Staff very friendly and polite, food excellent but overpriced!!!!

Some serious maintenance needs to be done around the site including our patio flooring and a metal ring held on by one screw !!!! And also £25 each to use the spa REALLY this is outrageous considering the amount you charge for your rooms, we have stayed in countless spas and not one have changed to use the spa, treatments yes not a problem!!!!!

Super comfortable bed and sumptuous pillows. Really nice breakfast. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. 10/10 for them.

The room was much smaller than anticipated and the TV was less than overwhelming both in size and quality. Although the toiletries were excellent, the tea and coffee making facilities were less so. Too much posh stuff and no 'normal' tea bags until the wonderful reception staff blagged me some from their own store. It's a nice hotel but I would say it doesn't warrant the cost.

Fabulous grounds and village. Well appointed rooms .

The taking of 150 on credit card in advance of any spending. Then on check out having to pay my bill and now wait for my 150 to be re payed? Can’t even just take difference. All hotels doing this now, it is another little revenue earner at every hotel. Bottom line is once you have card details you only need to hold a pound! Bad practise that government should regulate across all industry and stop

The place was beautiful, staff very friendly

We couldn’t use spa facilities. If you don’t purchase any treatment, you can’t use spa facilities.

Lovely old hotel, with beautiful restaurant and bar areas. The food was excellent as were the staff who couldn’t do enough for you, especially the girls on reception. Nice spa and the treatments and therapists were fantastic. The hotel was also in a good position to explore the Cotswolds with a beautiful old pub across the road from the hotel.

The rooms didn’t have any way of adjusting the temperature. You had to speak to reception. As a result first night was too cold and 2nd too hot! Also you couldn’t get the water at the right temperature the shower was either cold or too hot to go under. Also the spa pool was too cold. The hotel needs to update heating and plumbing in the rooms we stayed in. We also had a problem at check in as one of our rooms had a faulty lock where we couldn’t get into the room. The staff were all lovely and once you let them know there was a problem they did everything they could to sort it out. Ellie and the other lady on reception were particularly helpful. Having said that for the price paid you shouldn’t have these issues in the first place.

Stunning location, and a great area for some nice walks. Staff were curtious and helpful. Food was lovely. We had breakfast at the main building and dinner at the 'sister' venue across the road.

Room was lovely although quite small but ok for the 1 night. Ensuite was disappointing, the shower was broken and cleanliness was not to a high standard which would have been expected at a 4* hotel. We booked a Spa Hotel so we could have use of a Spa but were disappointed that you could only use it if you paid additon charges for a treatment; read the small print.

location is beautiful, hotel was great all you can ask for really. we stayed in the garden rooms as we were with our dog. the view was lovely. there are some great walks and some really good pubs serving delicious food- in walking distance from the hotel. The lamb inn Crawley, The horse and raddish (less than 1 mile on main road), The white hart (less than 1 mile on the main road).

The only down side was the bed, it was awful, we paid for a double and it was a twin bed pushed together. the mattress was really uncomfortable and when I mentioned in the morning the staff added a topper however unfortunately it was like a cushion you could feel everything. i absolutely loved the hotel and location but they need to invest in better mattresses, hopefully our case is a one off.

The hotel was situated in a beautiful area, with plenty of places for walks/hiking and things to do if you are able to drive out a bit. The terrace by the river was a lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink or two in the sunshine.

The menu was okay, but didn't wow us. The a La Carte menu in the main hotel in our opinion was overpriced, we saw another couple order from this and it appeared to be underwhelming for the price. £50 for two courses or £75 for three. The pub across the road (the old swan) which is also a part of the hotel, had the same problem, the menu choices were limited. They appeared to be short staffed, in both parts of the hotel, this may be to do with how one of the managers spoke to the staff. We were in the bar above the main restaurant at the end of an evening and the way the manager spoke to the poor waitress was shocking.

The stay was amazing, the food and service was exceptional in the restaurant. Used the spa which was lovely and dined in the old Swan, lovely meal, very friendly staff. Reception staff very helpful.

Picturesque and tranquil surroundings, spacious and comfortable room, and excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Dinner in main restaurant on our second night was very good ( outstanding hake!).

1. Evening meal in the Old Swan on our first night. Several items listed on the menu were not available, even though it was Friday evening. The cottage pie we then chose was very disappointing - re- microwaved, bland and tasteless. However, the staff were great, as was the beer! 2. Our room was great in itself, but was on ground level and the windows were directly opposite a convenient stopping place for guests walking by ( the outdoors large chess set station ). Consequently, people tended to stop and chat immediately outside our window which could be irritating at times.Tranquil
