Upon checking in the front desk lady was very cheerful and helpful. Every staff member we encountered were very friendly. The room had a nice window, small what small but we did not mind. Convenient to the trains especially if you are going to a game or concert. The area seems safe and very cute neighborhood. They have a nice sitting area for morning coffee, bagels/croissants and fruit. Definitely will return while visiting Philadelphia.

This is not the hotels fault-parking is expensive in Philadelphia. You do get a 10 percent off-ask them to give you a stamp on your parking ticket.

The Alexander Inn is a historic building with much of its charm intact. It's in a wonderful neighborhood full of cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries that is a destination in itself, but also with convenient access to most of Philadelphia's "attractions." I gave it 10 stars—and it is 10 stars for an older historic property. Don't expect super-modern rooms or shiny new fixtures, but do expect old-fashioned excellent customer service and a stellar location. There are real glasses in the room (not plastic-enclosed plastic cups). We had a Queen Deluxe room which is on a corner of the building with views in two directions. The breakfast buffet offers a selection of cereals & pastries and the coffee is excellent. The same dining room at 5 p.m. is set up for a "wine social" with wine, beer, and a beautiful array of goodies like fresh berries, nuts, chocolates, veggies and more. Every person on the staff was over-the-top helpful and kind. We loved it.

For me the mattress was a bit firmer than I prefer, but not uncomfortable. Otherwise, nothing negative.

The location is superb for exploring Philly - walking distance to museums and many sites. The staff was so sweet and helpful- went out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The social hour with wine, beer and snacks was very much appreciated. Room was very clean, and the soap products smelled great!

Probably typical for a city location, but the room was small. Had to be careful to not to hit your head on bathroom sink when getting up from the toilet! 😛 The TV was blurry - probably could use an upgrade. Also seemed to have volume set at 25? I mentioned to staff upon checking out that the bathroom sink faucet needs a new cartridge as you had to pull it with both hands. They immediately wrote it down to be fixed. Otherwise, room was small but comfortable and very clean!

Excellent location in a charming neighborhood, within walking distance to pretty much everything important. 10/10 Lovely receptionist when we checked in, unfortunately I don't remember her name or I would give her a personal shout-out. 10/10 Complimentary wine and cheese happy hour and breakfast. Not a huge choice, but it does the truck and it's a nice bonus, especially considering the price of the room. 8/10 Room was nice and fairly spacious, we even had space to sit around the table and play a family game. The beds were comfy, could have been slightly bigger but all good overall. Bathroom was small (this was expected), but functional and had everything we needed. Shower had good pressure. 8/10

Rooms were a bit dated, but nothing I would really complain about.

The staff! Every single person with whom we interacted went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Jay, at the front desk, helped us sort out an error we had made when booking and helped us get a more comfortable space. Two other front desk associates helped us when our plans allowed us to book for an additional night. Housekeeping staff were friendly and warm, gave advice on places to see and routes to take, and kept our room clean and comfortable. I was beyond impressed with every staff member at this hotel and will absolutely stay again. The location is also great!

We weren’t thrilled with the cost of parking, but it’s going to be the case with any hotel in the city, so it’s just one of those things for which you need to budget.

Location. 100% it's Location. Very close to everything that is tourist/walking distance. Loved the restaurant and pubs around it for late night drinks

Breakfast. It's pretty much nonexistent. I don't think they should advertise that it offers Breakfast. When we came down. All they had was toast, baggels and cereal. Coffee and juice too. That's it. Parking. On this app it says that it has parking but that's just not true. It has a 10% discount when you park over night at this parking lot 4 blocks away from the hotel. We ended up spending an extra $50 on parking alone.

-More affordable than hotels in the local area (but still a considerable amount) -Walkable distance to metro & buses -Different facilities nearby such as cafes & small corner shops -Close to the Old Town. -Responsive staff -Great wine & cheese evenings

-Mediocre to low-end breakfast. Too much of the sweet treats whereas something energetic that could help you active for a few hours is lacking. I felt like they could swap the "wine & cheese" evenings with the breakfast and this would do. -The street is noisy but the staff was kind enough to provide earplugs -Definitely a bit dated property but well-maintained

Loved the location and staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel had drinks meet and greet in the early evening where we met folks from different areas of the Country. We came in a rental car and there was a parking garage just down the street next to a CVS and Starbucks. We walked from/back to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell - everything was located less than a miles away - with lots of things to look at while walking there.

Room was a little small - but already knew that before I booked. Then again, I wasn't there to sit in my room.

Art Deco decor and the location of the hotel in the city's central historic district. Staff was friendly and aimed to please, for example, providing an extra blanket for me given that the central heat hadn't yet been turned on.

Faucet in bathroom difficult to operate. The rooms need a fresh coat of paint. More lighting is needed in the room. One additional table lamp would probably suffice. There was a pile of dirty towels left in the corridor on my floor for more than 24 hours.

The place was beautiful, clean and the staff were friendly. Also , they had a free wine tasting in the lounge the evening I stayed there, not sure if they do it every evening but either way was a great way to relax after a busy day.

The flat screen TV in my room was pretty small and a really old model, don't usually complain about things like that but with how nice everything else was I was surprised they had a TV like that. Also, the phone in my room did not work. I checked to see if the cord was plugged into the wall and found that the cord was completely cut in two.
