Check in with Kelly went very smoothly, at the end of a long day of driving, and she gave us some good suggestions for activities the following day. We stayed in #12, and the upstairs bedroom was perfect for our daughter to have some privacy in the evening; she loved the exposed beams. The kitchenette was small, but well provided with microwave, fridge, and kettle. We found the staff friendly and the location allowed us to walk and explore the center of Nelson.

A strong northerly wind blew through the night and the sliding door whistled a bit because of it.

An upstairs studio apartment to ourselves. Peaceful. Location was reasonable to city. Walkable. Laundry facilities. Kitchenette facilities. Clean, serviced daily.

No control for lights next to bed. Needed bedside lamp. No room safe. Although a fan was provided there was no air con and the room was very hot as the afternoon as sun shone direct into it. No comfortable seats only hard chairs.

Family run motel, both Kelly and Fraser very friendly and helpful hosts, to book for 3 nights I had to book 2 nights in one room then the third night in another but they arranged things so that I just stayed in the one room for 3 nights with no need to move. Basically I had a studio apartment which exceeded my requirements but which I enjoyed all the same. The wardrobe in my room #18 was a real Harry Potter cupboard under the stairs!

Without a car (not their fault of course!) I ended up doing a lot of walking but it was manageable (for a senior) eg to Founders Park and Japanese garden one day and centre of NZ the next. Some people wouldn't like the main road location but that didn't bother me. Roadworks the first day (again not their fault) were a bit of an inconvenience.

My husband and I were particularly surprised at the spaciousness of our unit, with the many rooms to stretch out into. Most importantly the bed linen was fresh and clean and the kitchen facilities are well catered. We also felt very safe and secure in our motel room.

Our motel room was very close to the street, and the traffic noise was a little intrusive at times, but nothing a little double glazing couldn’t block out for future guests.

Friendly and welcoming host. There was plenty of room, an added bonus was a small room attached to the main bedroom for your luggage. The kitchen is also closed off from the bedroom, so you don't have to listen to the fridge going all night. Spacious bathroom.

It was a bit noisy with traffic, but it's on a busy main road so ask for one of the rooms off the road if you like it quiet.

All staff were very friendly and hospitable. Rooms were good sizes, bathrooms were fine and bed was a great size..Rooms serviced daily. Storage room for bikes was appreciated.

Shower rose was a bit low. Would be nice to have facility of Netflix connection or like with TV. Only just enough parking on site.

Lovely spacious room, easy 10/15 minute walk into the city for all the restaurants and shops, but still quiet. It was easy to organise a trip out to Abel Tasman for a hike, pick up from the motel itself :) Thank you to Fraser and Kelly, they went the extra mile for my stay.

Very well run by Frasier and Kelly. They are interested, friendly, welcoming and attentive. This motor inn overlooks a large field which gives a good sense of space and Frasier willingly provided anything we needed. The facilities are good.

I had a problem at Picton with the car rental, then I was late and the receptionist give me a fine of $50. I know I could make a phone call but we were stressed about the car and forgot. I think if you work in hospitality job, you must be prepared for bad situations.

The Admirals Motor Inn is about 15 minutes walk from the centre and we think much better value than right down town. Spacious motels suites, ours had a separate little office. Nice older quieter suburban type area. Great restaurant, Flames practically next door and little French coffee shop just around the corner back to town. A charming part of Nelson, older motel, but clean, roomy and comfortable. Good value. We would choose again
