The breakfast room was beautiful and old - very stately. The people who worked there were very attentive - remembering my hot beverage choice on my second morning. The food was varied and plentiful. The location is right across from the Train station, but somehow on arriving I was on the wrong end of the building and it was a 15 walk dragging suitcases over bumpy cracked pavement. So I ended up using an Uber. Departing the hotel desk clerk was super helpful and I was able to easily find the train and use the kiosk for my ticket. The room was modest as I did get a single - it really was just a twin sized bed so know that if you prefer a larger bed even when alone. I did have trouble finding the Christmas Markets from this location and should probably again used an Uber or learned the trolly system They are all right their coming and going all the time. I would stay here again.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. Nicholas is so kind who always helps us. And even the breakfast staff are always very helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone who are looking for a hotel where all the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room are always clean every time we comes back touring around other cities. And the location is perfect.

There’s only one thing we didn’t like is the fridge in the rom wasn’t cold enough. I hope they can adjusted the temperature of the fridge .

Nothing not to like

Very friendly staff, tasty breakfast and clean rooms. The public transportation card you get at check in is great as well and all buses, trams and trains leave just around the corner. Walking distance to the river and the old town is amazing. The excellent service when I checked out was great - I was offered to have my departure platform checked, got exact instructions on how to get to that one as well as a complimentary bottle of water for my journey home.

My request of gluten free breakfast which I had passed through and gotten confirmed had not arrived with the breakfast staff for the first morning. The rooms were too hot during the night and the airco really loud for a room where you pay around EUR 300:- for one person. And you could hear the trams departing until late at night.

The staff were extremely wonderful & friendly. Very willing to go the extra mile to make our stay fabulous! We were able to check in an hour early & they allowed us to check out 2 & a half hours late. It was so hot out they offered us water bottles every time we passed the desk. Even for our two dogs! Who they treated like royalty with a mat & dog bowls in the room. The free mini bar was awesome! We were so hot when we arrived, it was awesome to have cold water, juice & beer in the room to drink. The free public transportation access, 50% off to museums & 20CHF electric bike rentals were also wonderful perks! I wish we had stayed more than one night!

I booked a room at the last minute as our overnight train from Basel to Berlin was cancelled and we needed somewhere to stay. The room was comfortable and just what we needed, however the best thing was the male staff member who checked us in. He was super understanding of our circumstances and when we left at 05:30 (after arriving at 23:30) he made us coffee and gave us a take away breakfast bag with fruit, chocolate, water and other items - it was beyond what we were expecting and just what we needed in the face of a 7.5hr train journey - thank you so much - we appreciated that more than you could know. Attention to detail like that really makes this hotel worth a 100% recommendation

Nothing - it was perfect for our needs

The property was super well located and the check-in and check out is very easy. They have a mini bar in the room, which is full full of water and drinks. Nice teas and some instant coffee. The breakfast was good and the staff was very nice.

My room was a bit outdated and I didn’t like the carpeting. The bathroom was not really comfortable for two people as it was quite narrow and the toilet was right up against the shower, which was big though. I think I was unlucky and got the last room. It was also a little bit dark as it opened on the street.

Had difficulty with our electrical adapters, but hotel staff had some we borrowed. Breakfast was fine; not recalling anything out of the ordinary.

Difficulty with payment; my credit card would not process the payment but was able to use debit card instead. Turns out (according to my credit card company, which knew about my travels in advance) that the hotel putting the payment through manually resulted in credit card refusal. No idea what that's about, nor do I think that the hotel staff was aware of that issue but mentioning it for any future travelers who might be in a similar position.

Room was excellent. Comfortable with a good seating area and including 2 bathrooms., and all necessary facilities, including a coffeemaker and a mini fridge which was topped up every other day.

Break fast is included in the room price. For the first two days breafast offerings were not topped up. Cold meats were virtually gone, fruit juice bottles were low, fruit salads and cheeses were low. On the third day the regular breakfast server was back and everything was fine.
