Breakfast wasn't provided. Room was a good size, clean and well laid out. A good size, clean bathroom with a good shower. I didn't expect daily servicing which was an added bonus. Perfect for a short stay. Close to esplanade and restaurants and art gallery, museum etc. I didn't hire a car so enjoyed the short walks everywhere.

My only criticism and this applies world wide. There are never enough hooks, rails in bathroom to hang up toiletries bag close to mirror. Our bathroom only had hooks for towels so couldn't spread them along a towel rack to dry them out. Would have liked 2 keys as we did separate things but I am sure they would have given me one if I had asked. A charging port at table instead of sink area as I don't like putting my devices anywhere near water.

I find it hard to find good value accommodation in Cairns and often stay at more “luxury” places than I usually choose in other destinations just so I can have a clean safe room. Finally I found a great place that doesn’t cost a fortune and that place is Escape on Lake. Comfortable, spacious and well equipped with microwave, crockery and all my needs met. The air con was fantastic and the windows were appreciated. Excellent central location as well. I will stay here again on future visits to Cairns.

As other reviews have mentioned, the issue with the shower water running out onto the bathroom floor does exist. It is quite a lot of water and unavoidable. Made me want a mop! I bought cheap sponges so I could soak it up and squeeze it down the drain. My only complaint but the positives and good value made up for it. Also be aware, especially solo female travellers, that if you want to sit outdoors there is no outside area on the property so at night time if you sit out the front there can be some unsavoury men walking by and harassing you which is unfortunately a significant issue in Cairns city.

We enjoyed our stay and we loved Cairns. We appreciated and liked that our room was serviced every day with clean towels etc and it was clean and fresh. We were there for a week. Location is fantastic and we felt safe in the motel as its upstairs and private. Motel had everything we need and would highly recommend.

There was only 1 chair at the table. Should be 2. Shower water spread out onto floor in bathroom. Husband is a light sleeper so was often woken by noisy people yelling or arguing in the street during the night.

The room was comfortable, well priced and had everything we needed. The location was very central and close to shops, train station, bus stop and the Esplanade. After hours check in instructions were clear and I had no problem. I would definitely recommend Escape on Lake to others.

The only problem was that there was automatic lighting when coming in the first entrance at night. Not sure if a bulb had blown or the switch had been turned off. It was hard to see before the auto light came on at the top of the stairs.

Very close to the main tourist strip, but quieter street -- which is great. Spacious room. No view from my room; opening the curtains would meaning having a mechanic look right at you, but nice enough with sheer curtains. There were some ants, and they sent the housekeeper the next morning. She sprayed, added ant traps, and tidied up, which is great. There's really nothing else you can do about ants in the summer. Very responsive. Great stay!

The property is centrally locatted, near to the centre of Cairns and only 15 minutes driving from the airport. The staff was super friendly and really helpfull during our stay. The daily housekeeping that they did in the room was great as well.

The room didn't have a good view, you can only see a parking from the room but we didn't bother about it all.

It's very reasonable for what you pay at a very good spot, and It's very clean, and checking out is extremely convenient.

Walls are very thin, you can hear people talking very easily, fortunately whilst my stay however i didn't have noisy people around. Those pillows are a bit hard, probably hard enough to knock me out, actually, but not a big deal for me but might be for some others.

Room is up a few stairs, there is a queen size bed and plenty of linen, but not much hanging space the kitchen area is small but OK. The property is managed by A1 car rentals their car prices seem good and staff were quite pleasant. The position was good close to the beach and buses. The main shopping centre was about 700 metres away.

The location is good and within walking distance to the restaurants. The exterior building itself is not appealing and to be honest I was very nervous about what we were going to find inside. But I was pleasantly surprised because the rooms are large, quiet and spotlessly clean. Absolutely no complaints about the comfort of the rooms.

You so have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs but it’s not a massive deal.

The room was spacious-enough for the two of us. The location is really good, being fairly centrally located. The check-in process was really smooth and the hosts were kind enough to let us check in early.

The building itself seemed a little dodgy when seen from outside. Although it had zero impact on what our experience was like.
