Lovely old hotel, 5 minute walk to the main sights in Bruges, river and main square. Comfortable beds, great shower, kettle in room. Had to ask for tea, coffee and milk at reception, which is fine however reception hours are limited. Great continental breakfast in with price of the room. Overall a great stay and would return. We stayed on first floor, so no stairs to climb, quiet and comfortable for a 3 night stay.
Did ask one receptionist twice for coat hangers but didn’t get them, it was as if I was being unreasonable, she did not have the best attitude for customer service (just saying) 5 coat hangers for 3 people?? And two of them were for children. No shelving or space to put personal belongings, toiletries and to hang coats. Hot in room with no air con and windows don’t open fully.

The location of the hotel was central to town and the Christmas markets (Under a 10 minute walk). It is beautifully decorated and the room was large and comfortable with an ensuite bathroom with plenty of hot water. WiFi worked well enough, but at times a little slow.
The only odd part to me is that the reception has somewhat short hours. Wasn’t a problem, but if you’re arriving at late hours it could be less than ideal. Similarly there was a fairly steep staircase with small steps and a low ceiling getting to our room. Not a problem, but good to be aware of for those with mobility challenges.

I would highly recommend the Black Swan. With the wonderful breakfast included in room price, this hotel would be my preference ANY TIME in Bruges. Eager to make another trip. Very quiet, close to town square and a treat being there for Wednesday market at the square. WIFI excellent, room temperature excellent. Booked late but staff arranged for 2 twin beds (were a bit of a squeeze in the room), but very comfortable and fluffy comforters. Clean linens, great shower. This room had everything for a pleasant sleep after a day of sightseeing. Took taxi from train station (12 Euros). Worth it for luggage that had to be pulled on cobblestones. Thank you Black Swan and Bookings for bringing up the hotel.

The Black Swan was absolutely fantastic! The parking was a dream come true being super secure and easy to find. The concierge upon arrival (a lovely young lady who is originally from Greece) was SO helpful! She suggested the best places to see and to eat and circled all locations on a complimentary map - a super-great way to start the visit. The rooms were excellently clean and had everything you require - towels, tissues, toiletries. You are requested to select a time to arrive for breakfast each morning (which is included in your stay) to avoid the buffet becoming too over-crowded. This meant that there was always an available table and it was easy to select the items you wanted to eat. The breakfast was always fully stocked and had ample choice. The location has to be the best aspect of this hotel. You can walk to anywhere you wish to visit so quickly and easily. We have already discussed returning as we loved the city and loved this hotel.
There was no mirror in the room which made doing hair/make-up challenging. The desk was made of solid mirror so I sat on the floor and gazed into the desk drawers to accomplish these tasks. The room would be absolutely perfect for us had there been a mirror in either the main bedroom itself, or in the little hallway that leads to the bedroom.

The Black Swan is a charming old hotel centrally located within walking distance of all the historical sights, good restaurants and beautiful canals. The members of staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were well appointed and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and offered lots of variety for our large family.
We booked three rooms for a night in early August. It was a very hot day. My husband and I were on the top floor and our room had a fan which made our sleep comfortable. One of our daughter's second floor room had a fan but our other daughter's room did not and when she asked for one at the front desk she was told that there weren't any extras. In order to get a bit of air flow, she had to keep her windows wide open which resulted in our daughter and one of our grandsons getting many mosquito bites and not having a very good sleep. If it had been a different time of year or the weather hadn't been so hot I'm sure it would have been a different story.

Loved the style of the property- it felt very unique. Tastefully decorated and good nod to the age of the hotel. It felt quirky and I liked that! Location was brilliant. Close enough to get to the centre with a 5 minute walk.
Parking was a problem due to us arriving in a van. There was no on-site parking for a van due to its height but also there was nowhere outside the hotel or anywhere near meaning we had to travel 25 minutes walk before finding anywhere suitable. We had some help from the hotel but it was limited. We had to throw our cases into the van when leaving or risk blocking the road as there was no where to stop and wait!

Location was great, room big, clean and had fans. Breakfast was good.
Climb the stairs to our room, a maze to get there. We wrote in advance to book a parking spot and we got a confirmation, upon arriving couldn’t find the garage (it doesn’t have any signs), we parked in another location (paid) and upon check in she showed us where the parking was and when we got there, our spot was taking…I call and they said first I didn’t have one, then said it was overbooking. Disappointing as driving in Brugge is complicated and parking is limited, specially on a weekend and during summer.

Superb location, just two minutes walk from the first of Bruges' central squares. Friendly bar round the corner (no bar in hotel), and shops to stock up on basics a few minutes away (recommend Comarkt rather than the one on the corner). They shut the (very big!) door at 8pm, but there's no trouble getting in.
Their parking spot is incredibly hard to find. When you turn into Predikherenrei from Langestraat go really slowly staring left, there is a shutter hidden behind/between the first two buildings only 15 metres along the road.

The location is amazing. Everything we needed is within walking distance, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. We pre-arranged parking with the hotel, and a spot was reserved for us. It was a few blocks away, but directions were easy, and the location was very secure. We left the car there for the days we were in Bruges and walked everywhere. The room was large enough for 3 of us and our bags. The staff was helpful in offering recommendations. Breakfast was a typical buffet with an assortment of bread, cheeses, meats, and juices. It was too cool to sit and enjoy the breakfast terrace.
Navigating to the room through the dining area, down some stairs, and back up with our bags took a bit of effort, but was manageable. There was a loud ruckus sometimes from above our room at random times, mostly in the morning.

The location of the Black Swan is perfect - close to the main market square but on a quaint street. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. We were able to store our luggage after we checked out. They called a taxi for us and printed our rail tickets. The room was very comfortable with a very modern "rain" shower. The beds were all comfortable. There was a very steep staircase to our room, but we kind of loved it!
The breakfast is very basic, but I don't believe we paid extra for it, so that was fine. I wanted to use the hot tub, but was unsure if it was available. All really was great though.
