which fell through, 2 rooms were booked and we continued with our stay regardless, having a well needed and well earned staff night out instead. The host was there to meet and welcome us to the property and was very warm and friendly, which gave the property a relaxed vibe. The rooms had all that was needed for an overnight stay and were clean and comfortable, with a few little extras which were nice. Although the Donnington is a little way out of the city centre, it was just a 10/15 minute walk downhill to the capital. The property is right on the main road and close to a couple of supermarkets for essentials and necessities anyway so was very handy for this purpose. Overall none of us (6 trainees turned partygoers) could fault the place, nor the stay, and if planning a night out in Truro again, would definitely check availability to book The Donnington in the future.

The beds are comfortable. It was good value. Walking distance to truro station. They are pet friendly! There was a small table so my family was able to have coffee and bread in the morning together. Working kettle, microwave and fridge. TV was decent as well, you get the usual channels. Also, they have a cute little honesty book shelf by the lobby, managed to leave a holiday book. Toilet was clean. They made up our room upon request, you just have to hang the sign by the door. I think the heating has a schedule? Probably only at night but there was a portable heater that managed to heat up the room.

The carpet could have used some vacuuming, we found a single toenail on it! We almost stepped on it haha It was probably because it was the easter weekend so they were operating on a skeleton crew but we only met one staff and we wanted to ask if we can have a hairdryer because it was only a hairdryer box inside the drawer for some reason, one of the other guests probably nicked it lol.

Convenient location. Plenty of parking. Spacious room and bathroom. Undercoated refrigerator in bedrokm great gor storing drinks etc. Quiet place even though on main road. Lovely lady who runs it. Excellent value. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again and happy to recommend.

My only small critique would be radiator in bathroom large towel handing type. Great for drying towels and having them warmed. Temp was a little to high as it was very hot day when we stayed and it heated the entire bedroom and bathroom. Couldn't figure how to turn it down. But deffo don't let that put you off as I would book again for sure. Lovely place to stay

This was our third time staying at donnington and I can confidently say their standards have not dropped. Staff are still very lovely, location has always been convenient for us, rooms very clean, bed very comfy, toiletries and bins were checked everyday and after talking to a staff member we learnt that they try their best to keep the prices as low as they can and I can confidently say each year we’ve come the prices have been very good. Would highly recommend :)

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a fridge, a microwave and a kettle. The lady allowed us to leave our luggage which we appreciated.

It's on a road with lots of traffic which can affect your sleep. Besides, the room was a little bit warmer. The toilet made a noise that was concerning but at the end of our stay, we knew it was nothing. The mattresses were not comfortable enough. If you come from the train station by walking, you have to go through a couple of passages between houses...

The property is well situated, has good parking and is exceptionally clean. The owners are also very accommodating, I have had to check in late twice due to work commitments and they have been very helpful and communicative. The rooms also have a fridge and microwave, perfect if needing a base away from home.

It can be a bit noisy as it’s on the main road but the rooms at the back are much nicer and quieter.

The room was really spacious and clean. It's location was perfect with Lidl just across it and the main road in front of it. Sainsbury gas station and grocery is just two minutes away too. The check-in and out was smooth, no hassle. You'll just have to fill in a form when you check-in and leave the keys in the room when you check out. It's got parking space too.

The parking space needs to have lines to ensure that there's enough space for each car. On our second night, one car was parked too far from the other one which forced us to squeeze our car too near the gate.

Made my own breakfast, crockery and cutlery supplied, good to have a fridge plus tea and coffee making facilities. Room size fine. Bed mattress was not as good as hoped but serviceable enough. Light and airy room.

Bed mattress could've been better but I have a bad back. I have a memory foam mattress at home. It's on a main road so obviously there's traffic, though quiet at night. A lot of light pollution from street lights and Lidl's across the road. Problem sorted with an eye mask. Even use it at home now.
