Great hotel, friendly staff, very clean, very comfortable family rooms, cozy lobby, very close to the airport ( 10 mins with no traffic). Lidl is next door, which is very convenient.
Although it is very close to the airport, it is about 45-50 mins walk to the centre, which is doable but the areas you need to go through are not very nice. It spoilt our overall impression of Dublin.

A Memorable Stay at the Brilliant Hotel I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Dublin Skylon Hotel during my visit to [insert location]. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an exceptional experience. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the reception staff were not only welcoming but also accommodating. Despite arriving earlier than the usual check-in time, they graciously arranged for me to have access to my room, allowing me to settle in comfortably without any hassle. The attention to cleanliness throughout the hotel was remarkable. The housekeeping staff maintained impeccable standards, ensuring that every corner of my room was spotless. The spacious accommodations provided a welcoming retreat, complemented by a cozy ambiance that made me feel right at home. The highlight for me was the invigorating shower – a perfect way to rejuvenate after a day of exploring the city. Each morning, I eagerly looked forward to the breakfast spread, and I was not disappointed. The selection was diverse and delicious, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. What truly stood out, however, was the warmth and friendliness of the staff who went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcomed and cared for. The hotel's location couldn't have been more ideal. Situated just a 15-minute stroll from the city center and with a bus stop conveniently located opposite the hotel, getting around was effortless. Additionally, the availability of parking on-site provided added convenience for those traveling by car. In conclusion, my stay at the Brilliant Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the friendly reception staff to the immaculate accommodations and delectable breakfast offerings, every aspect exceeded my expectations. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable experience.

Well located and convenient for our very early morning flight the next day. Secure off street parking was great and we had a very enjoyable dinner in the on-site restaurant.
The bedroom was exceptionally hot and all the guests we spoke to said the same. Staff agreed with us but said there wasn’t anything they could do. The safety catches on the windows meant we couldn’t open them very wide to allow cool air into the room.

Room was spacious and very comfortable. Lovely to have tea and coffee and toiletries. The reception area was warm and welcoming. Good quality food and service in the restaurant. Very easy access to the city centre.
The receptionist was sometimes slightly unhelpful. For example, when we asked for recommendations for restaurants close to the hotel, we were told emphatically not to bother as everything would be booked up because the Irish team were playing a world cup rugby game that evening. We walked along the street outside and could have booked a table in any of the restaurants along the road opposite the hotel.

The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms were nice and big for a family room. The buffet breakfast was also a big hit. The fridge in the room was great for storing the baby food.
We were told before our stay we could park the car there while we went to croke park the next day for a match. This was not the case we had to leave the car park by 12. Trying to find parking with 3 children in the car added stress that we didn't want. Also the plug in front of the mirror didn't work and you had to hold the kettle button down for it to boil.

We had planned to stay for three nights, but due to an unfortunate strike, our arrival was delayed by a day. Despite this setback, the Skylon Hotel demonstrated exceptional customer service by managing to resell our rooms for one of the nights, resulting in a refund for that particular night. Although the hotel's location may initially appear distant, it is conveniently situated just a short five-minute taxi ride or a pleasant walk away.
The coffee served during breakfast was not to my liking. However, I must say that the espresso and cappuccino were quite delightful.

Loved the greeting, hospitality and ability to accommodate us a bit early as we were exceptionally tired. Room was spacious and comfortable. We were extremely happy with the desk fan as it was a bit warm, (no ac like we are used to) but we adjusted quickly. Water in room was an added touch, and love the ginger cookies 🙂. Right next door to a market, great food nearby, especially the Italian restaurant and Milo's for coffee and a cinnamon knot!
The breakfast was sparse, not replenished often. Large party came in and cleaned everything out and it was at least 20 minutes before anything was replaced. Server came after awhile to serve coffee and never returned to see if there were any other needs.

My best friend and myself stayed for 2 nights. We grew up next door to each other, and have been best friends since we were 3 yrs old. Her mother died recently. My mother has also passed. She came up from Cork, and the reason our stay was so special? Since we were young children, birthdays, christenings, meet ups, celebtations were always had at the Skylon. I'm 51 now. The refurbishment and staff and style were 2nd to none. And we raised many a toast to our mothers, their friendship and so many happy occasions. Would wholly recommend. And the food is incredible.. Also! The door man is such a lovely professional man. An absolute gent and institution in his own right. So thank you for the memories from the past, and hopefully many more to be made in the future.....sinead Buckley
