The hotel is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool was amazing. The beds were extremely comfortable, and although the room overlooked the main street, the room was very quiet. Breakfast couldn't have been any better. So much variety. It is in a fabulous location, walking distance to attractions and right on the main shopping strip. If you want to stay in the heart of Madrid, this is a beautiful hotel.

The only disappointment was that there were no english speaking or subtitled tv channels for us to watch after a day of sightseeing. I think for a 4-star hotel that has so many english speaking tourists, this is something they should look at.

Very convenient location if you want to shop high street brands. Several metro and cafes nearby. Rooms are clean, good size and look new. Overall its comfortable.

Only 2 tiny lifts so had to wait abit longer. I stayed on 2nd floor and used the stairs mostly. The room walls are so thin that you can even hear a mild cough and a child's sneeze from the next room. Can be uncomfortable to some people.

The Emperador Hotel is located on one of the main streets of Madrid which leads you to all the shops and food that you could eat. The room was absolutely massive and had a lot of room than what was needed. The roof top pool was a great way to cool off after a long day of exploring

The room decor is slightly outdated and my suggestion would be to have the carpets removed. The staff at the time of check in and check out were quite rude, not helpful in terms of locations, where to eat, local shopping spots or must see attractions. The bar staff upstairs were super helpful and were always willing to give you some pointers and tips for Madrid. Seemed very male operated as the only females I saw were either the cleaning maids or servers in the bar area. The reception spoke to me in Spanish although I made it clear I didn’t speak Spanish despite speaking to a male customer before me in English.

My room was very small and I had to keep my suitcase on the bed each day to be able to walk to the bathroom and/or use the desk and chair. The shower water pressure was very low and the drain didn't work well. On the second day I reported the drain to the front desk and they had it repaired immediately. The size of the room was a great disappointment and I was told by a staff member that it was because I used a third party site so my room would not be one of the larger rooms. The advertisement on Booking.com stated breakfast was offered--when I checked in I was told I did not qualify for the breakfast included and the charge would be 20 Euro each morning. The staff was very professional, responsive and kind.

A room where I could place my suitcase on a stand on not need to keep it on the bed when I wasn't sleeping.

The location was perfect, the best, so good that I would like to stay at this exact hotel again in the future. Everything is very close to the hotel... Royal Palace, Spanish Square, shopping centers and shops, restaurants, cafes, fast food, metro and bus stops, Sol square 5 minutes away...The room was standard, with a view on the side of the courtyard. We had no view at all. I didn't like it at first, but I tried to see something positive here. The sun didn't come through the windows at all, and there was no noise from the street, it was very comfortable for me on a hot August day of 37 degrees. The room had the best air conditioning without noise. The room was Empire style with vintage old furniture. I like such classic interior, very quiet ...

One chair was - It was too old and unsteady, the first day when my friend sit on - it broke. I called the reception and they replaced me with another one immediately.

Emperador was very nice, we were upgraded to a larger room because the hotel couldn't provide checkin at the expected time. The room was made up and cleaned every day. The hotel was across the road from a metro stop and easy walking distance to shops, cafes, major squares etc, so a really great location. The hotel had a pool which was fantastic considering the current heatwave gripping Spain. The staff were pleasant and helpful and housekeeping was excellent.

It would have been really nice if the pool could have been open to 10.00pm on the nights its scheduled to close at 9.00pm because it was so hot and it was still daylight at 10.00pm. Also, the service around the bar could have been better; we had to go to the bar for service on several occasions.

First room was ok but too small for us. We changed to a suite with a sofa and it really made our stay in Madrid. Had to pay more but again it was well worth it. The roof pool and lounge furniture is very nice and free. The neighborhood never stops from 10 am to after 2 am. Be ready for Madrid, it is a great shopping city and puts NYC to shame ( I'm a New Yorker). There are very good grocery shops all over and one is just a block from this hotel. Grocery store prices are much better than the US. I only wish we had a micro wave. There's a MacDonalds a few doors away and we were glad of that. Chinese restaurants aer about a 15 -20 minute walk away near Plaza Espana. They are ok. Spainish food is great but there is not much variety. Jamon de Inberia,& Calamari make up 40% of it. Coffee is excellent everywhere including MacD. We recommend this hotel if you like to shop which is excellent within a 20 minute radius. Also rooms are very quiet and breakfast is very good. Can't find a better hotel but you can find a less hectic neighborhood.

The hotel has no real liabilities. You won't be disappointed.

We are visiting this hotel for years usually in August so the know the place quite well. REception as always very welcoming and helpful so are the portes and security staff. We stayed in the 8 floor in a refurbished room. Room was quite small but oclean and functional. View not great as looking at court but quiet.

We have come to this Hotel for years once a year usually in August. For the 1st time we had breakfast in the hotel as my Mum who stayed as well has walking now difficuties. The breakfast was disasppointing as not much change in the 4 days we stayed. Same cheese as well as same meat. Same with salad. Coffe machine was decent though. Also cocktail prices are extraordinary expensive on pool bar so were soft drinks! Certain areas on pool areas were blocked in the afternoon for function meaning that sun umbrealls were not availabel what is not great....

The reception staff treated us very well and let us in to our room early at 1.00 pm because it was ready. This was a lovely surprise as not all hotels do this. The Beach Club roof top pool area is huge and gives the hotel a proper resort feel, and a number of people we spoke to from the UK & Ireland just come for the sun and pool and sunbathing at Hotel Emperador. The breakfast was very good. The location was excellent and Atocha Train Station is 10-15 minutes by taxi. A big thanks to the staff and the porter that carried our heavy bags out to the street and hailed a taxi. Great service. Simone & Geoff from Australia.

The Aperol Spritz's at the Beach Club were a bit flat, small and expensive at 11.00 euro each. This was the only fault otherwise a great hotel.

Each & every member of staff we met was courteous, friendly & helpful. Service was excellent. The hotel was very well located for our tourist visit both for walking & especially being a few metres away from a tube station on one of the key metro lines. It's a very nice hotel with a range of facilities - including viewpoints from a Terrace unfortuneately temporarily closed for our visit, thought the rooftop bar was open. Our room was especially comfortable & spacious. As a light sleeper we were very impressed that despite being centrally sited on the bustling Grand Via, there was no noise (the glazing obviously excellent), so quiet. A good breakfast set us up for a day's sightseeing. We ate at Taberna La Bola very nearby off San Domingo Square a very traditional (establishished 1870's) Madrid restaurant which was a gem so close. On departure day we had an hour to spare after checkout & sat drinking coffee in the hotel's very pleasant lounge watching the world go by on the Grand Via.

Everything was very good.
