I am a return guest and will stay again on my next Hanoi trip. It is a small hotel in the heart of the old quarter. On arrival you are greeted by a big smiling welcome. The rooms are nice and clean and have a super comfy bed. The brekky is a great way to start the day. A special mention to Mike and Chloe....love your work 😁

Great location, lovely breakfast, very comfortable and amazing staff. Really enjoyed our stay @ The West Hotel and Spa. Special shout out to Chloe and Lyn at Reception who are so professional and were so amazing in looking after our every need. They were a highlight of our stay. Mike the manager was in contact directly after our booking and ensured we were taken care of from the moment we landed at the airport to check out. We have already rebooked for three nights prior to leaving Vietnam. Great time, amazing staff and looking forward to staying again very soon 😃

The helpfulness and excellent customer service of the staff, especially Travis who went out of his way to help me resolve a credit card billing issue with a merchant. He even called the merchant to seek clarification on my behalf. He also recommended a few restaurants nearby for our dinner which turned out to serve excellent food. Chloe and another guy (didn't get his name) at the reception were very helpful too. Location was excellent as it was close to everything. We were lucky that there was a night market selling crafts, food and souvenirs right in front of the hotel on the Sunday we were staying there. The train station is about 800m away.

On our first night, we stayed on the 6th floor. The water pressure for the shower was very low and showering was very slow. We were subsequently given another room on the 4th floor after our return from a night's start at Halong Bay. The second was much better. There's no space in the bathroom to place our toiletries. This seems to be the problem with all the Hanoi hotels that we stayed in. Breakfast was meh. Better to skip the breakfast and eat at the one of the many eateries nearby.

Service wise, we'd say that West Hotel and Spa never failed us. Sir Mike and Ms. Chloe, as well as their crews were attentive to their guests' needs. For the location, it's easy to find and is situated at the heart of old quarter. You can reach some tourists spot, cafés, and restaurants by foot. Also, the night market which happen from Friday to Sunday is near the hotel. But it's not that noisy during that time. As for the family room where we stayed at was clean, spacious, and well-equiped. Not to mention the early check-in and early check-out process were smooth. We'll definitely book the hotel again if we come back to Hanoi.

Chloe the Manageress was an excellent hostess. Her recommendations for restaurants were very good she even booked one of them for us. She also printed off important documents for us, and booked transport to the airport. Their system for refilling glass water bottles for our rooms was very good and saved on plastic. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The breakfast was very good.

Unfortunately there was traffic noise - but that is because of the location. Also, the local tannoy system, giving announcements was opposite our hotel- but this only operated twice a day for 10 minutes each.

Wonderful location, central to everything. We were in the middle of Old Quarter and right by the Hoan Kiem lake (3min walk) so all the lively festivities were within walking distance from us, if not right outside the building. On the weekend, there's a night market too that was happening right outside in front of the hotel. With all that, and we stayed here the night that Vietnam won their soccer match against Thailand so everybody was celebrating on the streets, so you'd think it'd be too noisy to sleep. But our room was pretty quiet and we didn't have any noise issue! It was actually really fun seeing the locals celebrating. Our room was really nice and clean, with good use of space. The property has an elevator which was great for moving all of our luggage in and out. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was delicious (really recommend trying the egg rolls). They even had pho as well if you ask. Overall, an exceptional stay and we'd definitely stay here again next time we visit Ha Noi!

Perfect location for exploring the Old Quarter. Great for those who are looking to enjoy some of the Michelin rated restaurants in the area or famous cafes like Cafe Giang. All the staff are friendly and helpful, especially Ms Chloe and Mr Tom who always greeted us with a smile and offered to give directions or recommendations for places to go. The weekend night market is in front of the property as well, so you can just roll out of bed for some night shopping.

This place is in the middle of the old Quarter. Very central to everything. What made our stay, was the staff. Chloe and Liin were only to happy to help with taxis, recommendations, tours etc. Leo was also super helpful. They were always on hand to help with everything with big friendly smiles. Breakfast was good with a decent variety of food and rooms were clean and tidy, like the photos. Would stay here again. If visiting Hanoi.

It's a bit old, but we'll looked after and good value / great service for the price.

We start and ended our Vietnam trip in Hanoi with The West Hotel, and they have definitely make our trip memorable. All the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful, provided us with amazing service throughout our stay. Mike has promptly contacted us before our trip, and recommended us with an enjoyable and value to money 2D1N Ha Long Bay cruise trip. They kindly offered us their spa room to rest and tidy up when we returned from Sapa in the midnight, and prepare us for the Ha Long Bay trip with their hotel breakfast, making the gap between two journeys comfortable for us. The hotel is located in the middle of old quarter which is very convenient, but at the same time quiet enough when we were in the room. The hotel staff offered us fruits for our nights with them, and also in take away cup when we leaving to airport (so heartwarming and cute)!

The location was superb. Right in the heart of the night market ( but the hotel sound proofing was exceptional) in the buzz of the old quarter yet we were able to stroll to the lake, main market, St Nicholas Cathedral & Train Street. Breakfast was good, WiFi strong and our front street room with balcony and room fridge was brilliant. Staff could not have been more friendly in particular ‘Mike’ front of house manager. Do not be fooled by the narrow frontage to street, as this is typical of Hanoi buildings, as the hotel is surprisingly big. Our room displayed the Vietnamese flag on our balcony…..see photos.
