Great location with a short walk to the downtown area and parking on site. Food trucks set up in the back with affordable and easy meal options as well as a beer truck! Tables and couches for lounging.

Only one bathroom upstairs

We enjoyed our stay! The kids had fun in the yard and the evenings with live music was real nice. It is a cozy hostel and felt very safe and social. The beertoken is a nice welcoming touch and the breakfast items in the kitchen was generous.

The airquality in the room was bad and the carpet smelled of dust and smoking. It triggered some allergies and headaches with some of us. I understand that it comes with the territory of many guests and an old historic house, so not a dealbreaker!

Lovely people, free breakfast, sauna and bathhouse was clean and nice, lots of cute hang out areas, 5 min walk to downtown Bend.

Kitchen and bathrooms get a bit crowded with staff and guests, but everyone was very nice and respectful!

This is a very different type of place to stay on booking, com, so it's hard to compare to other hotels. This is a hostel in downtown bend and of a slightly upscale hostel quality. So if you look at the negative side, the comfort side (bed quality, shared bathroom, etc.) is what you would expect from a hostel, but you are paying hotel prices. So why stay, here? Because you are paying for the experience. Where else do you get a beer token at check-in? Hostels breed conversation and during our stay, we met two retirees from Arkansas touring the West Coast. a hiker from Australia and a guy from Wisconsin who had been traveling for 3 years. We were there for a Grateful Dead tribute band and Karaoke night all in the hostel backyard. A backyard that has a beer truck and a Mexican food truck no less. If you want to stay at the DoubleTree, you probably should not stay here as a substitute, but if you want an adventure, this is your place.

This was my first time staying in a hostel, it was very nice and everyone and the place was very friendly. They even had breakfast and gave me a complementary beer token when I arrived.

The beds were not bad I slept really well, it was just a little hard for me to get into the top bunk and I didn’t exactly asked to trade anybody with the bottom. Fun even though I’m tall clothing things is not easy at all the time. This is definitely a place for able-bodied people, although I’m sure they might have accessibility options. If not now then they probably will soon.

Great location

There was only one bathroom in the building where the dorms were and the shower was out of service. The other facilities were in another building. OK for the day but a bit scary at night as the courtyard is open and anyone can walk through, ie:general public

I appreciated the casual and community driven atmosphere. The live events such as karaoke and music performances made filling time on nights off a breeze not to mention the quick walk downtown. Amenities such as food trucks, beer purveyor, small book exchange and streaming services are highly appreciated. Best stay between here and Texas.

Some staff very judgmental of guests and were not shy about voicing their opinions of patrons. That being said I understand an extra layer of caution and discretion must be considered for this more intimate type of lodging than say a more commonplace hotel/motel. I will certainly stay again and support bunk and brew anyway I can though for other travelers this aspect should be kept in mind if you're uncomfortable with a more communal, less private style of lodging.

Free beer token was an excellent perk. Staff and other guests were friendly. I enjoyed a variety of good conversation.

The hot water knob in my building’s shower was missing. I had to come up with a creative solution when I was expecting a zero effort shower experience.

The 1960s / 1970s vibe was amazing. The people were amazing and welcoming. Haven't been to a hostel like this since back in the day.

There's literally no heat in the room. It was freezing. The loner heater didn't work, but they did give me a bunch of extra blankets.
