The breakfast was good (hot breakfast), the room was good and clean (just like the picture). I enjoyed the free parking (covered garage is small). Staff was friendly and polite.

I didn’t like the people that was hanging around the outside of the hotel, I’m not sure why there were so many people and kids sitting outside throughout the day and night, like it was their home. Definitely made me uncomfortable when I arrived because I wasn’t sure if it right location due the hotel sign says Best Western and underneath it had Chicago Lakeshore hotel. It made me second guess myself but when I entered the hotel it was very nice. I didn’t like I had to put a $100 deposit down even though I paid in advance. They stated it was only a hold and it will be released after checkout (if no damage) I was unaware of this and didn’t it this on site and the guy at the front desk was clueless when it came to locating this deposit on website.

Great location with free parking. walkable to Hyde Park restaurants, etc. Close to University of Chicago for visits/campus tours. Close to museums.

Breakfast was very basic (Perhaps a relic of Covid??). We were on the second floor which is over the garage and the floor was freezing cold. bathroom tile was jut uncomfortable to stand on due to the cold coming up from below.

location was great, the room was clean, and i liked having an exercise room -- having a refrigeration was helpful, as was having a big ironing table, an iron, and a hair dryer -- i was pleased that there would be no charge for the coffee in the room, and i liked the coffee machine in the lobby the french toast and the pancake-making machine were good the man behind the desk who helped me, friday night, was excellent

the breakfast was generally poor -- especially the scrambled eggs and hash browns the time on the clock-radio was way off -- i tried to adjust it -- couldn't find anything for that -- i asked at the front desk -- they didn't know how, and said that somebody would fixe it in the morning -- nobody did the clock at the check-in desk was 15 minutes behind

Everything was super amazing about this hotel. From location to cleanliness, room space, good vibe. fridge,microwave in room that helped a lot. The property is just super nice. Loved the breakfast too. Not too many options but quite enough to enjoy. Distance to every attraction is 20 mins. Free parking and free breakfast was added benefit which saved my money also.

Seriously nothing about this property can be disliked. All are simply awesome

The location is perfect to go in to the city, very easy access to everything. The breakfast was very good although it lacked variety from day to day. My room was very comfortable and clean, very nice hotel for the money. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Nothing really stands out, I was completely satisfied with the entire experience. The staff was courteous and professional, the grounds were well kept and there was adequate parking.

The desk receptionist was cordial and very helpful. Whatever question I had, they answered it with a smile. My room was changed because there was no chair and the tv was having difficulties; it was no problem.

The smell of marijuana in the halls but that’s at any hotel. There was litter in the elevator but I understand that the elevator can’t be monitored 24/7. So there’s nothing else; I was very pleased and I will return.

The hotel staff were great. Thank you to a wonderful staff at the hotel for correcting the mistake of the booking.com reservationist. It is a Best Western, but the "breakfast included" was just continental - prepackaged muffin, whole fruit, cereal and packaged oatmeal. Not what is pictured on the site. Not a huge problem, but it would be best to be forthcoming. It was great to have free parking!!!

The booking site was a hot mess and booked me the wrong room after being on the phone for over an hour. Once I arrived in Chicago and saw the incorrect room it was quickly fixed by the staff at the front desk. I needed a handicap accessible roll in shower room and they put me in a standard with a bathtub. The roll in shower needs better drainage as the water would run into the carpeted area of the bedroom and leave if wet. Over time this will really smell and bring out the mold.

The property was clean and offered meals at various times throughout the day. The staff was helpful and supportive, and I was always greeted with a smile (even late at night).

On maps, it appeared that there was a beach directly across the street, but it’s actually across a bridge/highway. Still a short walk, but should not be advertised like a beach is on the property itself.

Convenience to safe neighborhood. Front check-in hostess was very helpful. Access to coffee machine 24 /7 was wonderful…

Fire alarms going off intermittently during night with no explanation given. No offer incentive for inconvenience. Even if it were a mere $10.00 gesture…the breakfast area was way too small to accommodate numerous guests at a time.

It was vey clean, the staff was great, the breakfast options were great and kept filled up.

Only thing I didn’t like was the chair in the room. It was very comfortable BUT in leaned back so far you thought you were going to tip over. We had to have it against the table or bed so it wouldn’t tip so far.
