We had a wonderful stay, starting with the delicious welcome cookies. The room was spacious, and the location was perfect, within walking distance of the historic center and close to York Minster Cathedral, surrounded by charming bookshops and cafes. We were delighted to have received a free upgrade to a deluxe double room. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable with fluffy bedding. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

While our stay at the hotel was generally pleasant, I did have an issue with the air conditioning unit. It seemed to be covered in dust, and the discarded flag was a bit concerning. Unfortunately, this caused my allergies to flare up, which made it difficult for me to fully enjoy my stay. For anyone with asthma or severe allergies, I would recommend checking the cleanliness of the air unit before using it. Regular cleaning would certainly improve the overall experience.

Staff super friendly and more than happy to help you check in and will take any luggage you want to leave while you explore. Room was nicely sized with a big comfy bed and bathroom was decent with a bath, lovely hot water for a shower in the mornings. Corridors and room had a nice fresh smell.

The traffic outside was so noisy, I know due to location it can't be helped but I feel more soundproofing is needed. Also floorboards in our room and others on the same floor were really creaky. Once we'd gone to bed if it wasn't the cars outside it was someone walking across a creaky floorboard. The lifts are pretty small but if its just two people its okay. We've stayed here 3 times now and unfortunately this occasion was the worst experience of all 3. Our bathroom was good but a little cramped and not enough space to put washbags etc.

The hotel was great , convenient to the centre. Staff Amazing,my 2 dogs were well catered for . The ladies at breakfast were lovely, breakfast was good every thing you could want . Our dog friendly room Amazing, normally dog friendly rooms are basic and not nice ours was clean bright comfortable roomy ,it didn't seem like a dog friendly room it's what I would expect to have without the dogs . Two clean dog beds and 3 bowls in the room for them .bathroom was good very clean . I was a bit worried because of all the bad reviews. Our stay was 10/10 Thank you to all staff . definitely will return.

Everything was great

Arrived early, expecting to just drop our cases, we were pleasantly surprised when our room was ready for us on arrival. Obviously this can't always be guaranteed, but it was great for us, perfect start to our stay. The hotel was ideally located to the centre for us, which was our priority. It took us about 10-15 minutes to walk from the train station and just minutes to local attractions, shops, bars and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable, nothing to fault in to room at all, except a minor thing of there being no shower gel in the bathroom, the bottle had been left empty, not a massive deal thankfully we had our own. The breakfast was good. There was a nice variety of cereals, pastries, and hot breakfast. Staff constantly checking and topping up items. Overall, it was a great stay, we would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in York.

The location is excellent, easy walk to the centre. We were able to leave car in carpark before check in which was a bonus as we arrived early to have a look around York. Room and hotel were clean and had the usually kettle area. We ran out of coffee in our room and reception was very helpful and gave us more. I can't comment on the bar or breakfast area as I did not use it. This is our 2nd time here and we would come back a 3rd.

2 issues with room one was the lighting. It was very dark when getting ready no good lighting in front of the mirror. Also there was no dressing table in front of a mirror.

Good location in walking distance of City Centre. We were lucky and managed to secure a car parking space. Pleased it was a dog friendly hotel. Gluten free and soya milk options were available.

There was a party planned in the function room. The music was very loud in our room and went on until midnight. I understand that can happen when a hotel has a function room, but guests should be informed of that on arrival, especially because if the loud volume, you cannot go to sleep until the music has finished. This was a challenge when travelling with children. I think the hotel should definitely inform guests on arrival.

The hotel overlooks the city walls in the north of the city, only an 8 min walk from the famous Shambles. Loads of restaurants around. We loved the breakfast, it really set us up for the day. I'd suggest getting the waffle making machine you have at another Hilton I stayed in at Stansted, as we were secretly hoping you had one!

The room was set aside of the main hotel, on top of what must have been stables or carriage houses. Unfortunately, a car had parked right outside the door/entrance which meant we pretty much had to climb over the car to get in and out. The room was big and perfect for the four of us, but using the bathroom was awkward because the door lock didn't actually work, you could tell that it was misaligned so it didn't catch. Also, behind the toilet was a gaping hole through which anything could crawl in if it wanted. The sink was quite small with a glass shelf so low that you couldn't really lower your face to wash properly. The taps also opened the wrong way and I got wet when I first used it so a warning might be advisable.

We loved the breakfast buffet, it was excellent and a lot of choices available. We loved the evening meals a lot! We got upgraded to a deluxe king size bedroom, this was very comfortable and spacious, it exceeded our expectations! Bedroom got cleaned every day, great to come back to a nice fresh duvet after a long day out! A great location with everything in the city centre being a couple minutes away so found it easy to navigate to places we wanted to go to. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay!

The large lamp in the bedroom was quite dirty with stains all under the lampshade which was unfortunate to see. The windows were very old looking and could have done with a refresh.

The staff was very helpful and attentive, the breakfast was good. Room was nice and gave a comfortable stay and the location was very convenient. And again the staff all seemed very happy in their work and always seemed happy to talk

If I had too find one fault, would be a planter next to the door (main entrance) making the path narrow for a wheelchair to pass with out the right wheel slipping off the pavement. But very much a none issue and the staff seemed fine with me pushing the planter back a few inches.

Lovely sized room, great bed, shower, toiletries. Fabulous location.

Air con was good but situated away from the main area, room 210. Perhaps might be better if it could swap places with the desk, would feel it more. A little fridge would be useful to keep drinks cool in this warm weather. I rang down to reception for the loan of a brolly as we had unexpected heavy showers and no jacket and we're in our way to the uni for a graduation. We were advised you don't provide this service. I have been to many hotels that do, so I was surprised, it would be a nice little extra to have if needed and guests likely to be appreciative 👍
