We liked so much about this place. The room was large and spacious, the bed was the most comfy in our whole trip, the shower had filtered water, we loved the balcony off the bedroom. Everything feels recently refurbished - lovely tiled floors, modern bathrooms. The family who run it are so helpful. We used their services for laundry which was fast, good value and excellent quality. we also booked the trip to My Son through them which we loved and was the same price as other tours. They helped us with restaurant ideas too. The location is convenient to the old town - 10 mins walk or five mins on the cycles which are free. Delicious omelette at breakfast!!

We stayed for five nights with our family at this lovely homestay, which is within comfortable walking distance of the old town yet tucked away in a tranquil neighborhood on the quieter Cám Nam Island. The location is perfect for travelers wanting to explore the vibrant bustle of Hoi An while having a peaceful retreat to unwind in the evening. The property itself is unique—a tastefully renovated building surrounding an atrium with an incredible collection of bonsai trees cultivated by the owner, as well as a swimming pool. The breakfast area is set under a roof with a beautiful view of the bonsai garden. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and serviced daily. We stayed in a spacious family room with three wide beds, two small balconies offering lovely views of the atrium, an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fans, a fridge, and a kettle—everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owners and staff were exceptional—friendly, accommodating, and genuinely caring. Their incredible service stood out during a moment when we needed extra support due to a minor health issue with our daughter. They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, providing assistance and flexibility that made a significant difference in helping us get back on track quickly. Breakfasts were made to order from a menu, served promptly, and consistently fresh and delicious. The homestay also offers convenient amenities, including laundry service, bicycle rentals, and assistance with arranging tours. We would highly recommend Bonsai Homestay to any travelers seeking a convenient location for exploring Hoi An and a quiet, relaxing place to return to after a busy day.

The family that run the hotel are like loved Uncle and Auntie's- you order breakfast the day before to help out and come time to have breakfast it is ready to eat in the beautiful bonsai garden with a pond full of large Koi fish. My son got sick, they always enquired, gave us extra supplies, and genuinely cared. They can organise anything you need, and when it came to leave, they came to our cabs door and waved goodbye. You can walk to the night markets and the old part of town really easily, it's about 1.5 km's. The streets are being re-laid, so you may have a little walk to the hotel but it's worth it.

The shower system is a bit unusual, but you can work it out quickly enough.

The staff were so attentive. Autumn the owner was so helpful. She booked our night train and was there to answer all of our questions. Breakfast was delicious and bikes were available at no charge to use anytime. The pool was beautiful and such a relief after being out in the heat. The location was excellent as it was so quiet at night and just a short walk/ride away from the markets. Lots of good local restaurants on this side of the river with great food and good prices. The bonsai’s were an amazing feature of the property.

Only stairs to get to upper levels which was fine for our family so if you can’t do stairs make sure you request ground floor.

Our experience at this hotel was exceptional from start to finish. Check-in was incredibly easy, and we were even able to check in as early as 9 AM, which was a lovely surprise! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome right away. The hotel looked just as beautiful as it did in the pictures. We were delighted with the peaceful atmosphere and the gorgeous garden, which added a touch of tranquility to our stay. We also requested an airport transfer, and for a small additional fee, we had a driver waiting for us at the airport, which was very convenient and made the whole process much smoother. One of the standout features was the laundry service—they offer laundry, which was a great convenience for us during our stay. The hotel is located in a quiet area, just a short walk to the city centre, so you get the best of both worlds: easy access to the city's attractions, but a calm and relaxing environment to return to at the end of the day. Overall, I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

The only downside was that they charged a 3% fee for card payments, which I wasn’t happy about.

We stayed at Bonsai Villa Hoi A for 2 nights, and it was perfect - there are plenty of beautiful bonsai, as promised in the name. The room was cozy, it had everything we needed. The host was lovely, she recommended places to visit, provided us with a lot of tips and let us check in early. She also helped us getting a taxi to the airport when we were leaving. The breakfast is great, it is not a buffet, you order a night before. There are plenty of delicious options. The property is about 10 mins walk (if you walk really slow cause you’re taking photos) from the ancient town. Which is great, because it’s close enough but very quiet, so you can get some rest away from all the noise of the city. We loved our stay at Bonsai Villa Hoi An, and we’ll definitely stay there again when visiting Hoi An.

This is the second time we've stayed at Bonsai Villa, and once again we had an outstanding stay. The rooms are clean, functional and cleaned regularly. The selection for breakfast is great, we were even given samples of some unfamiliar food to try along with our ordered breakfast. The staff are lovely, extremely helpful and friendly, and the owner is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She helped us arrange excursions, and get our laundry done. The room service menu also offers delicious pizzas that come quickly. Bonsai villa is just a 10 minute walk into the heart of Hoi An, and there is a small supermarket, some spas, bars and restaurants very close by. We had a great stay and will definitely be back.

Room was clean, comfortable and large. Towels and blankets good, mini fridge worked excellent, A\C very good and quiet. Pool area was nice with comfortable lounge chairs. Breakfast had the usual choices for Vietnam, good quality, great service. Staff friendly and helpful. Quiet location. The numerous bonsai trees on display were amazing. I would stay here again. Relatively easy walk to the busy area, maybe 10 minutes.

You have to cross a bridge to ancient town, a bit narrow when traffic is busy, but most streets are like that in Vietnam.

Excellent family run hotel. The staff of very helpful both with needs and recommendation on what to do. The pool is a must in the Hoi An heat. The room are spacious and modern. A/C and showers are very good. Unlike many rooms in Vietnam the electricity stays even if you leave the room which means you can come back to a cool room. The family room is two adjoining rooms so you get plenty of space and privacy.

Hoi an is a short walking distance away ~5min but you have a cross a bridge. If you use a stroller like we did then it is a bit of an issue, otherwise you are fine as the bridge has narrow sidewalks.

Beautiful place, with a nice cosy garden with a swimming pool and lots of bonsai trees. Very nice couple that owns the Bonsai Villa. They have 2 little dogs and our son (3y) loved playing with them. They also gave our son bread to feed the fish. We asked to book an extra day and it was no problem and could even check out later (we had to take a night bus). So very good service 👌 Location was perfect, away from al the busy streets, but less then a 1 km walk to get to the old town. Good (soft) beds and good shower.
