You are right in the centre of Christchurch with easy access to everything from sites to the central bus terminal allowing the opportunity to explore the wider area. The bar/restaurant serves delicious food and runs happy hour so you don't have to break the bank to be well fed and watered The room is very compact but well designed and has everything you need. The laundry was equipped with new machines that did a great job in no time. Coins are needed Buses to / from the airport are around the corner and as direct as any other mode of transport (#29)

Second booking at this site due to a cancelled flight. Booked another double. Staff were amazing and flexible as a suitable room had already been cleaned they allowed early checkin due to the unusual weather circumstances. Was a much smaller room and not as spacious and up to date as my previous room but was grateful given the circumstances. A couple would struggle unless you were used to small space. Still had all amenities and bed was lovely and comfortable, clean and warm. Given there was no window in this room the air con was easy to adjust.
Third floor central room was alot louder on this occassion and possibly needed a bit of work doing so it felt like a hostel rather than a hotel. Think you are fortunate where in the hotel you are, as previous stay on 1st floor back corridor was lovely and peaceful. The pressure of getting the room ready meant the bathroom looked like it had been rushed as it had to wipe the waterstains/pee off before I used it.

Great value for money as a solo traveller who didn't want to use hostels. Better value than a private room in hostel, more amenities and cosier. Facilities provided were great, ran great hours and restaurant area was very flexible. Good location from bus interchange and centre of town. For an expensive city this was great short stay location. TIP: Would very very cosy for a couple so make sure you like each other :)

Cosy friendly very well located hotel, very small room but great for one person for a night or two. There is a restaurant and bar on the ground floor that is comfortable with reasonable food and the staff are lovely and helpful. Air conditioning worked well and it was quiet despite the central location.
For what i needed it for, one night arriving late and leaving early it was fine. This is no 5 star hotel, is dated and the decor is a bit funky, but it doesn't pretend to be any thing else. What you get is what you see.

Check-in process was great and the hotel is situated in a very central location right in the heart of Christchurch's CBD. It has plenty of facilities as well, although I wished the check-in staff briefly took me through what facilities there were. It was only until I left that I found out from a fellow traveller, that there was a gym here.
The windows were very small. This was what first stood out to me. My room is a suite, which includes a nice couch area as well as a pantry. However, the bed placement was too close to the wall and I had to penguin through the space with my luggage as the corner between the bed and the wall made a slightly awkward nook which compressed the room space. The room received little daylight, and understandably so. I don't suppose they have a lot of options with views either since the building was built side by side with the adjacent building.

All the necessities were packed in to this small room. Clean towels & pillows, toiletries, Bar fridge, tea/coffee making facilities with fresh milk in the fridge, iron & ironing board. A cafe is available on the ground floor. Very convenient location to travel to and from the airport. 2 minutes' walk to the bus exchange.
When you book through Booking.com you can't expect to get the good rooms. Mine had no windows and the bed was very high. Anyway, in the heart of the city, its value for money.

A hotel located in the centre of the town, one street up the coach bus stop, which is very convenient with you're traveling on your own. The room was good size and the bathroom was very well equipped. The toiletries are super worth trying: I loved the shampoo (amber and something else scent that I can't recall). There's a hairdryer and iron in the room, so no need to ask for those in the lobby - super handy. The bed is super duper comfy. The alarm clock on the bed is quite nice, it wakes you up with light intensity, which is quite nice: you slowly wake up without getting grumpy. There is a laundry in some of the corridors: 4NZ dollars to wash and 4 NZ dollars to dry, 1 NZ dollar soap can be purchased in the lobby. There is a work desk on the room, which I used a couple of times. There's kettle and a fridge so I managed to have breakfast in the room since I bought some bread and cheese in the market nearby.
The TV didn't have any channels, just apps access - so I lived on YouTube videos during my stay. Netflix and other apps couldn't be installed on the tv. Breakfast is quite expensive and not included on the rate, over 24 NZ dollars. It's better to go out for a good high quality coffee on the surroundings.

Location was so convenient for the Bus Interchange and the city centre shops. The room wasn't what I was expecting. It reminded me of a hotel I stayed in Tokyo; small but perfectly formed. The bed is slightly raised and your suitcase slides underneath. But it has a toilet, shower, TV, fridge, iron, ironing board (under the bed), small table, chair and coloured mood lights. It had everything I needed even if it was a little bit pricey in square-foot terms.
I wouldn't recommend for people who don't like small spaces; the lack of a window might put them off. I think that there were some rooms with windows but mine was an "inside" one. Also, the shower is accessed via a sliding door beside the toilet. If you are big-built,(>130kg) then you might need to breathe-in to get through the gap.

Awesome location. The double bed was heavenly. I found the bathroom lighting cool as you could switch it from a normal white to a soft, ambiance-like pink. Had tea and coffee, and four milk ‘pottles’ (?) in the fridge - much appreciated. Overall fantastic for its 10m^2 size.
It would’ve been great if guests could watch YouTube or Netflix on the TV. That’s something Breakfree should seriously consider as I’m sure I’m not alone in the thought.

The room was very compact, but I was travelling alone, so it was a perfect size for me and had a good selection of tea & coffee, a hairdryer, iron and a wee desk area with a stool where I could write up some notes. I had a really comfortable stay.
It was fine as it was just me in the room, but these 'modern' bathroom set ups are quite strange. I don't think I'd be wanting to share a room with someone else with just a glass wall for privacy.
