This was our 3rd stay. This time we had a lovely view to the ocean, very nice. The grounds are well tended, pretty and the street is very quiet and we adore the location 1 block from East Beach. Rooms can get very spacious and have a fun retro feel. We also choose this hotel because it is pet-friendly and we love East Beach and walking our dog there when we visit.

Very minor - but what could improve in the room is, bathroom amenities are very bare bones - no conditioner and very low budget shampoo/body wash. For the pricing I would expect another level up here, and maybe less cheap water cups - hospitality touches. Minor maintenance issue - the base of the fridge of our deluxe king clearly needed paint touchups. I would have rated Value a level higher, but since year's stays pricing is up quite a bit.

The room was a good size, well decorated, and comfortable. It had beach vibes but was not covered in sea shells and rope. I also really liked my view of the beach from the balcony. Snack and drinks were affordably priced.

I tried contacting the office by phone during lunch the day of my arrival and did not get an answer. I drove by and no one was at the front desk to answer questions either. After the lunch hour, the service and check-in was great. The water pressure in the shower was very low. At the time of booking, I thought included breakfast would mean some hot food like scrambled eggs, but when I arrived I was told the breakfast was light. The breakfast was very minimal - cereal, muffins, bagels, and coffee. Yogurt and other drinks needed to be purchased from the snack area.

the staff was lovely, very helpful and friendly. the breakfast was nice. the pool looked clean (but we didn’t get to use it). our room was big and cozy. street parking was actually very easy to find and was convenient the weekend we were there

the room was pretty hot, and though we had two fans running, felt pretty stuffy at all times. the stairs up and down the property were kind of annoying but it’s minor. the biggest issue was the shower- mid shower the water would go from freezing to scorching in like 3 seconds

Fantastic inspiring place to stay! Wow I don't know who the designer was but I love it everything about it all the stairways all the patio every the way everything was situated. And the room very very interesting furniture! absolutely loved my stay! Great receptionists 2 super interesting professional and engaging people! One of the the receptionists was French and the other one was a woman who had been a student at UC Santa Barbara! Fantastic people and I wish them both well!

I had to leave after two-night stay but I will definitely be back!! Definitely one of my go-to places in Santa Barbara!!

The entire stay was pleasant. Clean. Polite staff. Courteous. Ample parking. Felt secure. Ideal for small families and business/quick stops. Cute Retro decor. Lots of stairs and made me think of an Escher painting (retro style)

Maybe a map to figure out which stairs to take to my room from the parking lot gate entrance. 🤔 I felt like a mouse .... guests with bad knees and ankles should be alerted to the LOTS OF STAIRS...and multiple levels. I didn't NOT like it.... but was glad other family with mobility issues were not with me.

Proximity to the beach and restaurants - within walking distance. The seafront & harbour are stunning. Parking on the road is allowed. Save yourself $15.

Difficult to manoeuvre large suitcases due to narrow walkways and steep stairs to the second level. If you are not fit or have a disability a ground floor room is a must. No air con. For the price paid I expected air con. Initially the incorrect room key was provided which provided a poor initial experience. Breakfast options were very limited but ok to initially fuel you.

This was booked very last minute and I think I got really lucky! We had 6 hotels in 2 weeks and this was our favourite room for overall comfort and quality. The Inn was easy to find, parking was no problem at all, we were a 2 minute walk to the beach and right next to the zoo. Staff were friendly, helpful, locally knowledgable and welcoming. We arrived right in the middle of the atmospheric river that nearly ruined our trip - that said, we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable place to take cover!

The only negative point at this hotel was how basic the breakfast was. I know nobody forced us to have it - but compared to the 5 other properties we stayed at on the trip, the options here were noticeably sparse. Not bad, but don't expect a vast menu. I feel bad even mentioning it because otherwise the place was perfect (other than the weather)

Location to the beach was the best. Easy to go to downtown. Apart from the train (once to twice a day , we heard the tooting)we were not disturbed by traffic noise. Breakfast was well organised and had cereal, bagels, juices, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Sausage and egg Muffins were in the fridge. Bed was comfy and I slept well. I always preferred a fan to aircon. I love the double tap sink in my room The staff were hospitable and helpful

There were stair cases to climb to get to my room; my room to breakfast.

They allowed me to check in 3 hours early which was very nice. the Bed was sooo comfortable, heated pool, offered pool toys and floating. it’s the perfect location, beach was the next block over, walking distance. The gentleman was very informative at the front desk and very nice. Paid $15 for back parking but ended up in the front of the hotel on the sidewalk which was good too. Continental breakfast was great, cereal, muffins, oatmeal, coffee, hot chocolate, microwaveable breakfast items. I will be coming back to this hotel soon.

I have no complaints

It was nice to have breakfast available. Loved that we were able to bring our dog!! The proximity to the beach is perfect. I loved being able to walk the beach while my family slept. The beds were very comfortable. The room was very comfortable! I also loved the fireplace in the cool mornings. The kitchenette was so handy.

It wasn’t bad, but was a bit noisy. Fortunately people were respectful. The back gate was connected to our room and it provided a little noise as people went in and out. But it wasn’t bad at all.
