The hotel is very pleasant although a little dated. The location is convienent for visiting Angelsey Race track. The food is excellent especially the breakfast which is hot and cooked to order rather than luke warm from a buffet like you get in more up market hotels.

No lift and awkward stairs. Long walk around the hotel from carpark to hotel enterances, the garden door which is closest to the carpark is always closed, the other two doors are open at different times. Hotel like Angelsey in general is a little pricy, if it wasn't for the race track I wouldn't bother crossing the Menai Straits as Snowdonia on the other side is much more beautiful.

The staff were absolutely wonderful, couldn't do enough for you. The food in the bar was delicious and really reasonable. You even get 25% off for being a resident but we didn't see the voucher in our rooms as we ate before dropping off luggage. Perfect location for using the port for ferries to Ireland. Children's play area in the garden is a lovely addition. Would definitely come back next time we travel over there.

We stayed here in a family room the night before catching a ferry from Holyhead port and again on our return journey. The first night we were in a room with a bunk bed and a double. Whilst it was clearly clean it did feel a little dingy. However the second night we were in a different room (double bed, with separate bedroom containing 2 singles) and this one was absolutely fine. This wouldn't put me off booking again as I couldn't fault anything else however I would request one of the rooms with single beds rather than bunks. The bar was busy on both occasions which speaks volumes for the hotel as a whole.

I was impressed with the staff who were all very pleasant and helpful. I also thought the breakfast was very good. It included the option of a full Welsh breakfast, but there was also fruit, cereals, pasties, toast, yoghurt etc. Since Valley is a small village with only one other pub, it's not surprising that many guests opt to have dinner at the hotel - and this was also done well, with an attractive menu including starters, main dishes and several "lighter bite" options.

I was quite happy with my room even though the window was "painted over" so you couldn't see outside. It was also not possible to open the window - which meant you couldn't get any fresh air. It was a little noisy in that you could hear other guests walking down the passageway, shutting doors etc. This didn't particularly bother me - but it was quite noticeable. The lighting in the room could be improved.

The Staff were extremely friendly. I was late for breakfast and they offered me coffee and food to take with me. It was just me and my Dachshund "Donnie". All the staff were brilliant. The young lad with yellow hair and the other girl that were around at breakfast time were so friendly and professional. I spoke to the room cleaner too. I didn't know it was 10.30 check out (my fault) and she told me not to worry and don't rush. An unsung hero of the staff. Anyway, next time i drop someone off at Holyhead, then I'll come to stay for the night with my sausage dog, before I set off back. Thanks again all the staff at "Valley hotel". I didn't like not being able to stay there for longer. It was such a laid back, nice break, even though it was just one night.

9 year old..."I liked the room and the food". 11 year old..."everything was alright". 44 year old...the hotel is in a great location for exploring locally however I wasn't expecting it to be so close to the main road. The room was clean and the staff were lovely and helpful but if I had one criticism it has to be the carpet through the hall stairs and landing. It's stained and it smells so it give a bad impression when you first walk in which is a shame because the hotel itself isn't dirty. The staff were very nice and approachable so it's only a minor flaw but I'd definitely say the owners should invest in new carpet because it kind of lets the place down X

Plenty of parking. Check in was simple, I asked at the bar and taken through into hotel reception. I had a great room and bathroom. I had an evening meal in the pub downstairs, delicious food ! All the staff were friendly and welcoming both in the evening and the following morning.

My only gripe was that Room 8 down the far end of the corridor is next to an exit door, this area seemed to be a hub for the cleaners at 7am having conversations about room cleaning, opening and shaking out plastic bags and to take the laundry in and out of... I spoke to the manager about this on checking out. The shower screen has been removed, leading to a bit of a mess at the edge of the bath, I'd removed the remaining bracket for a better appearance. Breakfast took 30 minutes from ordering to serving, this wait was apologised for by the breakfast staff, along with the fact that there was no milk or fruit juice which was dealt with on my bringing it to their attention.

Staff Pub Clean

Bed was hard and uncomfortable, At Breakfast had to ask every day for juice and bread as not already refilled when used, when juice was refilled only small amount topped up between guests and had to ask again to be refilled again. Television didn’t work, a really lovely young man came and fixed it and it was remote that didn’t work, wasn’t replaced couldn’t flick through channels.

The hotel is lovely we have stayed here lots of times when visiting my sister, great location , good food for evening meals. The bedroom was nice but needed perhaps a set of draws , it was a twin room but was sufficient

The breakfast was lovely first morning, a bit slow replenishing the milk and bread , needed the hot water replacing , they were slow to order my breakfast on the second morning , rushed it because they had forgotten me so wasn't as nice, but new management so forgiven

Excellent customer service. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure that you enjoyed your stay. Room was spacious and had everything you needed. Food was cooked really well, had a lot of choice and lots of it but also had a choice of having smaller portions so you didn't have to waste food. Check in and out was quick and efficient. Loads of parking and a lovely beer garden at back of venue.

Because of location of hotel and having a room on the front on the main road and crossroads and also cars parked below the window traffic was noisy at times but this was partly due to it being too warm to close windows so maybe that would have blocked a lot of the noise.

friendly check-in staff, clean and warm room. Reasonable size for single.

Sat in bar area for breakfast. Had to walk back/to, main breakfast room several times for breakfast items. would of been helpful to have small tray to use or have drinks served to table as had to walk back to breakfast buffet several times for juice, tea, cereal, toast or pastries and not comfortable leaving handbag at table.
