The location was stunning as the cabins are situated under Castle Mountain itself. Every morning that we crossed the nearby river, we saw photographers and even, one day, a wedding party (in the snow) taking photos. Although there were other cabins nearby, we still had the sense of being out in the woods. The only downside for skiers is that it isn't on the shuttle service. Also, the daily delivery of wood for the fireplace made us comfortable having a fire every day. And we appreciated all the winter cheer the staff added. We stayed over Christmas and the tree was a wonderful touch to make us feel even more at home.
I thought the bed was perfect; my husband thought it was too soft, so who knows who is right. We also cooked every night and would have appreciated more than the basic set of plates. That said, we had everything we needed.

What a lovely stay! My fiancé an I were celebrating our engagement and they made sure to provide the perfect stay! We were surprised with gifts and a kind note, which made our days and nights here even more special! Special thanks to Nihar and Darrel for their kindness. The place was super clean and there was carefully chopped wood in the fire place ready for us. There is no restaurant on site, but the private kitchen is very well equipped, and their store will provide everything that you need. There is also a pump if you need gas…that was VEEERY handy! There is also a very cozy main lodge with games and a big fireplace.
Just consider that it’s a 20-minute drive from Banff townsite, but close to lake Louise and other beautiful attractions in the park. The busy railway is right beside the chalets. That didn’t bother is too much, and they do provide earplugs.

Excellent, central location and easy to reach with a small, on-site shop and petrol station. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our cabin was a good size and very comfy, set amongst pine trees and near the railway line. We did hear the trains but found these to be all part of the charm. The cabin was well kitted out with a super comfy bed and wonderful log burner with a ready supply of kindling and wood. Each day our room was serviced and the fire made up for us which we appreciated. Sachets of nice fresh coffee were also replenished which we appreciated. Overall, an excellent place to stay with good access to both Banff and Lake Louise.

As soon as we walked into the cabin we both agreed that it looked even better than what the photos showed! There is a beautiful little front porch with some chairs to sit and enjoy some wine, the kitchen is large and you are provided with all utensils needed (including a can opener and I believe there was a wine opener as well) the bathroom was spectacular and shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and lotion were provided, all from Rocky Mountain Soap Company. The fireplace was clean and made up already so you could start a fire right away if you wanted to, and there is exterior storage for mountain bikes and ski equipment. All amenities are a short walk away to the BBQ and fire pit, and the property is very well maintained. There are trains that roll through every couple of hours and blast their horn. I personally found it relaxing while sleeping, but earplugs are provided in case it's not your thing. This is definitely a romantic place to get away for a weekend and we will be coming back!
The pull out bed was very uncomfortable, but besides that everything was phenomenal

Castle Mountain Chalet is halfway Lake Louise and Banff, and Bow Valley Parkway is right around the corner. In other words, a perfect spot! Loved the kitchen and the jacuzzi tub!! After hiking all day it is nice to relax in that tub and then make lunch / dinner while winding down.
Also right outside the property are train tracks and those trains did run all night one night. So sleep was a little difficult to come by. The suite needs dusted as there are layers of it on the towel racks and picture frames. Clean the place!

Chalets are an ideal location between Banff and Icefields parkway. Very clean and spacious. Great to have a kitchen! Staff is helpful! The train is close by but it didn't affect us (long days of hiking make for good sleep!)
The photos of the store were a little deceiving. I suspect it is hard to keep it stocked during high season...not many sandwiches to go. It's mainly snack items and beverages.

Stunning location and beautiful cabins. Conveniently located between Banff and Lake Louise. Staff were nice and rooms were clean generally. The trains at night weren't too much of a nuisance and ear.plugs are provided if needed.
Considering the price, we expected a much higher standard. Furniture was old (one seat gave everyone in the family extremely itchy eyes when sitting on it) and everything else was very basic. Mosquito nets were covered in bird poo. No mosquito net in the master bedroom. We are aware that Banff National Park is expensive, but it would be great if at least some of the money was re-invested in the cabins to offer an experience that is more in accordance with the price.

The log cabins were just as they appeared in all the photos and our cabin was very cosy. Well located between Banff and Lake Louise. We had a car so it was easy to drive north or south. The view of Castle Mountain is magnificent but the chalets are close to the railway line. We were not the closest cabin but could still hear the trains at night. Would absolutely stay here again, ear plugs are left on the bedside table!
The train noise during the night is noticeable but put the ear plugs in!

Perfectly situated half way between Lake Louise and Banff. A 5 minute drive to Johnston Canyon. Use of rental bikes for the Bow Valley Parkway. Rustic log cabins. Close to train track which is cool - ear plugs were provided - didn’t hear a peep with them in (and I am a light sleeper).
Very dated. Furniture old and worn. Needs a refresh. Very dusty on top of lamp shades and high level surfaces. Porch was very dusty - had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Smell of drains whilst sitting on the porch.

Strongly recommend. The property is very spacious and comfortable and had sufficient cooking equipment so we could cook dinner. Firewood is provided daily. We will definitely go back next time we’re in the area.
It’s a bit of a drive from Banff which was ok for us as we were exploring the general area. A car is definitely required. There’s also a train line that goes quite close so we would sometimes hear that during the night. However, we got used to it pretty quickly and by the end we enjoyed hearing it. It was just part of the whole experience.
