Def One of the best hotel in Sydney!
The front desk who serves us is worst when I request for an upgrade! and she was annoyed as i keep on going down as our phone in room doesn’t have a dial tone! I know it coz she was happy serving the person in front of me, and when it’s my turn to ask again about the upgrade of the room and the phone not working, no hi no hellos she just wait for me to say something first! well done!

Location is A+ so close to everything! If you have children there's an icecreamery, restaurants, massive playground, museum all within under 10mins walk from hotel. The added bonus of having the 'Convention' tram station right opposite the hotel is a huge bonus. Buffet breakfast is amazing so many options esp for kids and the pool was a fave for sure!
The view of our twin bed room facing the carpark side. We unfortunately were given a room on 6th floor due to a business conference on at the time. I wish I paid the extra for the harbour side view as the other leaves much to be desired.

If you come for the conference that takes place in ICC the location of Sofitel Darling Harbour is just perfect- it's in the immediate vicinity. The rooms are clean and there is a certain standard belonging to 5* hotels, unfortunately, many things do not meet the standard and need improvement. I would like to thank the extremely kind waitress Jenn, who saved my breakfast when I had been waiting for 20 minutes already for the coffee and eggs I ordered. Mathilde at the room breakfast was also very welcoming.
1. The room windows were extremely dirty which disturbed the view from the window. 2.Located right next to ICC, the hotel can be considered as a business hotel . Unfortunately there is absolutely no peaceful place to work or to e-meeting provided. 3. Service during breakfast is chaotic; it happens that your order is forgotten(see above). One day the dishes from the table were collected by a completely untrained waiter in stained private clothes- I don't blame him, it's the fault of the restaurant manager. 4. It's temporary, but there is a large construction site right next to the hotel - it's dusty and noisy, jackhammers are working and you can hear it despite the "soundproof" windows.

The location was great and the staff were very friendly. The bed was comfortable also. The room service was very good. We enjoyed the daily clean of the room, and the amenities at the hotel. The pool and the roof top was great.
The pillows were great initially but due to being duck down, they went flat straight away. Something to support the neck abit more would have been ideal. The open breakfast buffet was very BLAND. VERY BLAND. It basically tasted like food heated up in a packet. We ordered fresh omelettes every morning and had toast as everything else tasted very 'fake' and processed.

Staff: friendly and helpful. Hotel Location: is close to Sydney CBD and Darling Harbour at its doorstep. Its position is next to the Sydney Conference Convention Centre which is handy for trade shows and access to all that Darling Harbour has to offer. Transport: It has the light rail and the hop on and off bus at it's door step Disability Accessible: Can fit a standard sized wheelchair on site and in the rooms. Food: I recommend the breakfast inclusion it's amazing and making a reservation at Atlier Restaurant inside the complex its unforgetable. Views: All of darling harbour Room: Beds are comfortable, storage excellent, Bathrooms well equiped and and covid friendly. All room ameniteis are located in the draws and have a small minibar with a fridge and all your morning coffee/tea needs. Facilites: pool area with bar is clean, gym overlooks darling harbour and are all lovely, clean and well managed
Room: Level 5 room 504 wasn't a city view it was a view of a parking a lot and Novotel swimming pool, light rail below. Annoyed because I booked in Sep 2022 paid for in full Oct 2022 and would have actually liked a city view. Room Level Transparency: If you have rooms that have a view of a parking lot then it should be advised especially when paying $2,000 for the stay. Room Smell: The room also had a strong sulfur smell at night.

I absolutely love this hotel! The access to the lounge was amazing. we didn't know what to expect as a Muslim couple that doesn't drink. But we were offered coffee and cakes on arrival. a separate check in line. The room was good, the view was nice, the afternoon tea sandwiches were delicious. Pool was so small for the number of guests on Australia day so we didn't even get to swim. there's a good selection of restraunts and cafes very close by and the view of the harbor was nice at night!
We waited in an almost 40minute long line and until we got to the front desk, we did not know that we could have skipped the line and checked in on a different level for people with access to the lounge. We wish that was more obvious. There isn't much convince stores or late-night snack places nearby and the in-room dining was a little expensive. Pool was so small for the number of guests on Australia day so we didn't even get to swim.

Very nicely presented. Beautiful suite.
The staff, though mostly attentive, the service in club millesime was SO slow!!!! So slow that it felt like we’d been forgotten. The club could do with either more staff or better training. Some instances with them were downright rude. Being pounced upon for a room number when you can’t access that floor without a card. It’s one thing to be asked but aggressively? Just all round long waits and crowded. Tables rarely cleared. Being judged if you need more sugar. Some foods, like sugar, felt like they were being rationed! Water was gate-kept in a way. And asking for hot food for breakfast took a lifetime to arrive. Even when I said I was in a rush. It was a bizarre experience that felt anything but 5 star.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Champagne Bar. The staff were attentive and lovely
There was a long wait to check in. There were only a few in line and 3 staff checking in so it should have been quick. But one customer took up more than 20 mins and I wonder if there is a way to deal with problem issues in another way. These things can happen of course but it was made worse by one of the other 2 remaining staff leaving the front desk and when he returned he was shuffling papers and not attending to those waiting. Also there was no apologies for the long wait

We wanted to REALLY like our 3 night stay at the Sofitel and for the most part it was great! The location was delightful, with super access to Darling Harbour! The room was clean, fairly spacious and noiseless at night, with a fairly comfortable bed… the pool was pleasant, although a strange shape, and the gym was adequate for most gym-going-needs!! The food at breakfast was ample and tasty enough and for a first foray into Sydney life, it was good overall.
The question to always ask is if you returned to a location, would you stay here? For us, it was a ‘no’. Our room view was of a road, the staff weren’t very helpful at breakfast and the lobby wasn’t inviting at all, especially when it’s cold. It was also very expensive and they offered limited local information… we did enjoy our stay, but that wasn’t directly related to our hotel experiences!!
