Very clean, well organised, great location - handy for shoos and restaurants as well as the metro station. Nice airy, modern feel, as well as having a Spanish vibe.

No down sides!

Absolutely outstanding hotel. The comfort was 100%. Nice warm room. I hate hotels where you cannot open the window and you have to breathe fake air but this hotel is amazing as we just opened the window when we got too warm. Amazing shower! Whoever designed it, knew what you would need to take a proper shower. Cosy seating area in the room. Friendly helpful staff, comfy bed, gym, what else do you need? The only thing is, pre-book the spa if you wanna use it. Although we didn't have breakfast, we decided that next time we defo will! Needless to say, the location is perfect! Only a 15-minute walk from Atocha station, next door to Reina Sofia and 9 minutes from the Prado. We loved every minute and sadly, we had to check out eventually. We wish we had stayed longer.

After moving rooms we found a habitacion we really liked. The staff facilitated that change and we are grateful. In spite of being on a busy street, the windows insulate much of the sound so it was pleasant. We enjoyed the multiple windows and small balcony very much. The metro is literally steps away from the hotel which is a great convenience. Blackout drapes are effective. Front desk staff Javi, Catalina, and Lionel were particularly pleasant and helpful. Housekeeping staff Auris was also very positive and did a wonderful job cleaning our room.

Our first room was very plain and we disliked it. They found us another room which was essentially the same except higher up and with patterned wallpaper behind the bed, it was also a bit smaller, but much more cozy and charming. We were very happy in that room. The negatives were that there was construction on the sidewalk to refurbish the interior of an old neighboring building, and also construction work on the hotel's small roof terrace; both of these made griding noises and vibrations during the daytime. These are temporary projects which I suspect will end soon. Madrid always has a lot of renovation going on.

The location is excellent.the staff were helpful.

My case was delayed from the airport and was delivered to the hotel. I did not receive it until one day after its arrival.

Prime location: easy walk to El Retiro (royal park), Barrio de Las Letras (literary quarter including Cervantes' house), the 3 major museums, Atocha station. You can also walk to Plaza Mayor district. Mercado Anton Martin, Cine Dore and Lavapies district are also right there. Never needed to take subway. Excellent cafe in hotel lobby with wonderful barista. For breakfast walk to Estela Hojaldre for gourmet pastry, or buy fresh fruit at Mercado Anton Martin's outdoor street sellers. Get the top floor (6/F) suites with private terrace for prime rooftop view. The Catalonia chain has a loyalty rewards program - entitles you to early checkin, etc. English-speaking professional staff.

Calle Atocha is a super noisy trafficky street. Construction going on as of Feb 2024 in building next door to hotel (not loud if windows closed). Hotel rooftop bar is closed for winter - rooftop terrace was supposed to be open but it wasn't in the sunny morning we arrived - guests should be able to go there with their key. Toilets in ground floor lobby are backed up sometimes. Rooms may be a bit squeezy if you don't plonk for the largest - check each room class's sq ft before you purchase.

The room (320) was very spacious and had a street view! The Reception staff and Bar and Restaurant staff, and room maids were all so helpful and cheerful at all times! They were the best we have ever experienced, and we are very experienced travellers! A special mention to Isobel (Reception), she allowed us to view 3 separate rooms in order to satisfy our particular needs, and was so patient and tolerant! The Hotel is perfectly situated for bars, restaurants and sight seeing and the railway and tube stations, most are within walking distance!

Although we understood when booking, that the Hotel was in the city centre and therefore toexpect some city noise, it was a little too much for us and we needed towear ear plugs on occasion, but our sleep was NOT disturbed too much! Though the next time we visit (and we definitely willdo), we will probably book a room without the street view!

Really impressive hotel. The staff were lovely, especially the Venezuelan lady at reception. Unfortunately I can’t remember her name but she was so helpful, kind and professional. We got an upgrade and the room was beautiful. It was large, really clean, extremely comfortable bed and with a nice view. The rooftop pool area was also excellent too. Really comfortable, large sun loungers and the pool staff were lovely too. The pool itself isn’t large but it was perfect too cool down in and it didn’t seem to get that busy at all. I’ve stayed at the hotel twice now and it was amazing both times and really good value for the price we paid. Fully recommend this hotel and I will definitely stay here again.

I didn’t dislike anything but I think Nespresso machines in each room would be a nice touch!

Clean new rooms

Nothing particular about hotel, however I was very disappointed with Cristina on reception, who offered us to take our money and leave cause we were very upset that AC wasn’t working in our room. Considering my husband’s health condition, it was very critical, no solution has been provided by Cristina but to take our money and leave. Very shocking behaviour and you would never expect this in hospitality and in 4 star hotel. Considering very high price for rooms.However Christopher and Javi were extremely helpful to us.

The location is absolutely the number 1 feature. Closer to EVERYTHING. Either you walk 10-15 mins to all museums, parks and restaurants or you take the metro( subway). Fast! Clean. Well connected. Aside from the location, the concierges are very knowledgeable and patient. I would always stay at this hotel if I return to Madrid. The beds are quite comfortable and water pressure quite amazing. Rooms quiet! A gem of a find!

Like everything. Did not try their breakfast. There were so many places 1-2 mins walking, that we tried a different one for breakfast every morning!

Appreciated the pleasant and positive check in experience from the staff at the front desk. Extremely clean, very new, and well maintained facilities. Excellent breakfast. The breakfast staff refill every container immediately. Great selection and variety of foods. Lovely breads, omelettes, grilled vegetables, and good fresh fruit. Close to the main train station, public transit, and in easy walking distance to main sights. Quick elevators without the need to wait. Cleaning staff did an excellent job daily. Quiet room with satisfactory air conditioning.

Small room with minimal space. There was very little clearance, between the desk/table and the bed. The heavy chair by the desk made access to one side of the bed impossible without moving the chair or climbing onto the bed. Unable to access any English channels on the TV.
