Breakfast was great, I'd definitely recommend adding it onto your reservation when you book as it's a cost effective way to start your day & breakfast is a great time to meet fellow travellers. Location was a bit out of town but still walkable. Love the pool area & the DJ's etc & I was in a room far away from this space so I didn't hear it. Beds were best beds I've ever had at a hostel & slept like a rock!

The only thing is one of the receptionists always acted like you were taking up so much of her time by even asking her a question about anything, one of the least friendly hostel staff I've encountered in the world of hostels!

Pedro from the reception was really helpful and nice person. He made us feel really comfortable asking anything. The rest of the staff was nice as well. The hostel is nice, a lot of activities at night and nice yard. The private rooms are generally good. Breakfast has a lot of options.

The noise from the night activities was really loud. We asked for a quiet room but since the private rooms are faced to the yard, you can hear anything and it seems the hostel doesn’t really care for people to go to sleep, for example in the yard you can’t speak without shouting. If you have outdoor plans during day that starts early - I wouldn’t recommend sleeping there. The rooms are generally nice, but our AC has leaked on the shelf, and the shower sprayed all around the bathroom. The breakfast has many options but a lot of things were missing - and you had to pay extra full price for a cappuccino - which was odd considered that you pay a lot for the breakfast.

The structure is amazing! It doesn’t even look like a hostel. From the common areas to the bedrooms, it’s very impressive. They have activities during the whole day, which helps to connect. I also love the fact that they have a bar, a pool, a space for resting and a coworking area. The place is very spacious. The staff was really nice and there are places to eat nearby. Also, the included breakfast is great, with a lot of options.

The water from the showers is a bit salty, so I suppose it comes from the beach. Although the hostel is located in a nice place, it’s neither close to downtown nor the hotel zone. So in order to get to other places, you need to either rent a bike/motorcycle or get a taxi, which is kinda expensive

Everything looks soo good and aesthetic. The rooms are nice and clean with private bathroom just for the people you share the rooms with. Even though you share a room you have your own little closable cabin kinda so it's still as if I had my own place almost. The communal areas were also stunning. There is a very calm and peaceful vibe inside the hostel and a more party/connecting vibe in the public area where you find a nice pool and bar. The staff was very friendly and even remembered my name and helped me wherever they could. Spoke proper english as well!

So happy to stay here. I’ve been overnighting along other Mayan Monkey hostels and till now this is my favorite. First, it was my mistake and I booked in wrong dates so I contacted the hostel staff and they solved that, also, they respected the price besides my booking was on weekend. The place is cool, bedroom, architecture, furnitures, the walls, the location, facilities, excellent, and the best the breakfast. I’ve been in several hostels around the world and by now Mayan Monkey breakfast is the best, including the options, taste and price. I wanna return to this place.

The dorms had strong air conditioning and felt spacious. The activites like sound healing and guacamole cooking classes for free were also amazing! Breakfast was also good.

The music at night is super loud when you try to sleep unfortunately. Also, when they have their weekly activites that involve free drinks, it’s not actually free you have to buy a drink or two before hand. The bedsheet felt as thin as a tissue.

The hotel is very well decorated, cool with nice amenities and activities always happening and a very nice vibe. The staff is the star of this hostel. We were very well received and the staff was always very helpful and made us always feel at home. I would like to specially thank Elena, Begoña, Diego, Eduardo and Vanessa at the bar for making our experience in Tulum a very special one.

The location, there are nice restaurants around the hotel, and it’s 15/20 min walking to the center, however it seems a bit far (40min walking) from the beach area, which demand the use of taxis to move around. There is a colectivo (public vans) but it only stops 10 to 15 min walking from the hostel.

Went there for a night and extended it for 4 nights. Met the loveliest people. Elena at the reception was great, always answering all my questions and I asked a lot! Special note for Mercedes for the lovely yoga teacher, when you travel it's hard to keep your exercise routine going but I was there every morning and she was just great, made sure we started our day the right way! But the best was the rooms! You get the full privacy, bunk beds are not connected so you don't feel when someone moves which is amazing, it was like having a private room. It's about 20 min walk to the town but to go to the beach you need a bike, bicyle or a collectivo. I would definitely stay here again!

Music was a bit loud for my opinion but you can spend your time in the common area downstairs. Kitchen can be bigger as it gets crammed very quickly during meal times.

The hostel is beautiful and looks more like a boutique hotel, the beds are very comfortable and everyone has their own space thanks to curtains and shelves inside the bed. They offer activities, like Yoga classes which are nice. They offer breakfast for 100 MXN which includes a buffet as well as a chosen dish like Chilaquiles, Pancakes or Quesadillas. So I think it's a really good deal.

They play very loud music every afternoon and evening in the bar/ pool area, so it's impossible to have a conversation there. The kitchen doesn't have enough cooking utensils for the amount of people that stay in the hostel. I stayed in their location in Cabo and I loved everything, but this hostel is just too big and the activities they offer don't always take place. The location is a bit far from the centre as well as from the beach.

The best way a hostel should represent themselves, amazing staff (except one), spacious rooms & separate showers..big pool & great hostel activities 🔝 The reception staff & the Argentinian girls who prepared the breakfast were amazing. Thank you

I didn't like the attitude of one particular bar man (he is mexican but looks like Filipino). He doesn't speak English but his body language possesses a very negative & aggressive display. 70% of communication is body language. I personally do not binge drink..I ordered two pints of beers. One was full whilst the other was 3/4 to full. I told him to top the 3/4 up however with an aggressive approach he refused to do so. Later another friend had a misunderstanding because of the happy hour. Again we didn't like his approach. He is there to serve the customers & not have this negative approach because it damages the whole positive aspect of the hostel to make the guests have a pleasant stay.
