We just stayed in Tulum for two nights. Hotel design was lovely & rooms contemporary & clean. The rooms are small without opening windows which we did know about already. The best part of the hotel is the fantastic rooftop pool & bar/restaurant which was a lot bigger than I expected & lots of beds & space. We had never been to Tulum so wasn’t sure where to stay, in the town or by the beach. The beach area definitely has a lot more going on & is expensive to get to by taxi ($40 avg) but what we saved on staying at Motto we spent on going to a beach club/taxis/restaurants etc. The area is growing fast & the hotel is in a newly built bit with shops & cafes. The cafe next door is fantastic for breakfast. They also offered free bike hire for 24hrs, just 1 per room. Easy to cycle to the main public beach & the ruins. The hotel zone with all the restaurants is a bit further.

The rooms are very small for 2 people & the bathrooms open to the rooms. The shower leaked into the toilet next door.

Very modern clean hotel, access to a great gym and rooftop pool. Overall loved the aesthetic! Walking distance from Tulum Centre which is great but need to get a taxi to the beachfront which was around $30-40 one way!

Super small rooms for 3 people with no proper doors on the shower or toilet - you can hear/see everything! Also no mirror in the rooms. The staff were quite rude at times, demanding tips when we ordered drinks etc - felt quite uncomfortable

We had our honeymoon with my husband at Motto. We really liked the design of this place as well as its location! There’s quite a nice bar & restaurant in the hotel too + a bunch of amazing shops around the hotel (but still on the territory of the hotel)

The room which we were staying in had a door which led to another room 😨 and we could hear every single sound from that other room! We have talked to the management and explained that we were expecting more private and didn’t expect to see a door leading to another room, however the management said they didn’t have any other rooms available :( not exactly how you want your honeymoon to go

Very conveniently located, 10 min biking to the town centre, 5 min to the large supermarket and 10-15 min to north beach. Location will only improve as there is still a lot of spatial planning and construction going on, once it done I am certain there will be even more restaurants and amenities in the area. Motto has the best hotel gym we have ever used with more than enough equipment, machines and weights. The rooftop swimming pools are nice, though the view is limited because of constructions on side. Staff is friendly and always available for questions.

Room size is a little small but we knew this when we booked.

The hotel athmosphere is amazing, room was beautiful and there’s also great pool at the rooftop and a gym with lot of options for workout. Very friendly and helpful staff! We had an incident happening unfortunately, the room right next to us was playing extremely loud music at 2:30 AM, but the staff solved this very quickly after we called to the reception, so we were very thankful for their help. The location is also great, as it’s not far from the Tulum downtown and also not too far from seaside.

The only negative thing was the towels. Usually, hotel room service changes towels frequently for the guests, but we had to ask for new towels and only received them after 2nd request (we stayed one week in this hotel). Would appreciate if the towels were changed automatically by the housekeeping.

The property was nice. My room was very comfortable. Next time I probably won’t reserve a room on the rooftop level because I could hear people passing my room early in the morning and late at night.

The night staff at the rooftop bar. I didn’t realize the closing time for the rooftop bar was incorrect on the hotel website. I attempted to order at the bar and the staff were kind of rude. I understand employees want to go home at closing time but you can kindly tell a person the bar is closed. It’s not necessary to ignore a customer then rudely snap at them when they ask to be seated. There were several people eating and drinking at the time, so it is not like I wandered into an obviously closed bar.

Easy checkin and the room was ready early which was brilliant. The vouchers for local businesses was a nice touch (e.g. a free bike rental with the room). The upstairs bar and swimming pool area was a nice place to chill out, well maintained, clean and the staff were on point. The location between town and the beach was great for us.

The slightly see-through toilet door might be uncomfortable for some. The location was great for us but note that it’s a 30 min walk to the bus station and a 15 min bike ride to the beach.

José, Morena and Sofi at the reception were super helpful and friendly. made us always feel comfortable and helped with reservations. the rooftop is super cool. security guards also so helpful with making sure we could safely lock up our bikes. Bathroom towels were great and the beds super comfy despite being a loft bed.

Heritage pork Tacos at the rooftop bar were not so delicious. but the rooftop made all of it worth it. also it wasn‘t too expensive :)

The pool area, reception and the closest restaurants are absolutely amazing. The fitness centre is also one of the best I have encountered at a hotel. I loved the hotel so much I will probably be back another time. The rooftop bar and the staff there was absolutely great as well. We loved our most frequent server Deby, and hope we’ll be able to see her again some day if we’re ever returning to México!

The only draw-back is that the rooms don’t have actual bathrooms, but a sink by the entrance, and toilet and showers just covered by slightly see through glass. It felt a bit too intimate for my taste. I do apprechiate some privacy in the bathroom, and I would also like to be able to change and put on lotion etc. without it being in the bedroom. Other than that, the rooms were pretty and neat. Would love some wardrobe space, or at least a few more hooks to hang clothes and towels on. I do, however, believe, that these type of amneties (as well as proper bathrooms) would highten the price of the rooms significantly, as the hotel otherwise is exceptional. So if that’s what you get for an affortable price, I’d still say it’s well worth it!

It was beautiful. The staff were incredible and so accommodating. It's a bit of a challenge when one does not speak Spanish and there were some communication setbacks. However, the staff always found a way to help with a bit of sign language. I would DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again . Very easy to navigate around and extremely CLEAN !

Kitchen service is done at 10:00 pm and not many places close by to get food . Although the rooms are very clean, they are very small . Beds are way too short and EXTREMELY hard and uncomfortable. Minimal space to hang clothes and I lived out of my suitcase which was on the floor as not even a small bench to put it on . Small things to complain about because overall it was a great hotel . Good value !
