The Customer service was great Eric was a great help to me and the whole staff that I met was very nice. The place is clean and smells clean they use real products. And I like you can bring and cook your food they have a whole setup a nice chill spot. This place is great for the price

The heater in the room needs to be upgraded or add another One it's no match for the cold weather in newyork. Because of the tall windows, I had to ask for another blanket. I closed the curtains it didn't work I slept in my clothes. I'll be back in the summer. My suggestion would be with a towel and blanket they give you you should get a towel bath mat. One person soaked up that 1 I don't like walking on wet floors and maybe provide a lock for the locker that goes with your room key. Upgrade the bunk beds to ones that are phone chargers Accessible since you are sharing a room with 3 other people and have Privacy curtains for the bunk beds That way, if you have to turn on a light you don't disturb them.

I loved that someone was at reception to take me in. It was exactly as advertised, and the common areas were cool. They even let me store my bags for the day after checkout, which was super. I may have paid a fee, I can't remember now.

When I came to collect my bags, I had to wee, so I rushed to the toilet. My boots were hurting my foot, so afterwards I just sat down for a minute to rest my foot (before collecting my bags and going on my way). But the guy at reception at the time appeared in front of me and started treating me like a criminal. He called me a liar, as if I had tricked him into accessing the common area for the toilet (which I had just used!) He tried to kick me out in a publicly humiliating manner in front of other guests, all the while I was limping. He asked me for my tags as if to suggest I was lying about that too, so I swiftly produced them. I understand squatting may be an issue at hostels in NY but I am not a squatter and did not appreciate being accused of being one. I was a guest after all.

Jennifer at check in was wonderful. Helpful, friendly, and went above. The place was clean, well located, and had all needed for a one night stay. Cool vault (from the old bank I am guessing) in the basement as a chill room.

The male at check out on the 18th. There were no signs for check out, I was not feeling well as was on my way to the Emergency Room. He had a nasty attitude. Granted he had no idea what I was going through, but that is more of a reason of how you treat someone. It is important because you don't know what people are dealing with. Once I spoke up, he calm down. Have Jennifer train him because she was just AWESOME!

The front desk person, Christine, was friendly and professional. She was very thorough in explaining the rules and regulations of the property. Although the check-in process was a bit tedious, Christine's calm and friendly demeanor made the process more than tolerable. At check-in, Q4 provides a fleece blanket and a towel, which must be returned upon check-out to avoid a fee charged to the credit card on file. The kitchen and common area, located in the basement, were clean and relaxing. The room I was assigned had six bunk beds, each with white sheets and a pillow. All of the guests I shared the room with were strangers; friendly and quiet. Q4 is less than a 5-minute walk from the Queensboro Plaza (7, N, R trains) and Queens Plaza (E, M, R trains) stations.

Q4 is close to the entrance and exit for the Queensboro Bridge, so you will experience longer waits when crossing the street.

Good Place, nice room and budget friendly. Just across a big grocery store and right above the train station. easy to go to Mahatan.

People do not clean in the The Kitchen. If the hostel knows about this , more regular cleaning should be provided by the establishment.

The hostel is precisely as advertised. It is a spartan type of accomodation that is very conveniently located in LIC. Proximity to the E train is fantastic. Plenty of groceries and a food hall nearby. The bedroom was adequately clean with a soft bunk bed. Power outlets were available nearby and a modestly sized locker offered secure storage (bring your own lock). The halls and rooms did not smell bad.

If you don't prefer the sound of trains, bring a means of blocking out noise. I loved this aspect of the hotel, but others may disagree.

High ceilings means that it feels bigger and the room wasn't overcrowded with beds. A large communal kitchen with plenty of appliances, dishes & cutlery to use. Excellent connections to Manhattan and JFK via two subway stations nearby. Queens Plaza station has elevators and goes to Jamaica station for the JFk Airtain.

Like a lot of hostels in older buildings, there's no elevator, so unless you book a place in a four bed room you'll be carrying your luggage upstairs.

If you are only looking for a place to sleep over while you explore New York, this place is more than sufficient. While not fancy, Q4 is a good place for resting after a long day of walking. It is also very close to the subway and Ed Koch Bridge, making Manhattan very accessible. The staff is young, helpful, and approachable, and there is a food market right next to the Hotel.

We couldn't lock our suitcases anywhere. Luckily, I came with friends, so we felt pretty safe about our stuff. However, if staying in the hotel, the guest must find a way to secure their luggage.

This hostel in Long Island City has a convenient location right near Queens Plaza, putting Manhattan easily within reach. The hostel itself is well-maintained and clean. The staff is not overly friendly but they are professional and efficient. The dorm beds are basic yet comfortable, with all the essentials provided for a decent night's sleep. The large kitchen has every appliance and tool you could need to cook for yourself. The lounge area offers plenty of spots to unwind, use the free and fast WiFi, and chat with fellow travelers. For those on a budget, the money-saving self-catering options and proximity to Manhattan make this a great value. Q4 remains a top choice when staying in NYC. I would certainly return to this hostel next time I visit the area.

I had to store my luggage in a store luggage in Manhattan at last day of my trip, because the staff didn't accept to store my luggage there. My returning flight is only 10:30 PM.
