It was a really lovely and unique place. We had a late check in, but the operator left us a thoughtful letter to welcome us. They are also very nice to upgrade us to a bigger ground level room. It was a very spacious, clean and beautiful room. Every corner of the house was nicely decorated and picture perfect. They even have the floor heating system to keep you warm. The shower room was big and very relaxing to have a warm bath after a long day of travel. The TV allows u to turn to face the bed and enjoy Netflix. Overall, it was wonderful place to have a great rest. The house seems to be a historical building, it was decorated with beautiful artworks the local artists. And when you climb up to the tower top, we can see the beautiful overview of Hobart.

my only hope was i could able to know how to access the microwave for some late night dinner

Absolutely everything. Gorgeous room, super comfy beds, lovely view and amazing bathroom! Very roomy too. Continental breakfast was lovely too with awesome service from Bojan. It was perfect for our girls weekend away celebrating my daughter’s upcoming wedding. Bojan and Jake were amazing looking after us as well. Nothing was too much trouble. Greatly appreciated ☺️

It git a little blowy one night due to the weather which woke us with the blinds banging against the window. Not a serious concern though and not a fault of the accommodation

The wheelchair accessible room was big enough and the bathroom was well equipped with space next to the toilet and a strong fold down shower seat. The room was tidied every day and rubbish taken away. The staff was friendly and helpful. Access from the car park to our hotel room was good. It was great to be able to step into the garden from our room. I was in awe of the view every time we drove up to the hotel; a majestic building with Mount Wellington as backdrop.

- We would have liked a permanent doorstop (one that clicks in) for the hotel room. It is hard to get suitcases inside when you have to open the door with a key all the time, and push a wheelchair inside while holding the door open. The same for the bathroom door. - There was no decaffeinated coffee or herbal tea for breakfast. - The fridge was a little too small to put things in for the next day. (we had to leave early most mornings before breakfast was served in the dining room.)

The room was exceptionally spacious yet cosy and comfortable. The bathroom was also very spacious and it also had heated tiles and twin basins. The views of the garden were especially good and the position of the room also provided excellent views of the surrounding area, Kunanyi (Mt. Wellington) was also easily visible from the grounds. Additionally the recently introduced breakfast service was available to us on our first morning and was excellent.

There was a light switch which seemed to be non-functional, possibly damaged from prior guests. This was mentioned to the hosts and they were very apologetic (even though this was not an issue and did not detract from our stay) so it has probably been fixed.

Room was lovely, with a separate area with an electric kettle, small frig, sink and espresso machine. Also dishes, knives/forks/spoons, and both wine and water glasses. Lovely view of the garden. Best of all, it is VERY QUIET.

It's a bit far from the Central Business District, with museums, harbor and the Salamanca market, but for us, it was worth exchanging for the quiet and comfort that the Maylands Lodge provided.

Maylands is a hidden gem located in New Town. Close to the heart of Hobart, Maylands offers guests 5-Star suites within a magnificent mansion built in the 1880s. As a listed heritage building it does not have lifts but our suitcases were carried up two flights of stairs by the most pleasant young man who greeted us on arrival. There is plenty of on-site parking available.

Exceptionally clean and tranquil rooms, enhanced by heated floors and elegant interior design, provided a perfect retreat. Highly recommend for a serene and comfortable stay.

While the stay was near-perfect, the breakfast selection left something to be desired. A wider variety of options, including eggs and omelettes, would enhance the experience.

The room was spacious, including an amazing bathroom with large shower and "footed" bathtub. The area was very quiet, but a bit of a walk into the main part of Hobart. Still, we enjoyed the walk. There was also a big shopping center nearby, with a large Coles and a "Dan Murphy's", where the assistants were very knowledgeable about wine -- and Tasmanian wine in particular.

Lovely old style building, quiet surroundings, close to park run, 30 min walk into town / nice restaurants. On a bus route into town. Nice facilities. Very clear. Good shower. Comfy bed and pillows.

The breakfast was great, would be nicer if they reduced the single use plastic / spread / jam pots given how sustainable Hobart is. Felt wasteful opening so many little packets. Our fire in room didn’t work.

Everything! Beautifully restored, luxurious, warm and invitingand with every detail meticulously thought out. I have no idea why this property isn’t more well known! It was Devine

The only thing that would have improved it would be more dining options and a bar area (which I believe they are in the process of getting a liquor license)
