Beautiful place, comfy bed, very clean and had everything we needed for facilities. The decor was just to our liking; traditional yet stylish, but minimal, and accurate to the photos we saw before booking. Bath and shower were both good too, good water pressure and heat responsiveness. Welcoming, warm and helpful host. The location was great too, not far to walk to the centre (10min and very pleasant walk in!) , but far enough to be in a beautiful and quiet, quaint area. We would recommend and definitely stay again if visiting.

Maybe more shower gel and toilet roll in the room for guests who are staying longer, but overall it was all brilliant.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible B&B in the heart go Bruges, and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how welcoming and attentive the staff were. They went above and beyond to provide helpful information about the city, making our stay even more enjoyable. The room itself was spacious, beautiful decorated and offered a stunning view of the canal- the perfect setting for peaceful and relaxing stay. The breakfast area was equally charming, with tasteful decor that set the tone for delightful morning. The selection of food was delicious. What really stood out was the generous hospitality. They offered complimentary water, hot drinks and even alcohol. This hotel is truly a gem!!

We loved everything. Lieve is an excellent host who literally ‘opens her home’ to guests: the care and attention during check-in, the drinks available at any time, the generous breakfast, thoughtfully prepared with every detail to please everyone. Fresh juice, all kinds of coffee, various types of cheeses and cold cuts, plenty of jams, pastries… simply perfect! The facilities are beautiful, very well decorated and comfortable, with a wonderful garden! The room facing the canal was spectacular, quiet, with a gas fireplace, very comfortable, a huge bed, very clean and soft sheets, and an impeccable bathroom. A 11 out of 10! We loved it so much that we almost extended our stay for one more day! We will be back!

We were greeted by owner, Lieve with a warm welcome. Anna9 is owned by her and spouse, Jan. We were able to park in their private garage a couple blocks away--a good choice. Bruges parking is quite limited. Anna9 has been completely renovated prior to opening a few years ago and has a dignified, new ambiance. The facility is warm and inviting, small with 5-6 rooms which are well appointed-ours overlooked a charming garden which guests in warmer weather would enjoy. Being a B&B facilitates the opportunity to interact with other guests which we did-Australians and Netherlanders. All rooms are on the second floor-don't know if there is an elevator. The breakfast room is also charming and overlooks the garden to the back and reception(living room) to the front. The food offerings were plentiful and fresh. Lieve will make items for you, such as bacon and eggs. Location is about 6 blocks from the Burg-the old square and is on a canal (red building on the right in photo).You'll need to walk an easy 4-5 blocks to major sights and good, recommended restaurants. We'd definitely recommend a stay at Anna9. Peek in the church on your way to the car garage-beautiful.

Though we utilized their garage, and would do it again, but at 30 Euros/night, we thought it a bit high.

The location is excellent. A very short walk to all the attractions of Brugge but slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the busy centre. Our room was very quiet and the quality curtains blocked out light which was great for getting good quality sleep. The building is well fitted out, our bathroom was top quality and the quality of the toiletries was good. Friendly and welcoming host who made sure we were aware of all facilities available to us. A wonderful garden area at rear of property that would be very welcoming on warm days as it has large shady trees. The view from the room was a delight at night and day. A lovely canal with a flower covered bridge and delightful buildings with pretty window boxes and a variety of the local architecture. We stayed in the attic room. A huge room with ridiculous amount of space and great views. Huge bed with good quality mattress and linen. We checked in late at night and checked out early which was all very easy and hosts made sure we had access codes in time for our arrival. A wonderful stay - highly recommend.

Not a dislike - just to be aware the attic windows are very heavy to open. If you want to enjoy the view but not wanting to open heavy windows then best to select a different room.

Really characterful building in fabulous location - near enough to the Markt and Burg but far enough to be away from the crowds and to explore areas such as St Giles and St Anna’s. We had the canal suite with fantastic views out. The canal tourist boats pass in the day but we didn’t mind that and the soundproofing is really good with the windows closed. The canal is really tranquil early and late in the day - the swans return. One minor point - the toilet ‘room’ is separate from the rest of the bathroom area and so doesn’t have its own sink which could be an issue for some but you adapt. Lieve and Jan were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble - we could also leave our luggage after checkout as we had a later train. We would definitely stay again!

Just the lack of sink in the toilet room and a couple of hooks on the back of the door would help with wet coats.

Well deserving of a glowing review B&B Anna 9 is in my opinion better described as a small boutique hotel. We loved it. Within easy walking distance of the historical centre in a quiet location beside a canal and renovated during the pandemic to a high standard in sympathy with the period features of the house. Our room in the attic was vast spotlessly clean with a huge and very comfortable bed a big bathroom with contemporary fixtures and fittings. A lovely bright airy space to wake up to and spend time in. For a coffee addict the Nespresso pod machine in the bedroom and the commercial easy to operate one in the dining room which made delicious coffee was especially welcome. The garden is a little oasis beautifully designed and well maintained a quiet place to relax in after pounding the cobbled pavements of Bruges. So thank you Lieve and Jan you made us feel very welcome and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend your "boutique hotel"

The location was excellent for walking around Bruges and it's right on a canal. The host was very informative about sites to see in Bruges and good places to eat or shop for chocolates.

There was not a door between the bedroom and bathroom. A mirror in the bedroom reflected the bathroom so no privacy. The hot water heater was out in the evening and the next morning. The host called for repair but had no hot water during our stay.

A truly private, peaceful, comfortable & luxurious experience at Anna9. Stayed in the top floor King Deluxe room which was huge by hotel/B&B standards with excellent quality fittings & amenities. Located on a canal, an easy 10 min walk into the main areas of Brugges, yet away from the hustle & bustle. Plenty of information provided to explore the city & area. Just to note: - the accommodation doesn't have a shower, just a large bath - wifi is a little patchy on the top floor These were not a huge issue for us but just for information..... We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at this high quality property & would book it again should we return to Brugges.

We were attracted to Bruges after recently watching a replay of the 1959 film The Nun’s Story on YouTube. Set in Ghent, it was actually filmed in Bruges, and the opening scene features a canal-side house next to a bridge. So what was our delight, when checking into Lieve and Jan’s lovely B & B at Sint-Annarei 9, to discover that the building in question stands just a few yards up, at number 22. Audrey Hepburn is no longer there, of course. Instead, at number 9, there are the ever-smiling, ever-efficient and gracious Lieve, and her expert engineer husband Jan, who have restored the house to a very high standard. We had the Garden Attic, which is spacious and light, elegantly furnished, and so quiet it is hard to believe you are near the heart of an historic and lively city. The house is beautifully furnished throughout – antiques downstairs, modern fixtures and fittings in the bedrooms –and the breakfasts, which are optional, are generous and delicious. Sint-Annarei is the perfect location for exploring the town. Originally the Scottish quarter, it was subsequently a centre for small workshops, every one of which seems to have had an eye-catching and intricate brick façade. You can walk to central Bruges with its museums, galleries and restaurants in ten minutes; for lunch or dinner we especially recommend Brasserie Cambrinus at Philipstockstraat 19. More locally, do not neglect the Adornesdomein round the corner with its sixteenth century Jerusalem chapel, or the ethereal Church and convent of Our Lady of the Pottery with its attached museum, further up the canal. Altogether a delightful experience, especially for couples who appreciate kindness, interest, calm and charm.
