Freshly renewed! Before the location and good beds where already incredible. But now the air conditioning works better and smells completely, even a giant hint of freshly installed smell. New carpets and floors. Lift security installations. The staff was incredible. Incredible housekeeping. Everything interesting is about a kilometer away, in front of the public transport stop, and nearby several others. The area is served with many kinds of restaurants, clubs, karaoke, coffeshops, the Flower Market just around the corner. The option with the balcony is incredible, you get a perspective of Amsterdam that is a bit less common. I had an accident a bit after I planned my travel, and I traveled on a wheelchair, by myself and I had all the amenities to make me feel welcome, safe and comfortable.

Maybe wheelchair users could have a more autonomous entry without needing the staff to open the door. What actually also works fast and well.

It's perfect location. Equidistant between the Museums & the Centraal Station, close to the Metro & major tram lines, the Rembrandt Square hub of night spots & eateries. It's amenities within the hotel, the comfy, well-appointed room with an amazing mini bar stocked fridge & coffee & tea-brewing station, the safe elevator key access, the amazing breakfast set-up with a bountiful buffet of hot and cold choices, fruit & fresh baked goods. The excellent service, prompt & efficient and the electric switch on do not disturb light outside the room door eliminates the nuisance hanging door-knob card. LGBT friendly & near that community.

Cannot think of anything not to like. Worth every reasonable penny.

The location was good - right near the flower market. The breakfast was very nice although it was precisely the same dishes for all 6 days (no changes at all).

The room service was not responsive enough, we needed to call and ask for everything two or three times. The first-floor rooms had a very high ceiling and it wasn't nice + the view from those rooms was to the main street (mainly Macdonald's branch and some tourist souvenir stores). The breakfast was not varied - for 6 days exactly the same food was served every day. The air conditioning in the room works strangely - it shows the room temperature and you can only turn it on and switch between -3 degrees and +3 degrees from the room temperature. For example, if the temperature is +27c you can cool it only between 0 and -3 degrees less (24c is the lowest). The water drain in the bath did not work well - there was always standing water during a shower.

The hotel was beautiful and so clean. The beds were huge and so comfy, we both slept so well. The rooms were spotless and had everything you needed, they also kept the noise out really well. The location was fantastic, we bought team tickets but found we walked everywhere and very easily. I don’t tend to write reviews but couldn’t not after this stay. Thank you to the staff who also arranged flowers and beers in the room for our arrival as we were celebrating a birthday.

It would have been nice to have a list of charges for the mini bar / food items in the room. We left them as we didn’t know if they cost extra or how much it would cost

I liked everything about the hotel and location. Room was fine, beds comfortable and room was clean. Staff at the front desk was very helpful. Breakfast was great. If you want a special kind of egg(they put out scrambled), just ask one of the waiters. Tram 24 stopped right at the front door of the hotel. You could pick it heading to Centrale Station right across the street. Tram 24 was the one i used all the time. The walk to Dam square was 10 minutes. The street right across the street from the hotel had many resraurants you could choose from. Albert cuypt market on tram 24 was about 10 min. away from the hotel. And, of course, the infamous flower market was right out the front door. FYI: AMS. no longer has street ATMs. A company has taken them over and put the atm's in a store front room with security cameras. At The Kuekenhof tulip festival everything was CC only except for the very small individual food vendors. Maybe AMS is trying to go cashless. So I have been told by some but dont take as the gods honest truth. It was a great stay at this hotel. Would stay there again. I would have posted pix but it wouldnt go far enough into my gallery to load the pix.

Very clean room and comfortable - all amenities great - breakfast was wonderful. Staff were very accommodating and dealt with our problem re the loss of our credit card with the best possible outcome. Management even had champagne delivered to our room to help calm our shattered nerves. Our room had also been upgraded to one with a balcony which was great. The location was perfect - within walking distance of Damme Square and the Rijksmuseum and the Flower Market adjacent to the hotel was beautiful.

Room was relatively small but that would be expected in a location in the centre of the city.

location is one of the best part of the city. perfect to explore on foot and tram. near to lots of good restaurants. check in and out was easy. the room was comfortable and housekeeping is reliable. the candies in the lobby was a nice touch.

they should fix the broken glass of the rotating door quickly. it can be a safety hazard. there’s also a lot of noise in the middle of the night due to the parties near the bars directly across the hotel and we can hear it as we stay on the low floor. the corridors are very dark and dim but we understand it’s the chose aesthetic.

The junior suite was perfect! The location is perfect!

We initially got a room which is right next to the hotel breakfast area, and it was very loud and didnt seem appropriate to sell this room😢. We requested to be moved to a different room and the front desk manager promised to move us and we should return in 3 hours to get the new room. When we came back she was no longer at the reception and she didnt do anything as promised to us and we were told that there are no room available…after speaking to the manager they found a new room for us which was perfect.

Great location, ideal for exploring by foot or tram. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and the staff made us feel special singing “happy birthday “ at our room when delivering balloons and a gift. Lovely unexpected touch.

Disappointed that there wasn’t a hotel bar to relax and enjoy a drink. The bar/restaurant on the ground floor only allows customers to sit at tables inside if eating; it was too cool to sit outside. We were offered stools at the bar, but not ideal as we are older guests and found this uncomfortable.

My husband and I have stayed several times at NH carlton hotels and stayed at this one a couple of times. It had been a few years since we last stayed. On my return the hotel had had a make over and I have to say it's absolutely stunning. The staff are amazing and can't do enough for you and so friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was room 725 and was quite breath taking. Looking forward to returning to this beautiful hotel again. The location is the best. Thank you
