It was like stepping back in time the simplicity of it was top notch The attention to detail in the food was beyond my expectations. All staff went above and beyond to be friendly and it was amazing they would remember your room number. It’s a small resort and it was everything my husband and I were looking for. It’s not a big party place it’s relaxing and friendly.we celebrated our 30 year anniversary here and we will become a regular visitor. If your looking for relaxation great food great drinks not having to make reservations to eat or have a dress code THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE.

For us there wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

This is the nicest place you can find around Playa del Carmen that is beachfront for sure. It has lots of character, it’s very nice and clean, the staff is great -very friendly, food is good (they easily accommodated one of us being vegetarian). The live entertainment was very nice, and one evening they even served dinner on the beach terrace with a bbq and bonfire. plenty of beach chairs and early coffee is provided if you wanna see the sunrise. You can’t indeed swim in the see right in front-you can dip your toes in to cool down though, but the piece where you can swim is really not far, only a few meters away.

The rooms aren’t the quietest, the fridge is rather noisy and in our room (on the top floor) you could hear the rain and wind quite strongly, but nothing earplugs can’t fix.

The bungalows with the nice sitting platform on it is wonderful. Very close to the beach. There are 3 types of bungalows; ocean front, ocean view and garden view, Ocean view might see the ocean from a little back, but still beautiful. Inside is quite comfortable, beside a big double bed, there is also one bunk-bed on the bathroom. Breakfast and dinner were also very good; besides open buffet, you choose from the menu for the breakfast and they give at least 2-options for the dinner. There was different music for all of the 5-nights. Bar in front of the ocean is great as well. They garden is beautiful, full of birds and nice plants. Monkeys were around, it was great to see them; only for 1-day. The other days our daughter waited for them, but they do not show up. I made yoga for 2 mornings, and it was also so good. Free sunbeds were available to enjoy the ocean under the coconut trees. They provided us the breakfast boxes for the days that we took the tour.

The lobby is definitely not good looking. Neither the neighbor buildings. Hotel is quite far away from the center of Playa del Carmen, not possible to walk (we tried), only option is taking the taxi which is quite expensive. It is worth to mention that all region, and the hotel, is mainly full of Americans. So this situation might be too noisy for others. During the dinners and also for nights, we really suffered. I woke up each time even though I had earplugs due to their noise. During the dinner as well, surrounded by extreme noise...But this is of course not the fault of hotel. Overall, the proximity of the beach and bungalows are just wonderful.

The Staff is excellent taking care of your needs really quick. It feels you are part of the natural environment with the palm trees hammocks, the sand surrounding the bungalows. The swimming pool is always clean and the right size. The drinks are amazing, food is good and with great choices. The beaches surrounding the hotel are not crowded but be careful with the rocks.

The beds could be bigger for two. You need a car 100% to move from the hotel. Yo can not walk to the main road.

This is a location you should choose if you want a total beautiful and relaxing vacation. No tv, seclusion, very few guests, lots of shaded beach areas, and nothing to do but relax. Perfect for a couples retreat with or without small kids but older kids might be bored. Uber delivers here from a few restaurants, ice cream and coffee shops nearby. You can call Coco Cabanas nearby and they will deliver to hotel beach side and has really good margherita pizza, fish and chips and the best grilled octopus and accepts usd with no delivery fees. Drinks were weak but the best ones were the Pina colada, nice carajillo and strawberry daiquiri.

The food was not always always the best every night. I'd love to see some more variety or a small dinner menu, like breakfast, to order from. Breakfast was great. Would also like to be able to order a proper iced latte, I never did receive one that tasted right.

Little cute hotel, with pool and beach. The service was excellent, special thanks to Manuel (Cuatrocientos uno ;-)) food was very delicious. We had in total a really nice time over there and we would have loved to stay longer

We loved everything about this hotel, the food was really good from the breakfast to the amazing and every day different dinner selection! The hotel is nice , like a retreat, yoga class in the morning, hamac front of your room , sand from your bungalow to the beach, it's feels like Thailand. It's a great hotel if you don't like big resort . Pool is perfect size not too big, great for family. The bar is on the beach and by the pool make it perfect to enjoy every area , great cocktails. Staff are super friendly, love the yoga teacher, she makes me want to register to yoga back home ;).

We got an upgrade to a bungalow overlooking the sea which was just beautiful, natural wood and cream features with a roofed porch so we could watch the sea even whilst it was raining. lovely and romantic. staff were friendly, morning yoga sessions were accessible and nurturing, really enjoyed getting up each morning for that, and I’d highly recommend the sound healing offering . Half board was great and we loved the cook to order meal options.

A bit far out of town and cabs are pricey, this wasn’t a huge issue for us as we were only here for four nights and happy to stay on site for our meals and entertainment. If you get itchy feet I’d say hiring a car would be good.

Charming old school beach hotel with friendly staff ; the morning yoga classes were a nice surprise

The beach is a little bit rocky (even in the swimming area a little further to the left) and the dining / entertainment options are limited both within and outside the property (given the location further away from the center)

The location was great for quick beach access and lodging in the sun daily. Love that they use some produce from their own garden. The food was always fresh. The fried fish and fries was amazing. The non-alcoholic drink version of the mai-tai and pina colada(pinada) were delicious. Facility was clean with great size rooms. Staff was friendly although most spoke little English they were patient with me. Desserts were great too. They had daily yoga and masseuse available. The yoga instructor and masseuse was accommodating to me since I'm pregnant.

I would offer more options for dinner especially for the vegetarian people.
