I don't write many reviews, but this time I felt I needed to comment on the amazing staff at the Crowne Plaza. From the first person at reception on check-in, through to the bar staff and breakfast staff, everyone was friendly, helpful, and they all seemed very happy to be there (not something I find that often in hotels or hospitality). It made my stay so much better because of this. 10 / 10 stars for the Crowne Plaza Christchurch.

Nothing, the hotel exceeded my expectations and I was impressed with all elements of my stay. Modern, clean, amazing friendly staff. There were no downsides to my stay.

central location to everything in the city. clean and great welcome from staff at check in.

upon asking for a late check out for Sunday on Saturday night the gentleman at the desk told me flat out that there was no availability for a late check out. Never asked for room number to even check. Sunday morning I asked a lady at the front desk for the option of a late check out and she asked for my room number and was able to give me an extra hour to check out at 12pm. Bar downstairs needs to be properly managed in the day to accomodate guests wanting to use the facility.

We like the hotel location right in the center of town, close to the Margaret Mahy playground and Victoria Square. They gave us a free upgrade to a junior suite because the room category we booked wasn’t available. Room and beddings were comfortable.

Check in process was slower compared to other hotels or motels we had stayed in. Besides, there were 2 bottles of shampoo provided in our shower, and no shower gel. Housekeeping probably not thorough enough.

The safe were super friendly & sweet, We were given a card & chocolates to congratulate our wedding & that was a lovely touch. The decor throughout the building was nice & everything was clean, We loved tge bar area off the foyer. The speaker in the bathroom was a nice suprise the rooms were quiet we couldn't hear any neighbours.

The bed was just a little firm for us but thats a personal thing & the sound of the air flow system kept us awake that night but again thats because we arnt use to that. The coffee in the dinning room for breakfast was not nice at all we tried both options self serve & barista made & both were unpleasant I think its just the brand they use we spoke wuth someone about it at the time. The breakfast food needs a little attention egg & sausages mainly they were not nice so I think if they just changed them to nicer one, But there was a great selection of other tasty things to choose from.

Great location, Big rooms, overall cleanliness, most staff friendly & accommodating across the road from the tourist tramway stop highly recommended.

The Hotel would get a 10 out 10 if it had a guest self service laundry, a pool and most importantly more training for some of their staff. some staff are excellent and go beyond their duties to assist guests while some staff just don’t want to be there at work and bring down the quality of customer service for this Great Hotel. we were surprised by the lack of quality customer service from the Girl in charge of the Market place morning breakfast & the chef behind the breakfast counter sadly they are not fit for those positions.👎

Overall the Crowne Plaza is a good choice. We enjoyed the hotel's location near a large playground and the restaurants on New Regent Street. Breakfast was great with good coffee and options for kids. The beds were super comfy and the room nice and large. It's also an easy walk to the river and other attractions.

Christchurch seems to still be under a massive amount of construction and rebuilding, which makes it difficult to fully experience/enjoy. Though reception did their best with suggestions of what to do and see around town, it would have perhaps been helpful to have specific information about major museum and site closures. Our room - a suite - looked over a big car park which was not an ideal view (nobody's fault) and the room was also very dusty - so much so that I had to wipe the surfaces down myself to stop us all from sneezing! New Zealand is going through extreme staffing shortages and we put it down to that and moved on. In hindsight we probably should have made a call to housekeeping at the time.

The location is excellent in the city center, close to all tourist hot spots, shopping and dining options. Comfortable beds, big room, good bathroom.

The sound insulation between the rooms is not up to 4* level, it was as if the neighbour was in my room. Noisy bar area and reception, as the hotel receives large groups of tourists. The restaurant and bar area are not very cosy. And breakfast was again very noisy and crowded (until the large tourist group disappeared). The fitness area is not pleasant, no windows, limited equipment and machines, better run in the park.

We only stayed here for 1 night, but would've liked more time here. It's a modern hotel very close to the Cathedral area & shops & restaurants etc.. Staff were great but we can't comment on the food at the hotel as we didn't have time to indulge in anything there. If we find ourselves back in Christchurch, we would head back to this hotel.

When we booked, we specifically asked for twin beds, which the hotel said they could accommodate, but when we arrived it was a double bed, so they had to send someone up to our room to divide up the bed.

I would’ve liked to see a bit more variety for breakfast. The location was great as was the spacious room and bathroom. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

As have stayed before we got an upgrade to the 14th floor - WOW views from there and a lovely room. Enjoyed the fantastic breakfast offering The young man who checked us in, was super friendly and helpful and kind

Cancellation charged for the 1st night - due to sea swell our ferry was 5 hours late sailing and we couldn't make the connection to arrive in CHCH as planned on the Friday - as we were unable to give 24 hours notice we were charged 50% of the total booking, which was basically charged for that whole night - even though we let them know at 8am on the Friday that we wouldn't make it - that's a harsh policy for something beyond our control perhaps 50% of just the NIGHT would be fairer ? - the room upgrade for the remaining night was some consolation though
