The hotel staff were awesome: we had a nightmare journey, our luggage didn't arrive. and they took pity on us an upgraded us to a suite. Our hire car was damaged the first night (on-street parking right outside, and the catalytic converter was stolen!) and they gave us free valent parking in a secure garage for the remaining 6 nights of our stay.
Our room wasn't properly serviced every day: only one or two bins were emptied, on 3 occasions we had to ask for fresh towels, and the coffee pods for the Nespresso machine were NEVER replenished. For all these issues, we called down to Reception and they resolved them very quickly. On our final night the room hadn't been serviced at all: we were given a free late checkout to compensate.

The bed was very comfortable. The linens were super and the pillows were generous (I like the king size pillows!). Loved the tall ceilings - they really give the room a feeling of spaciousness. Loved the wide entry way into the room. It felt very generous.
There was no mini-fridge?! It would have been nice to put our waters and dinner leftovers in a refrigerator. There were no coffee/tea supplies in the room?! I would've liked to have had a hot tea before dinner and a cup of coffee in the morning without having to go to the lobby. There could have been more towels and the shower and surrounding area did not appear as clean as it could have been. It appeared somewhat dirty.

Very nice clean and modern. Great location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. Free on street parking, they will bring you a fridge and microwave upon request for free. Breaking was very good.
I would still stay there but there is a design flaw with the bathroom. There is a frosted window between the bathroom and the bedroom. If whoever you are staying with wakes up first and turns on the bathroom light it lights up the whole bedroom. Stay with people who have similar sleep schedules or wear a mask on your eyes at night.

Fantastic location to attend my reunion. Room had great views and restaurant had good food and kind staff
The gym baseboards were filthy. Very dusty. They never answered the phone. We missed housecleaning and I was put on hold for 15 mins to ask for towels. My friend was meeting me for breakfast and I told her to call desk to ask about parking- they put her on hold for 25 mins. Some desk staff were rude or completely uninterested. Some were lovely. Never ordered room service because again never picked up phone

I chose this hotel because it was in the vicinity of the U of Chicago. It was a pleasant area, 15 min walk from the place I was working. The rooms were OK. I finally succeeded in asjusting the aircon, initially too cold. The restaurant can be summarized by the fact it was claiming to be "English". And yes it was...
Price was expensive, apparently as the whole city is now. The place was far from everything else. I rarely walked as much, which compensates in part the US diet. The really English character of the only eating place available; There was not too much in the vicinity where eating would have been possible. No real transportation available in the vicinity

Great location, surrounded by parks. Very safe, clean and great vibes from the staff
No mini fridge in the room. Not the end of the world, but it’s nice to have a a few cold drinks on hand when staying for a few days

The Study is located by the University of Chicago campus, with lots of green space upfront. It is a very well-appointed hotel with a clean, modern aesthetic. The staff is friendly, the morning coffee in the lobby is good, the hotel rooms are simple but spacious and tastefully designed. Free street parking near the hotel is a bonus.
Nothing, really. We didn't try the in-house restaurant Truth Be Told, so can't speak to the quality of food. If you want to be close to the University of Chicago campus and the Hyde Park area, as we did, it's a great location. While the area is well-policed, it's advisable to exercise caution while walking at night (although we never felt unsafe).

While the location was not ideal for our needs, everything else was really good. The room was well-appointed and comfortable. The view was lovely. Staff were great and very accommodating when we needed to drop bags off early. The food (breakfast) at the restaurant was really delicious and also a great space.
The staff at the restaurant (we went 2 times) were not particularly friendly. Service was incredibly slow. But the food was so good and location convenient that it was worth putting up with sub-par service both times. In terms of the room, it was clean but there were lots of wall marks and signs of use that showed some maintainance is needed.

Not only was the location great but the staff was AMAZING! Location was perfect. Close to the University of Chicago and the museum. Great places to eat at near by. The hotel restaurant was a nice option after a long day spent in the city.
Would've been nice if it included breakfast for the cost of the room. Since it was cold outside the room temp was fine. But it did get warm in the evening and we were not able to adjust the temperature in the room. Also their was no fridge in the room. When I called about it they said they would bring one up. At the point it would take so long for it to cool that it seemed like a waste of time. Maybe they should let you know that you need to request a fridge when you are making a reservation so it is set up when you arrive.
