good location, accommodating staff, room with a bath, well maintained and elegant.

100 CHF for 4 persons for breakfast, when we only had a bowl of cereal and an egg. Parking is per day rather than 24 hours from arrival, so I paid for two days rather than one. Join this with the 100 CHF eggs and cereal, and I sank a little south-east at the knee when the bill moment arrived.

While living in Lausanne years ago, I always wanted to try this Carlton hotel. We arrived around 11pm. Very nice location and reception hall. While the room furniture was fine, we received a tiny room, not what we expected. It probably was the last room available (a bus group booked most of the other rooms). The reception was very understanding and presented their excuse with an excellent Swiss red wine bottle and free breakfast & parking. They also promised next time to make up for a larger room.

Having a larger room. This is the reason why it is a 4/5 rating. Without this problem, it would be a full 5 rating.

This hotel is perfect for a stay in the city a short walk or metro ride from the train station right next to the metro station just a couple of stops down to the lake or a few stops up to the old town. Coincidentally also 3 minutes from a lovely Georgian restaurant we had reserved. Our room was lovely and had everything we could need and surprisingly quiet considering we were in the middle of the city.The staff were friendly and helpful I would definitely recommend it .

Perfect location next to the lake. Well connected with the metro line (station is right next to the hotel). Excellent classical look and feel. Loved the design of the room; very elegant. Loved the breakfast too (we had to leave early so took express breakfast which was only 12.5 CHF but was great!)

The rooms are rather small. It says 18m2 but feels like 14m2. They assign balcony randomly so when we booked two room, one got the balcony and the other didn’t. They didn’t mention that during checkin else I would have taken balcony room for my mom. Mom’s room, 115, even has broken tile in the bathroom floor; not a big deal but doesn’t match with otherwise an excellent hotel!

Friendly Reception staff who were very helpful. Restaurant was excellent but expensive.

Beautiful hotel. Very comfortable. The location was absolutely fabulous. Breakfast was excellent and breakfast staff couldn't do enough for you! We definitely would stay again.

The restaurant was expensive even by Lausanne standards and the menu had very limited choice for vegetarians. Alright if you liked peas and asparagus for the starter and main course! This said the staff although later apologetic got my starter and main course wrong, which as only one choice of main course for vegetarians was difficult! There didn't seem to be any vegan options at all.

I can't say enough nice things about the staff, they were excellant..and the free transit pass allowed us to visit many parts of the city without having to hike up and down hills. I believe each room had its own balcony where I enjoyed my morning coffee.

The parking....very little parking available although they did offer parking at another hotel garage across the street. Also there were lots of stairs to climb and some without a rail..not really handicap friendly that we could see. The restaurant was pricey and had some interesting things on the menu, The bar was basically the lobby where the receptionist would go get your drink

The location was near the promenade, and one could just walk there and have stroll. The hotel was classy, the receptionist was polite, and the hotel had parking for our car. The rate was value for money. There were some interesting restaurants and rooftop bars around. (Hotel Royal just across the street had a great rooftop bar with a clear view of the lake from side to side)

The room for 3 people was small(ish) and the hotel had a bit of a self service theme. (no bell boy, nobody to help with the luggage etc)
