Nice hotel. A little dated. There appeared to be a newer section near the spa but we didn’t stay in that part of the hotel. Breakfast was very nice. Lots of choice. Very nice staff.

It was a little remote from the main thoroughfare. The on-site shuttle bus had a limited schedule so we did not use it.

The restaurant has a very relaxing ambience, there was a wide selection of foods. The staff were very pleasant and willing to help. Our room was quiet and equipped with everything we needed. The staff who cleaned & tidied the room daily did a very good job!

The only grumble we had was that we had a room at the back, with a view of a corrugated. metal roo!! We stayed here once before with a lovely room at the front with a view across St Helier, which was much better. But that's a small point really.

Most things, spa was lovely. Room was fine, we had a lovely view, but despite having a fan in the room, it was uncomfortably warm during the night.

We were not made aware that at breakfast, you could order items from the kitchen other than the ones on the buffet. On the first night we had to wait 40 mins for our evening meal to arrive. The reason they gave, was they had taken a large order and it was fulfilled before ours, but we weren't advised of this until we complained. That was bad enough, but the next day my order for poached eggs was 'lost' and I waited over 20 mins for them to arrive, meantime my husbands breakfast was finished!!! The food when it came was lovely, but we were not impressed by the service we received.

Hotel de France strikes a great balance between being a luxury hotel while still offering a relaxed holiday experience. The pool and spa facilities are great with the pool being just big enough to do a bit of proper swimming. Breakfast is buffet style with a good selection and staff always on hand during our stay to pick up the extras. There is plenty of parking if you have a car and it is a short fifteen minute stroll to St Helier centre. WiFi free and fast. We had an excellent stay (nine days) and felt thoroughly welcome.

Very little on downsides - anyone with limited mobility may find the steps from the road to the hotel entrance hard work. And the TV lacks a few modern features (HDMI cable worked but no smart TV options). Longer opening times on the gym would be nice.

It was a lovely hotel, but it could have been a bit cleaner. E.g. the room carpet was vacuumed every day, but there was a smell of dust in the air, which was probably an indication that the carpet was probably needing to be damp cleaned! Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay. The Ayush Spa hot stone massage was great. Both my daughter and I enjoyed our treatments there and the staff in the spa were lovely. On the Saturday evening when we arrived, we had dinner in the hotel dining room. I ordered the fish and chips. The chips were good and tasty, but, sadly the fish must have been left in the oven for too long as the batter on it was burnt. I had 2 pieces of fish and I ate one of those as I was rather hungry, but couldn't eat the second piece. And the fish inside the batter was dry, bland and tasteless, so for what it cost, I didn't think it was value for money. We enjoyed our holiday and the hotel was good, so we are giving it an 8 out of 10 score.

Nothing really, just the comments made above.

Our flight got to jersey early. So we headed to the hotel and was able to use to leisure facilities to pass the time before our room was ready. Pool, massage jets, steam, sauna. Amazing... perfect for relaxing. Also has lunch on the terrace restaurant. Reception desk exceptionally helpful Breakfast was self service and very enjoyable. Plenty of choice. Nice coffee and cooked breakfast. Hit the gym on the second day. Which has everything needed for a decent workout. Room was lovely. Spacious, bright, very very comfortable large bed. Lovely outdoor lounge area. Had a wine in the sunshine and took our lunch outside...

Couldn't fault it

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. Also, I enjoyed the spa very much. Please note that the hotel is located on a hill about 1 km away from the busy city center. And even though St. Saviour´s Rd. is very busy too, the hotel rooms are absolutely quiet, so don´t worry about traffic noise at all. If you are German like me don´t forget to bring an adapter for you phone or laptop (otherwise, the staff will help you out).

It´s hard to say anything negative about the hotel. One could argue if a second coffee machine at the breakfast room would be helpful. Furthermore, the bar does not exactly have the atmosphere of a true bar, as it is a combination of a (very good!) restaurant and a place where you can have a drink in the late evening. As I had dinner at the restaurant several times and being on my own, I wasn´t seeking a cosy bar anyway.

Staff were all lovely, extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel facilities including spa area beautifully kept. Great breakfasts. Complementary mini bus to town a couple of times a day useful. Thanks for a lovely stay, couldnt fault the customer service 10/10

Such a shame that they sold off the front lawns since previous visit, makes seeing the facade of a beautiful building difficult! A little out of town but for obvious reasons, about 15 min walk down to harbour, easy enough but just to be aware.
