The location is great, in French Quarter. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The restrooms + showers were the best I've experienced so far. The toilet and shower are located in a spacious room, so you have plenty of privacy and space to put your clothes etc. Total there is about 9? of those rooms, so I've never had to wait. The hangout area is big and offers pool table, table football (soccer for US fellas:), couches and books. The breakfast was nice, you can choose from pancakes, waffles, donuts, with butter, maple syrup, jam, peanut butter and fruit. Also good tasting orange juice, not some watered down alternative. During evening's happy hour, you get to meet other travellers in the hangout area playing card games and such. For those 21+, you can also get a free beer or wine. Shoutout to Strat who took us to the Karaoke bar, as part of the hostel events.

The rooms don't have windows, at least the one I've stayed in, so it is easy to lose track of time and sleep more than you'd like (if you don't have alarm set). And therefore also the lack of natural light. During the first night, the AC inside the rooms was very cold, but after talking to the staff, the situation got much better the following night. The temperature seemed to be less cold and I've also received a thicker blanket. If you want to check in "after hours", be sure to ask them in which bed you are supposed to sleep in (they have them numbered). I thought it's first come, first serve, but that was not the case, and I didn't have that info beforehand (if it was mentioned somewhere in the communication and I overlooked it, my apologies).

I loved the staff, always available to help, and involved in the events. Shout out to Brandon who was the best English teacher and the best guide in the streets of NOLA! I loved the lobby which is a central place in the hostel which is perfect to meet new people and start the party! They provide towel, shower gel/shampoo, breakfast and blanket if needed. Location is perfect in the French Quarter : 2 min away from Bourbon Street, from streetcar and bus, 25 min away from Frenchmen street, all by walk.

Fact that there is no window, the air conditioning is too cold and there is no curtain for the beds.

The location is very convenient on the edge of the French Quarter but not in the thick of it. The staff are always there to help and although the free breakfast is basic, it gets you up to start your day. The free happy hour inclusion and little nightly tours are great too

My room had no window. So having a sense of the day or someone who is in the room who sleeps during the day and wants the lights off is quite annoying. It’s also cold in the room and you can’t change this (just rug up in your blanket)

Beautiful place, very cozy, good atmosphere, staff is always there to take care 0f everything, very clean. Location close to the French quoter .a place to meet travelers from all around the globe.

Breakfast needs some upgrade, there is no lights near the beds or any other light beside the main one,no food allow in the rooms,no electrical outlet in the upper beds.it is not easy to find the entrance to the place, you can't leave a bag after Chek out more than an hour and a half.

Incredibly kind staff. They were knowledgeable of the area and gave great recommendations. I appreciated their all-gender bathroom setup-- it's something I wish most hostels would do. I also really liked their common area and the happy hour events.

The rooms didn't have clear rules re: quiet hours or a light schedule (lights would be off at 1 PM but on at like 1 AM sometimes). The rules and expectations we were given seemed to be for the hostel's common area. I could be mistaken, but I do recommend that the hostel makes those rules more clear.

The place is big and in the common areas they have a lot of services, a pool table, a foosball table, a smart tv and a fully equipped kitchen! The bathrooms are clean and I've never had problems finding a free one. But most of all, the staff is amazing! They all are very friendly, and I have felt like home hanging out with them and going to their events. Shout out to Victoria that has both helped me retrieve my water bottle and showed me a lot of fun things to do in the city! Really helpful!

Maybe the fact that the top bunk beds in the dorms are not as good as the bottom ones: the outlets are far, and there are often no shelves next to them to keep your belongings close to you.

The breakfast was amazing, consistent service throughout the day. Beside the food, warm conversations would spark as we were in the kitchen. The organized happy hour's were a highlight as well, I look forward to those meet-ups during my time at City House. The people were what made City House "City House", it was an amazing experience, I thank you all.

I didn't have any issues with the hostel, it was well-run and operated efficiently throughout my time.

We had a private room that had a bunk bed, which was comfortable. There is a big shared kitchen that was well equipped. Only the knives were very dull. Happy hour is from 7 pm to 8 pm with free drinks and board games, which created a great atmosphere and gave a chance to connect with other guests. After happy hour, there are events, like pub crawls or guided tours. The personal was very kind and helpful. Especially Lukas put in great effort in making sure we had a great stay.

The knives were so dull that it was not even possible to cut onions with them. We were lucky that we had our own pocket knive.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hostel. It's easily accessible by bus from the airport. The location is fantastic—within walking distance of Bourbon Street and close to most attractions, yet it's still very quiet at night. The hostel provides everything needed for a pleasant stay and offers evening activities. We took a walking tour of the French Quarter, which was very informative. A special thanks to Strat, who was always helpful and kind.

The big win here? It's so close to Bourbon St and the French Quarter. Everywhere else I looked was farther away. City House New Orleans was IN the middle of it all! City House New Orleans was so much more and so much better than I expected. I got there kind of late - 8pm-ish. They were just starting up free happy hour, so it was great to be Able to jump right in and meet other people. Shout out to the Aussies! And of course the free happy hour drinks didn't hurt. They provide breakfast in the morning. It was simple enough, but good selection. Had fruit, some carby options, juices. For the price I paid? It's a freaking no brainier.

New Orleans was pretty hot when I visited.
