The location is exceptional right next to the Botanic Gardens: we walked 1km to our concert (Sydney Myer Music Bowl). This hotel is conveniently right next to a tram stop, so travelling into the city is very easy. We had a lovely room and very comfortable beds; it was surprisingly quiet. Foyer had a luxurious feel. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed our cocktails in the stylish bar before going out to a concert. Recent refurbishments are elegant and swish, and still look like brand new.

We had the bad luck of visiting during a time when the electronics played up. Our automatic curtains opened and shut continuously in the morning, until the reception reset the system. Unfortunately as a result of the tech issues, our guest cards did not work in the elevators, and we needed assistance to activate the elevator buttons, every time we wanted to go up to the room. The staff were happy to do so, and apologized, but it did take away from the quality of the stay.

We had originally booked a King Room with a balcony , but on arrival for our 36th Wedding we had been up graded to a Superior Suite. The aesthetics and boutique ambience of this Hotel made our stay amazing. The staff were exceptional. The location was a short 5 min tram ride to the city, which made exploring the city really easy. The breakfast in the Terrace Restaurant is a must do...the food is sublime.

Our room for three people had the mezzanine floor. it was luxuriou. two bathrooms .. the softest beds etc. All of the fittings,, lamps, fireplaces, carpets. etc etc etc..throughout are of the highest quality and style... it is simply superb. The dining/ bar are situated in the old showrooms entrance area , it makes the most of sweeping curved staircase in this beautiful Art Deco building. The staff are exemplary!!

I could not get a smaller pillow for my bed!!!! ( 🙄). That was all.

Fabulous bar, lovely room, especially loved having a Dyson hairdryer in the bathroom. That was a real treat. The location is lovely, it’s a bit shiny for my tastes, highly polished walnut and Crome aren’t my favourite aesthetic but that’s just personal taste. it’s a fabulous Hótel otherwise. Will be better once the construction for the tram/train line is completed as the construction sight is quite noisy. Ask for a room on the side overlooking Melbourne Boys Grammar as it’s much more peaceful

Room decor, fittings and furnishings are top notch in style and comfort. Everything felt brand new and clean too. In-room dining was excellent. Front desk staff are professional and prompt to help.

Everything would be perfect except for housekeeping's remiss in replacing the empty facial tissue box two days in a row. It can be overlooked for one day but when it's two consecutive days it became an annoyance.

Very Comfortable and well appointed room, in an excellent location for the things we wanted to do ie visit National Gallery of Victoria and go to the footy at MCG. Dinner was lovely, although the food took a long time to arrive.

Very disappointed to get back after the footy on Friday evening to find the bar was closed and we really wanted to have a celebration drink, both for our team's win and my partner's birthday.

My jaw dropped when I walked into the lobby. The recently completed renovations have completely transformed what was already a beautiful hotel. I regret that we weren't able to spend more time enjoying the hotel due to other commitments. The restaurant and bar looked so luxurious and shiny. The rooms are well appointed. Very comfortable bed. Well lit bathroom and to my joy a Dyson hair-dryer! Valet Parking is now via StKilda Rd not the side street which is important to know. Breakfast was 10/10. I can't wait to come back.

Surprised it had been renovated since our last stay. New look very glitzy, I preferred, pre-renovation look, but clean, lively and welcoming.

No fault of The Royce, but proximity to Melbourne Metro building site

We loved absolutely everything about this luxurious property. It oozes the charm of a bygone era. Our room was absolutely impeccable with a lovely balcony which had a view of the city skyline. We had a most delicious dinner in the restaurant. The staff were super friendly and efficient. This is a gem that we shall certainly be revisiting.

We loved being close to Botanical Gardens and some nice cafes. Our valet parking was done by Nate. He was really nice and accommodating. He even organised for a bottle of champagne as it was our anniversary. We loved the bed too.

The only thing i can think of was that the shower was backwards. Cold for hot and hot for cold. Nothing major
