Beautiful! Natural scenery location best in Auga!!!

It’s very old and smells like black mold. If you have any breathing issues this is not for you! Also there’s are tons of steps! If you have any mobility issues this property is not for you!

Stunning hotel—lovely, simple architecture in one of the best locations imaginable. The setting is tranquil, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is delicious. The hot tubs were nice and hot and the cold plunge was perfect for sore muscles after a long day of hiking. It is the perfect place to start a Machu Picchu adventure. Wandering thru the extensive grounds with the eco center staff was a highlight of our experience—we even got to see a new species of orchid that has not yet been named.

The hot water was inconsistent, which I would not expect at a hotel in this price range. Also, when we asked if hotel staff could assist us in getting bus tickets to Machu Picchu, they said they could not help.

Property is absolutely stunning, pictures don’t do it justice. Walking distance to train and bus stations and the most accommodating staff! They held bags on our last day and delivered to the train station so we could wander bag free! *None of the other hotels have this rain forest vibe- definitely choose this one! Food is also spectacular (dinner is included and lomo saltado and tortellini are beyond) and breakfast buffet is everything you could want. Views from the hot tub are magical and the common spaces (libraries, reading books) are pure heaven. You won’t want to leave.

Nothing. This place is perfection.

Everyone I know who had been to Machu Picchu told me I absolutely HAD to stay at Inkaterra -- they raved about the hotel, and it still exceeded even my highest expectations. It was pricey but worth the splurge for my partner's birthday and a celebratory end to our Inca Trail hike. This is NOT just a place to sleep and shower... staying here is an experience. You will not want to leave the property. Our casita was spectacular -- spacious room with a fireplace, and the backyard offered total privacy with a luxurious patio, hot tub, and outdoor shower. The grounds are gorgeous -- I took an orchid tour with the onsite naturalist and learned how the hotel grows and makes its own tea. Don't miss the outdoor sauna made of eucalyptus leaves! Breakfast and dinner are included in the gorgeous onsite restaurant, and both were exceptional. Service was top-notch. I have traveled extensively, and this is truly among the top five hotel experiences I have ever had.

I hated having to leave! :)

This is a dream property. Stunning landscape and more natural fauna and plants than you can imagine. The service is exceptional from the front desk to the spa to the restaurant to the bar. The food is excellent with many options....delicious! Had massages at the Spa with Ykiko and Katy....they were outstanding!! The attention to detail is really impressive. The hotel is a close walk into town. I give this hotel an 11 out of 10!

There are many steps but that is part of the beauty of this property. Not recommended for those that are not fully mobile.

First off, this location is deep in the jungles of Peru. The location is rustic and charming. It's pricey because everything around Machu Pichu is expensive because of the distance required to bring supplies. The rooms are sparse (no kettle for instance) and basic so don't expect fancy (bathroom has dark lighting). The staff is helpful and nice. We got two rooms close together as we were a family of 4. The location is amazing - near the train station and Machu Picchu. That being said you are in the middle of the jungle so it a great property. We got up early and joined a birdwatching tour which was complimentary of the hotel. The birdwatching guide was AMAZING!! We dragged our kids out of bed at 6:30am to go!

Absolutely stunning hotel, with the feel like you are in the middle of a jungle! Definitely on the expensive side, but worth the splurge! We enjoyed the guided, private Machu Picchu tour, as well as some of the free activities provided on site, such as the bird, watching and orchid tour. Our guides were fluent in English, very polite, and extremely knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. The spa facilities were also pretty good and the food in the restaurant was great. Alcohol drinks definitely on the expensive side, so a heads up there.

Everything about this property is fenomenal. From the moment you walk in to the eco tours, their breakfast, restaurant, common areas, and the rooms… they are just the type of rooms you want to sleep in after a long day hiking. Spacious showers, extra large beds, and fireplace. Surrounded by raw nature, extensive flora and endless fauna.

Remember you are in the middle of jungle like surroundings so there are going to be bugs and insects around. The doors could be better sealed to prevent little (and not so little) insects from crawling inn. The spectacle bears need to be taken care off in more depth. We had a sad encounter with the male bear and saw him unwell and seemed to be in pain. no one had taken care of him. He had sores (bad ones) on his leg and his ear.

The hotel was amazing, yes we thought at first it was a little expensive but when we got there we were not disappointed and it was worth every penny. The food was amazing and staff very welcoming. We did get time to do any of the activities that were on offer but I’m sure if like the room and food they would have been great .

Tranquil hotel grounds and very private room/villa. It’s very convenient to the train and Machu Picchu Pueblo. The gardens and trails around the property are amazing. The food was great too.

Due to the setting the bugs are out in full force at night attracted to any exterior or interior light. They definitely find their way inside.
