The owners were amazing and had my room ready early which I really appreciated. The room was spacious and cozy. Clean and well set out. Had very thoughtful amenities down to a pair of scissors which ended up being needed so was grateful for that. The beds were pretty comfy and good selection of pillows. I loved the Elemis products for hand soaps/shampoos etc as they are a favorite brand and such nice quality.

Bluestone on George is exceptional! I would rate it 7stars if allowed!! It is luxurious, sparkling clean and classy. The decor is modern and tasteful and the huge bed is absolutely heaven. There are 3 monogrammed pillows to choose from catering to all tastes. We stayed in a loft suite with sweeping views from the balcony across the City. The room was warm with beautiful soft furnishings. The bathroom boasted a double spa bath and state of the art shower head. The kitchenette was well appointed and stocked with an affordable mini bar. But the piece de la resistance was the washing machine/dryer!! I kid you not….they even provided the detergent. Everything about this property is well thought out and considered. Even the Guest Info in the room is thorough, helpful and so friendly.

The location and also the room set up, from decor to what was provided in the room, glasses etc; the cleanliness and modern facilities were excellent. We also loved the outdoor space to sit in outside the room.

Not something we didn’t like so much but we never saw anyone on reception since we checked in, so it felt unmanned, but we didn’t really need them anyway. We did find the hand soap was empty in the bathroom, which we would have told reception if they were there, but we didn’t feel it warranted ringing a bell and telling them.

From the monogramed pillow cases to the luxury blankets and every amenity you could wish for, the room was fantastic. We loved the platter that we could get delivered to our room, which we enjoyed with the bubbles in the mini-fridge. I didn't have time to try the spa bath, but I will be back for sure - wouldn't want to stay anywhere else now.

The noise from the emergency helicopter landing at the hospital was noticeable but it did seem to stop when we went to bed so did not end up being a disturbance. I saw that the room had complementary ear plugs just in case, but were not needed.

A tasteful, modern and impressive renovation. Many “green” outdoor areas for additional seating flanked w/cultivated statues and sculptures. Linens and a comfortable bed coupled with a caring and fastidious staff made for an extremely comfortable stay.

Nothing to do w/the facility, but there is a hospital in the distance which has a helicopter pad for what appears a shock/trauma unit. Unfortunately it was a busy 3 days w/many take offs and landings throughout the night.

The apartment was well equipped, light, comfortable, modern and extremely clean. All provisions were refilled every day and the owners were extremely helpful. There was a dedicated outside seating area with views and a courtyard seating area as well as a designated, comfortable smoking area. There was a lounge for guests to have a drink and snack in the evening or just relax in comfortable sofas during the day. Parking on site available. It was a 10 min walk into the town centre and not far from the botanical gardens and a bus service outside. All in all we were very happy with our stay at Bluestone on George and would highly recommend. The staff and owners were helpful and cheerful.

It was a steep walk from the street to the building, easier going down!!!!

After a week of travel, it was wonderful to find a washing machine IN THE ROOM, together with a drying rack. No hanging out in the guest laundry waiting for someone to free up the machines!! The whole space was very thoughtfully appointed (shelving, hooks, well-equipped kitchen) - obviously someone (presumably the owners Neville and Sandra) had put a great deal of effort into anticipating the travelers' needs. We had a Premier Studio room with a view to the east over the university - not the most picturesque vista but that's not the hotel's fault. The room was super clean, quiet and the bed comfortable. It was a perfect location for our visit. A 15 minute walk to the Octagon, Toitu Otago Settlers Museum and the infamous railway station. Parking on-site. The Otago peninsular is spectacular, worth a drive or bicycle ride, and if you are lucky you might see some great wildlife. As an aside - Dunedin is the home of Speight's brewery (est 1876) and after a statistically representative sample we are now firm converts to this great New Zealand product.

Advice to fellow travelers. The washing machine has a built in dryer that takes a long time to dry heavy clothes such as jeans. It's not a complaint - just plan accordingly!

This property is a small boutique property and tastefully decorated and painted be the cleanest places I have ever stayed. The room was lovely with a balcony with nice views, the kitchenette had everything you need, the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had heated floors which is a lovely touch. Really nice outdoor spaces as well. Sandra waited up for my late arrival and checked me in which was appreciated. I will stay here again as the room felt so lovely I didn’t want to leave.

Neville and Sandra have built one of the nicest small hotels I’ve experienced. I travel in many countries and wish every hotel was as comfortable, clean, friendly, and welcoming as Bluestone on George. The property is just blocks from the center of town but as it is off the main road, it’s very quiet. The rooms are tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable with quality linens and plush beds. Our suite had a washer/dryer in unit, full kitchenette, beautiful jet spa tub, and king bed. Their hospitality is the crown jewel of the property and you are warmly welcomed from the moment you enter. It is truly a lovely experience.
