September 2023

The reception staff who was there at night (3AM or such) was super nice, helpful and explained everything to me. I didn't really use the facilities besides shower, but from what I could see the place is well equipped and super clean. My room had 3 beds, and it was very quiet and comfy. The mirror doors between hall and common spaces are very cool and confusing. The decor in the common spaces is very boutique indeed. The room itself not so much, looks more like a dorm room, but i don't mind at all. The airport shuttle service is great.

The reception staff who was there in the morning may have been very tired, had some sleepless nights, or otherwise affected, because they seemed like they don't really want to be here and seemed almost annoyed to have to deal with my check-out and questions. Now i know very well what hospitality and 'service' industry is like, and i certainly don't want anyone to pretend or fake a smile if they don't feel well, that stuff is almost worse. But i really felt (especially in contrast with the night shift employee who was friendly) as if i'm bothering them.

The interior was super fun, the entrance and little tables outside in the shade were very nice, the rooms were very cool although it was about 30°C outside, everything was very clean and nice. We didn't try the free xbox or other game consoles, but the kitchens were well equipped and we really loved the people and the stay here! There was a single toilet, a shower and a combination of toilet and shower for every 3-4 rooms, so there was never very much waiting time and the location was amazing! Right in front of the nicest park in the city, close to the zoo and the spa, good connections by tram, bus and metro, shops were closeby and there was a really nice italian pizza place around the corner. After our stay they watched our bags for a few hours without asking for a fee. I loved our stay and had a really good time here.

Sadly we booked a room with a double bed and got a room with 3 single beds. We put 2 of them together, but as a couple, we would have prefereed a double bed.

Very laidback and open atmosphere, where it’s easy to meet other travelers. The place was surprisingly quiet at night, and we stayed there five nights in a family room. It’s a labyrinth of corridors (several hidden behind mirrors or even cabinet doors), which gives it a special atmosphere but also prevents noise transferring. All the staff was very friendly and helpful, with special thanks to the Argentinian night watch and the girls that prepared the breakfast. Location is excellent. The adjacent park has several excellent new musea, old palaces and the famous thermal baths on walking distance. Buses run every 5 minutes, and bring you to nearby metro lines.

When it gets really warm in the summer (30+ degrees) then a ventilator would be helpful to make the room cool for the night.

Me and my family loved this hostel! The location is perfect, there's bus stop and metro on a walking distance, as well as castle and a museum. There is a very cute bakery nearby. Our room was very nice, there was a heater for the cold weathers and the reception was always ready to help us. Also they give you towels for free so it was so nice, we took them to thermal baths (no one wants to pack bulky towels on a trip) overall 10/10 would stay there again

Accommodation in the hostel was great. The fact that we were there with 3 small children was perfect. Until now, we have always stayed in hotels :-). The children really liked running around the accommodation, enjoying every corner for rest and play. They were discovering other corridors after the accommodation through various Narnia doors or mirrors. Perfect location of the accommodation next to the great Liget park for children, where we spent a lot of time. The approach and advice of the long-haired gentleman at the reception with dreadlocks was perfect. So calm and kind sir, thank you. Simply the best hostel we've ever been to and we'll definitely be back. Well thank you.

The only drawback was that we had a glass door to the room and when guests came at night, they lit the living room and sat until 3-4 in the morning. The light shined directly into the children's bed and they woke up to it. But that doesn't change the fact that the place is just great.

Perfect location for gigs in Puskas Stadion. Heroes Square and Szecheni Baths are also within walking distance. Staff is super friendly. Location feels safe but couldn't find anyting open to get food after the gig. Had individual lockers in the main area where you could easily store your luggage and belongings. Would stay here again if I go to a gig in the area.

Rooms are in the basement and may have a bit of musty smell. The rooms facing the main road have traffic noise even late at night. Stair into the bathroom may get problematic for some people.

I have been to this place before so I knew it was going to be a nice stay. We got a funny little "upper floor" room but it was OK after all, especially for the low price. The hostel is spacious, it has enough bathrooms and there is a nice homely atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. The location is great - not far from the Széchenyi Thermal Bath and the Garay Center market. Several bus stops nearby.

The stuff was kind and warm. Also the roommates were friendly. The atmosphere was chill. The bed and pillows was comfy. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. The reception is open 24 hours, I arrived there at 06.00 and they took care of me. Before check-in they sad I can leave my backpack there until room is available. I also had bicycle in that trip and they have safe place to lock the bicycle. I definitely recommend this place 😊

This was an easy location, located next to Heroes Square, several museums, ice skating in the park, expensive and plain restaurants. There was even a fancy thermal bath nearby in comfortable walking distance. A small zoo was also just a couple blocks away. Everything I love. Not a great pile of shopping opportunities on this street, which is NOT why I travel. The Baroque Hostel has high ceilings, with indoor decor from cupids over the doors, a step-through closet (like Narnia) and a mirror door which led to more rooms. The front desk was always covered, with helpful people who were full of information as well as courtesy. The floors, furniture, bathrooms, and kitchen were kept clean, and the noise levels of the other guests was comfortable. Every direction I walked was worthwhile, as Budapest is beautiful and charming. This was an amazing place to stay and well worth the inexpensive cost.

I was disappointed by two days of rain, but still walked to the nearby museums to explore. Winter month, so there was public ice skating in the park across the street, but some of the restaurants were closed, and no bikes for rent nearby.

It was a really nice and sweet hostel. Common areas were tidy, clean and good designed. Rooms were also clean, tidy and big enough for everyone. Toilets and showers were also clean. The stuff was so kind and friendly. Location is great, close to markets, restaurants and a big park which you can sit, rest, walk and even ride bicycle. I definitely recommend this place ☺️.

I liked everything 😊.
