The property was our home - literally could live there! Watch out though it can be dangerous - you could just stay there & not explore beautiful Taupō. We had dinner at Sorrento and did the Huka Falls river cruise, both really good. Only 2 nights stay but amazing property.

Everything was perfect the minute we got there the owners were really nice and welcoming. Best place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sacred Waters. Our room was a great size, lots of space with a full kitchen. The bed was comfortable with lovely linens, good pillows and the towels were amazing and extra towels for the pool. It was bliss to swim in an outdoor heated pool that was actually properly heated! So relaxing to soak out there as well as having our own private hot tub with incredible natural hot water. Amazing location - slip out the back gate to walk along the lake front. We were in a road facing room but it was very quiet so traffic wasn't an issue. The underfloor heating kept us warm enough to only wear a t-shirt inside but this is self managing and can be set to whatever you want. Housekeeping available every day if you want it. Management was always available if needed and is doing a great job managing a lot of maintenance.

Yes, it's a little tired looking in places (as recent reviews note), the carpets need replacing and a bit of paint inside would go a long way. But, the new Manager, Bernie, is doing a great job working through maintenance and upkeep and making a difference to getting Sacred Waters back on track. Location, hot water and a comfortable place to stay negated those issues for us.

Cool layout, 2 decent sized bedroom, 1 tiny one. 2 small but good bathrooms. Nice big open kitchen, dining, living area overlooking the lake and a gorgeous view. Huge back balcony with a geothermal tub that can hold 3, and a big dining table. Comfy beds. Long but very enjoyable walk into town along the lake. Lap Pool looked great but didn’t get a chance to use that or the gym. Nice linens and towels.

Thermal control in the bedrooms was a bit difficult in November. They do have AC which I did not use. Tiny windows could open, allowing in nice breeze, but the blinds made noise in the wind, so had to raise the blinds. Were given 2 parking spaces, but they were each small and the steel support between them made it difficult to park with the mid size SUV we had.

Clean facility and close to town. Liked the washing an drying facility available right inside the apartment.

Just minor pieces of feedback. The pool wasn't available for the first 3 days of our stay due to maintenance. The kitchen could do with more pots/pans. The existing ones aren't that great. The 3rd room is quite small, only has space for a single bed and a bedside table. This was ok for our 8 year old..

Cosy apartment with everything we need. Love the beautiful pool. Private walkway to lake front. My apartment has a glimpse of snow capped mountains from the balcony. Would have gone for proper lakefront apartments if it is available.

Only got 2 sets of towels and no beach towels for 4 of us at the beginning and not provided by housekeeping during daily services, apart from the 2 bath towels I requested in person. Not a big issue though.

The outdoor area was huge, had it’s own hot tub and outdoor table and led straight down to the heated pool. From the pool area there is a path the led to the lake. While the unit wasn’t directly on the lake, it offered much more privacy than those that did, yet still had exceptional views.

The parking was a bit tight, but the parks were long and there was street parking just over the road. We tended to park in the garage overnight and parked in the street during the day for easy access.

Worth every penny, the location was spectacular and we had an amazing view. The area was very quiet and (mostly) child free. The mineral pool was beautiful and warm and the mineral tub on the balcony was a nice bonus. Apartment size was bigger than we expected with full kitchen and laundry facilities. Check in and check out were very easy and we didn't have the 10am rush at reception with everyone checking out. We will be booking again!

Underground carpark area was very low and carpark was tight to navigate, we were in a van so maybe keep this in mind if you have a large vehicle/raised ute as maximum height is 2.1m, but having an underground carpark was ideal.

Location was close to local town, restaurants, shops and the Taupo Lake. Very comfortable beds, cosy rooms, fancy kitchen utilities (SMEG) brand and plenty of coffee pods etc. Lovely hosts as well.

Pool was super warm however, not sure why so many mosquitoes floating in pool, most likely drawn to the warm pool water. Would be nice if cleaned out of pool on a daily basis.

Great views from the apartment, and quiet i.e. lots of traffic passing by but we couldn’t hear it! Staff were fantastic - very helpful and polite.

Thought main bedroom bed and couches in lounge need replacing/updating. Only 1 teaspoon in kitchen, given an extra 2 when I asked for more.
