Very nice personnel, xmas lunch proposed 😋 and it was really good. Nice hostel toi stay, with a nice garden.

Little far from center of Nelson, one neighbor in the hostel who was very very noisy, shouting and singing the whole night! I think that he also drank a lot, because he smelled alcohol and I sincerely did not want to cross him at the entrance. Exception this guest, the hostel is very nice.

The willingness to help and cultivate trust in a customer / service scenario. My circumstances were such that I could pay for an upgraded room but not until the last night I was staying and the owner was very gracious in accommodating this request 🙂. Also her generosity was not unnoticed when the free Sunday breakfast/lunch was provided. Very happy with my interaction with the owner and staff.

The ONLY thing that I can think of (and it's not really anything) but I wanted access to the bicycles that ARE there for use , its only a little matter of the key to the locks being misplaced so this couldn't happen.

Loved Fran (Francis) she was so welcoming and helpful when we arrived here at Bug Backpackers and made our stay very enjoyable. We had a room with a queen bed, and it was so comfortable. The room was nice and big with a lounge chair in it. We had a shared bathroom, and it was very clean. The kitchen and lounge area were great, clean and tidy.

Only thing bad I could say is the toilet door squeaked and in the middle of the night it seemed loud as you are trying to be quite and not wake people. I would definitely stay here again as it was value for money.

The place was very clean, tidy, well organised. My room was spacious and comfortable. The manager Trina was friendly and helpful. When I asked her for a fan so I could close the window, she found one for me. My food didn't go missing. I slept well there.

Maybe young single female should not stay there but it depends on your life experience. Get a single room.

A warm welcome and friendly staff at the hostel, which is cheap for Nelson. The kitchen is good and there's some nice outdoor space. Our room was in a second building, which was well-sized and with a shared bathroom/shower, which worked well.

There was a strange vibe and it seemed that maybe some local and/or long-term residents lived there, it wasn't your usual backpacker vibe. Some people made you feel a little uncomfortable, sorry to say.

Exceptionally good value for a private double room. The vibe of the place is a little odd as there are long term tenants, but they all seemed friendly and harmless enough. Beyond that Fran the proprietor was very friendly and welcoming. This place is perfect for those on a budget.

The staff was great, kind, funny, attentive

Clean kitchen, bathrooms and friendly staff & stayers. Feels very homely. There’s a field opposite the hostel which is a nice place to chill

Nothing about the property. I stayed in a mixed dorm but I didn’t feel unsafe at all. Everyone (lots of long term stayers) were so nice and friendly. Only downside about staying in the 8-bed dorm was you won’t know if your roomies were going to be bad snorers (and I encountered at least 3)

Our room was awesome & nicely set up inside the Villa 😎 It was a good size & the bed was comfy as for us 😊 The Owner: Trina & Staff worker: Frances were really nice & accommodating, which made our stay more enjoyable, thank you both a lot 🥰 Thank you The Bug Backpackers for the great service & accommodation 💯 Would highly recommend as a place to stay as reasonably priced & also it was only a short 10 minute walk into the main town centre 😀

Was a lovely quiet place to stay, and the acting manager was such an amazing woman! I cannot thank her enough for how hospitable she was, and all the people staying made it so easy and were lovely to my kids, and gave us ideas of were to go on a rainy day

There was nothing that I didn't like, it was a nice stay
