I demand 6 minimum features in a hotel. Clean spacious room, comfortable bed, functioning bathroom, good WiFi, good AC, friendly competent staff. You can pay $500 a night and get all this or, as in this case $40. The only difference is how fancy it all is. La Belle Etoile deserves 5 stars for what it provides for the money. It is 4km from town but a Grab costs less than $1 and takes 10 minutes.

Nothing. Why are "facilities" rated low? Because there are none. No pool, no gym, no spa, no resto although you do get a very nice basic breakfast. I don't need them; if you do go to one of the resort hotels and pay their prices.

The staff is absolutely amazing, simply wonderful. The hotel is located out of town which I preferred and it makes it very quiet at night which of course is great. Scooter rental is cheap so you can go anywhere anyway. Wifi is not my most important concern but in the room it wasn't too fast whereas in the breakfast area it was fantastic. I would book this place again. Breakfast by the way is also lovely, finished with a candle on the table. What else do you need ;).

This hotel has very lovely and friendly staff and is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Very comfortable bed, sitting area outside, great breakfast.

The location is a little out of town but still walkable. The location means it is quieter and more relaxing, and the staff make it easy to get into the centre of town There are resorts nearby with restaurants which have good and affordable meals. (Or use an app like Grab for food delivery!)

Amazing comfortable rooms - big bed, separate bathroom and toilet. Pristine clean. The best banana pancakes of our trip in the whole of Indonesia. The staff are so kind and gentle. If you need anything, they are there to help you out.

Maybe a socket next to the bed would be great or in the sitting area as we had to work a bit but that’s nothing big. Really nothing to mention here.

Very clean and nice room in a beautiful building. The owner André was very keen to help us for everything, even setting up a last minute private boat tour for 2 days 1 night. The position is a bit far from the harbour and the main street, where all restaurants and activities are, so you need a moped or a taxi to move every time. One can see great sunsets from the beach nearby.

The room was large and clean. Located out of town and surrounded by a beautiful garden, it was lovely to escape the busy town to relax in the quiet. Andre was very helpful. He arranged a scooter for me and booked my day trip to komodo.

My water wasn't hot, but I didn't mind.

The property is beautiful and clean. The bed is comfortable. Excellent air conditioning. Henri kindly drove me to and from the airport. Do yourself a favor and have the banana pancakes for breakfast. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and comfortable at all times.

I have no complaints.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I missed breakfast (try the banana pancakes!) because I went diving, but when I returned in the afternoon, one of the staff members brought me a delicious banana pancake.

For me no problem at all, but it would be nice to install a boiler big enough, so all guests can enjoy a warm shower.

I can 100% recommend this hotel. Everything perfectly clean, beautiful room, very lovely and super helpful staff, good scooter rental. Hotel staff put a lot of effort into organizing the transfer to next hotel for us and even drove us to the bus we missed.

Lovely hotel, very clean and staff wonderful. Unfortunately we were unable to try breakfast as we had to leave early both mornings for tour and to return to airport.

Shower pressure was ver poor. Also the bathroom had a funny smell after showering.
