Location is perfect right at the train station, and they have a parking that you can access directly from the Hauptbahnhof parking and get a reduced rate of 25.- instead of 35.- per day and including in-and-out privileges.

Parking a little small, once we came back and there was no available spot. It's fist come first served. If full it's ok to use one of the electrical charge spots if empty, but not the car rental spots, they don't belong to the hotel.

Location is flawless for ease of access after you have arrived or about to leave Basel. Right in front of the hotel you have a selection of trams and buses that will take you wherever you need. Rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable and modern. You can also find a great place to get some work done which is not always the case even at solid properties. Breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts you will find, definitely recommended.

Privilege of the location can come at a cost of increased noise outside. Solid windows take care of 90% of the noise (trams, people hanging out next to the train station), but expect to hear some during the “quiet” hours.

The location was excellent! The hotel is right across the central train station. The city center (Old Town) was easily accessible by tram. The hotel even provided us with free pass to the tram, anywhere in the city. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The room was spacious and had a couch.

Everything went well during our stay except for the presence of pick pockets lurking in the city. Also, there were three steps going to our room and these made it difficult for us to carry our suitcases. Nonetheless, we still enjoyed our stay in the hotel.

We stayed in room 215 which was spacious and quiet. The location is excellent - literally opposite the SBB train station and there are many tram stops just outside the hotel. The buffet breakfast served hot and cold and was very varied. It’s a short walk to the old town of Basel. We did not have a car, nor did we need one as the hotel is very central.

The decor in the room was a bit dreary.

The location of the hotel across the street from the main train station was great and made it easy to get around the city. The room was very large for Europe and comfortable. The staff were personable and very helpful. The bistro/cafe was great to get a coffee and croissant in the morning.

Like many hotels in Europe, getting the room to a comfortable (cool) temperature is difficult without opening the windows. Fortunately, we had a quiet room (away from the noise of the city) so we could keep the windows open all night.

I like staying at Hotel Victoria because of its proximity to the train station, tram stop but foremost for its ambience and comfortable rooms. Being an o'seas visitor my visits are intermittent but as I visit family and friends, I have lots of the same places to visit and hence the location and connectivity is important. I love the Basel Card that always comes in handy. The staff is always welcoming and helpful and my double room had a lovely ambience. I value the coffee machine although it gave me a bit of grief this time but was replaced immediately. My bathroom was compact but comfortable enough for 1 person. I was offered a welcome drink in the adjoining Bistro which was a nice gesture but never had the time to take it up. Welcome chocolates and a few perks on the back of the Art Basel Fair were on offer too signalling a spirit of generosity.

Complimentary bottles of water had a flip top and could not be closed again. A screw top bottle would have preserved the freshness if only a glass of water is taken at any time.

Staying right next to Basel SBB train station was a real bonus. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfy and had various adapters, which was a nice touch. The hotel provided us with a Basel travel pass, making it a breeze to discover the city and its surroundings. This location was a game-changer for us. We left our luggage at the hotel and headed into Basel city to explore. When our day trip was over, we simply strolled across the street to the train station to continue our journey. This setup made our time in Basel super convenient and stress-free.

We didn't have much time to enjoy the hotel's facilities.

Fraser from the front desk was so very helpful and informative. He showed us how to navigate the public transportation system (we appreciated the free passes from Hotel Victoria) and gave us ideas for places to visit. It was a great added benefit to have someone who spoke English and was so generous with his time and knowledge. We also appreciated the free water in the mini-bar in our room - and were very pleased that our room was so quiet throughout the night. Also loved the close proximity to the rail/tram/bus system. It allowed us to easily get around Basel and other parts of Switzerland.

Frazier (at the front desk) was amazing and so helpful with providing information and assistance with navigating the public transportation system. He had a great energy and was always smiling and eager to help! He made our stay fantastic and we are already planning our next visit!

Everything was great. Would have loved it if we could have gotten a king suite instead of a double bed.

Professional staff and very helpful. For anyone visiting and looking for a place to eat the market place is the way to go many varieties on food great place to eat and walking distance from Hotel.

When we first checked in the room they it was very warm even with the A/C on. They changed us to another room in the back with a not so good of a view but A/C was a little better we still had request a fan to be able to sleep.
