We booked quite last minute for our stay but I had checked out the pub beforehand, the room was very sizable for the price we paid (I think the chap said we had been upgraded which was great!), the bed was very comfortable with lovely sheets and pillows. The bathroom was clean and well appointed. The staff were great, very helpful. We only stayed one night and checked in later in the day but we did enjoy a great dinner, lovely food with a different menu and great service. Thanks for making us so welcome.

There was a perfectly adequate cold breakfast (croissants, cereal, toast, yoghurt, etc) but cooked breakfast was extra. This isn't a huge problem but it maybe should be made obvious on the listing so you can be fully informed before deciding to book or not. However, I might have missed that so apologies if I did!

Breakfast was what one would expect in an establishment such as The Lamb Inn. Persons with mobility issues need to take a closer look at the property although the staff are very accommodating. Very comfortable room. Plenty of car parking. Well stock bar with plenty of good beers. Good food, good bar snacks. One must remember that this building is four hundred years old and therefore comes with its quirks and all.

Our room could have befitted from a shower mat, slippy surface in the shower try. Also a handrail or some form of hand grip to help negotiate the two steps down into the bathroom.

The room was small but cosy with an excellent shower/toiletries and a very comfy bed with feather and swim bedding which felt luxurious. When we asked for an earlier breakfast as we had to leave early there was no problem with this which we were grateful for.

The fact that at every meal they put a discretionary 12.5% on the bill. We believe that a tip should be given by choice and it's embarrassing to ask to take it off the bill, especially if you are staying at the Pub. Even a pint delivered to the table from the bar had 12.5% added yet if you ordered at the bar and took it yourself to the table no service charge added which didn't make much sense.

Food drink and ambience. Amazing range of people using this place - visitors, walkers and locals. customers there when we arrived at 4pm, and just got busier and busier! Good basic food , interesting bar food, and amazing restaurant - I really didn't expect turbot on the menu! Wine list excellent - pricy, but not for the selection of wines being offered!Pet friendly in the bar, everyone freindly - customers and staff. Big outside area, and accomodation in a separate block from the pub itself, so quiet. OK continental breakfast, and at a small cost, a range of hot breakfast items, which set us up for the day.

The room was a bit tiny. We had stayed to compete in a national archery comeptition, and we prefer to take ourbows to the room at night rather than leave them in the car, but there was barely room for our overnight bags, let alone sports equipment. This became more of a problem when the first day comepttion was in rain all day, and we had to leave wet/damp gear in the car overnight to use/wear next day, as space to dry it out in our rooom. Larger /taller people might have struggled to sit on the toilet, without having their knees on the opposite wall, and some might be put off by having the glass shower in the room with no cover/ privacy if someone else in th eroom - no problem for us, but.......

Loved being in a well looked after old building. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was included and nice selection. Very clean everywhere. Easy parking and nice garden to sit in with a cuppa. The staff were excellent.

In our room number seven the toilet cubicle was boardering on the freaky. So small that I had to sit at an angle to shut the door and I am just under six foot. The food we had was nice but vastly over priced as was the cost of the room £99 ?? We stay all over the UK really nice hotels and Inns and this was 4 star but priced as 6 star.My wife and I are 82 and had to climb stairs carrying bags !! Also the lighting in the bar is too dark and that made the floor dangerous. Grateity £2.75 ?? Note : The cubicle in room 7 needs widening to the edge of the shower with the beautiful hand basin taken out and replaced with a smaller one inside the toilet. Just a suggestion.

It was clean, warm and cosy. Charming place to stay.

They advertised that breakfast was included in the price but when we went down for breakfast the only choice was continental breakfast without paying an additional charge of £6 to £12 for a cooked breakfast. I explained that this was not made clear on the website but they were not prepared to provide anything but the Continental Breakfast unless we paid extra. However, they did say they would alter the information on the website to make this clear in future but I see that this has not been done.

Excellent light breakfast and the full English available if wanted - but at extra cost. Great and very friendly staff. Excellent menu and a first class evening meal in historical surroundings. On a cool August morning they even lit the fire in the breakfast room. Nice Touch! It was an August week end but we thought the holiday boost to the room price was just a bit too high. Nevertheless a fine experience and a beautiful olde English pub in the best of traditions.

Bathroom had been revamped and was sparklingly new and clean. One point which my wife did not appreciate was that the shower only had a large rain burst head. No smaller hand held shower to direct the flow away from hair and no shower caps with the toiletries, which, incidentally, were up-market and first class. Consider the ladies when re-planning facilities. And keep mirrors at a lower level not man height.

Location great -room a little noisy as directly above bar but very clean and comfortable with great shower. Very helpful and friendly staff . Sunday lunch was fantastic

We booked a room including breakfast through booking.com and were disappointed to be told by the hotel that we were only entitled to a cold breakfast. It fell short of what you would expect for a continental bfst in our opinion. There were no yogurts, cheeses and cold meats as an example. Hot breakfasts were extra. Other guests were of the same opinion .The breakfast descriptions need to be made clearer on booking.com

Lovely room, nice shower and products, comfy bed. Food good and lovely pub atmosphere

We had stayed here many times in the 1990s and early 2000 so we were excited to be back. Nice girl showed us where to go for our room but other than that nobody seemed to care. Nobody asked if we were here for first time, were we enjoying our stay etc. Felt totally impersonal. Had to keep asking at breakfast for more yoghurt and fresh coffee etc - breakfast area not checked and felt like we weren’t really wanted though breakfast was good. Just disinterested attitude which was a shame and I was excited to be back. Might try somewhere else next time that wants the business.

Great pub with rooms and restaurant. Good location. Nice outside terrace. The bar welcomes locals and had a good atmosphere. The food was excellent at dinner, and the staff efficient and friendly. A good bed.

There were 3 difficult concrete steps down to our room area - with no handrail. The stairs were difficult for elderly people, again with no support. The worst thing was the walk in shower which had a slippery base, with no possibility of a non slip shower mat. The staff member said that they did not have them. For their own protection, as well as for guests, they should make a tiny investment of about £3 per shower to avoid big problems. Continental breakfast only on the BB rate.
