Very good value for money hotel. Comfortable bed and mattress. The room size was OK for my needs. Bathroom very big. The shower was nice with good pressure and hot enough, although see my comment below. Good location a short walk from Drumcondra bus and train stops for the airport coach and quite near to numerous bus stops for getting into the city. The hotel itself is in a lovely quiet residential suberb away from the busy city centre. Kettle in the room with tea and coffee making facilities.

The WiFi signal was bad at times - I would recommend installing a mesh system with a few more access points around the hotel. I would advise mopping the bedroom floor as well, as there was this strange black stuff dust on the floor that came up when my feet where wet from the shower. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom, so I just opened the window. The shower drain could do with some plunging to unblock it as it drained very slowly and nearly overflowed when the shower was on a higher flow setting (I had to run the water at lower pressure to prevent the shower filling up too fast). The lighting in the room could have been better - the spot light bulb above the desk was broken. There is a water pressure pump that goes on and off that one can hear, but I got used to it after a while.

The building was well kept and very clean in the communal areas. It was in a nice quiet area, only heard few cars coming by at night. A good location too with a short work to some restaurants and only a 30ish minute walk into the centre. The room was tidy and well kept and provided tea, coffee, milk, and an extra hairdryer. Extra bedding was also provided in the wardrobe. The staff at both check in and check out were lovely and informative too. Well worth the value and definitely recommend the stay!

The walls are quite thin so you can hear things quite loudly through them. However this was easily fixed with some headphones/earplugs!

Very friendly staff pleasant environs great dinning room nice bar clean tidy handy location will defiantly stay here again, informative reception staff well run and tidy guest house that has been in business a very long time and knows what a weary traveller needs fresh comfortable bed clean room something to eat and something to drink and a quiet nights sleep, the location is fairly central to the city centre with a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk, the building itself is a georgian house with large windows looking out to a well kept street with lovely welcome of a well laid out and kept landscaped garden to the front the ground floor is easly accesable however there is a split in the lever with the bar entrance being a couple of steps down

tv could have a few mainstream news channels

The friendliness of the staff, staff assistance, nice menu and a fairly firm mattress. A young lady in the bar/restaurant was simply marvelous, we were not well and had no appetites. It was arranged that we were served a half portion off the menu which was perfect.

We called this "the up the down staircase hotel." No lift and stairs that went up and up then down to get to the room. Hard on the legs and back for two old gals in their 70's, not to mention the staff having to clean and change the rooms on a daily basis. We were over the kitchen and there was no hot water in the bathroom until precisely 8 am after running it for more than a minute, have to think it was from the kitchen preparing breakfast and washing dishes. A little hard to get to from the buses and train station for older guests.

It was an amazing value in our favourite part of Dublin, the North Side! We loved the little restaurant and bar downstairs, and our room was snug but comfortable. It was an amazing value and the staff were very nice and helpful. I personally loved the funkiness of the place as well, and the crazy 70s lounge vibe going on in the bar on a Monday night was one of my highlights for the trip. Wow.

I mean, it was a pretty small room for a double and a single, but that was expected, so. I used to stay in hostels all the time, and this was so much better than that. We were thankful to be pointed to the free parking on the side street and maybe a little lucky to find a spot. For some reason, I thought there was dedicated parking for guests, based on the listing.

The reviews of this hotel on booking.com had made me feel dubious about our stay so on arrival, when everything was much better than other guests made them out to be, I was very pleased. I don’t know if other people are just incredibly picky or if I’m just easy to please but the hotel is great, would definitely recommend. Clean room with basic amenities, well stocked tea/coffee facilities in the room each day, warm shower and 30-40 minute walk to Dublin centre, at a reasonable price for Dublin as a whole. Lovely little bar in the hotel too.

The walls are very thin so you can hear other guests in their rooms, which I can imagine could be frustrating if you didn’t have conscientious neighbours, but we didn’t have an issue during our stay.

Nice and helpful staff, clean accommodation located in a quiet, homey neighborhood, convenient to both the center of Dublin and the airport, close to many services and The National Botanical Gardens and the historic Glassnevin Cemetery. The restaurant in the basement had excellent food and a friendly, neighborhood vibe. My room was very quiet, clean and private.

The property is just a little dated and could do with a little sprucing up, but for the money, I thought this place was an excellent value.

Every member of the hotel staff was very kind and considerate on any occasion we had questions. Also, since our flight arrived in the morning and check-in wasn't until the afternoon, they offered to hold our luggage. As it turned out, our room was available and we were able to check-in when we arrived. The neighborhood is very lovely and a short walk to both the bus stop bringing us to/from the airport and the one we used to access other areas of the city. When we needed a taxi, the gal at the desk called for one and it arrived within a few minutes. The hotel has it's own pub and restaurant (very nice!) but is also close to other restaurants. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay and I look forward to staying there again!

The stairs are a bit difficult to maneuver as the stairway is narrow, as well as the steps. But that is part of it's charm (if you don't have difficulty taking the stairs as there isn't an elevator).

For our short stay in Dublin, this hotel was absolutely perfect. The primary purpose of the trip was to see Coldplay in Croke Park, and this hotel is located within walking distance of the stadium. The hotel rooms are fine for what you use the room for. Sanjana, the wonderful receptionist, provided us with some top quality customer service and was so nice to deal with. Thanks to her, and the maples house for a brilliant stay.

Rooms could be modernised, but this is a menial criticism. The hotel is lovely.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They also have a really fun bar on the main level. It is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with well upkept homes. It is clearly a safe area of the city. Great for a solo traveler.

It's a typical European boutique hotel with small rooms, but very well cared for. My only "complaint" is because of my size. I'm 6'4" and the bed had a 6'0" mattress with walls at both ends, so I had to sleep with my legs drawn up! Otherwise, the room is great (but could use a carpet refresh).
