100 CHF for 4 persons for breakfast, when we only had a bowl of cereal and an egg. Parking is per day rather than 24 hours from arrival, so I paid for two days rather than one. Join this with the 100 CHF eggs and cereal, and I sank a little south-east at the knee when the bill moment arrived.

This is a traditional belle epoque type hotel. I like this type of hotels. It is well maintanied and very clean. It is located in a residential area, next door to a metro station. It Is close to the lake and also to the central station and the city centre. The free travel pass is very convenient to get around in the very step streets of Laussane. There is marmol all over the place and walls are covered in fabric. My room was not very big and wifi worked all right. The girl at the reception was very polite.

The bathroom was very small. There is not a single european plug in the room. They do have plug converters but you cannot borrow one. They sell it. Not nice. To get access to the Wifi you must provide your mobile number. Not nice either. Check in time is far too late.

We had a 2 night stay in an executive room (very affordable on the weekends) with a balcony and honestly, we could not stop talking about how much we loved this hotel. We could have stayed for a week. It's hard to describe the one or two things that make a hotel exceptional. You just know it when you walk in the lobby and then the room. The room had excellent AC. It had THE best bed of our whole trip. The room got super dark, super quiet at night. Sleep quality was amazing. The bathroom was extremely functional with great water pressure and responsive temperature control. We absolutely loved the balcony which overlooked some trees and another super fancy hotel in the distance. It had adult sized table and chairs to sit comfortably outside - but still had protection from direct rain. We enjoyed wine on it one night before dinner. We enjoyed breakfast on it in the morning. Just a perfect vacation feeling. Then getting to the location of this hotel - again, it's perfect. It's right next to a metro stop. It's half way between the water and the main Lausanne station. You will go in both of these directions as you visit the area and this hotel just kept working out perfect in every way. The front desk staff was great. We did not try the breakfast but it appeared to be a standard high end buffet breakfast for ~20 CHF per person. This hotel was a tremendous value and was faultless in our eyes. We are very seasoned travelers and this is hard to do.

While living in Lausanne years ago, I always wanted to try this Carlton hotel. We arrived around 11pm. Very nice location and reception hall. While the room furniture was fine, we received a tiny room, not what we expected. It probably was the last room available (a bus group booked most of the other rooms). The reception was very understanding and presented their excuse with an excellent Swiss red wine bottle and free breakfast & parking. They also promised next time to make up for a larger room.

There was a lot of noise all day, every day. I think the staff were working in the rooms next to the ones close to the elevator, which caused a lot of disturbance, especially on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

You can't beat this location. It is right next to the subway station which gets you to all the important tourism destinations through the same route. The facility is historical (built in 1906) so the outlook and balcony is very classic. The view is also enjoyable as you can oversee the distant lakeshore line. Definitely recommends!

The cleaning is horrible. The trash was not collected and the bedsheets were not changed. You also need to take your chance with the front desk staff as some are very helpful and enthusiastic while some are indifferent. The Wi-Fi is also unavailable directly that you would have to register online with a credit card (despite no cost but sounds scary).

This hotel is perfect for a stay in the city a short walk or metro ride from the train station right next to the metro station just a couple of stops down to the lake or a few stops up to the old town. Coincidentally also 3 minutes from a lovely Georgian restaurant we had reserved. Our room was lovely and had everything we could need and surprisingly quiet considering we were in the middle of the city.The staff were friendly and helpful I would definitely recommend it .

Location and staff are amazing and helpful. Upgrade your junior suite was a very pleasant surprise, thank you. Electric towel dryer helped a lot for an unplanned laundry.

The room is a little bit worn and dusty. Lack of iron board and iron was a surprise in the morning, however I’m sure that it could be easily requested from reception. Shower head was trying to attack me twice from behind because of poor fixing in the handle - be careful.

Reception staff had a rude guest when we arrived who was making unreasonable and slightly intimidating requests for upgrades and similar. Claiming to be in the industry and wanting free stuff basically. We had to listen to it and felt they were unreasonable and frankly rude and entitled. The way the receptionist dealt with the customer was excellent and didn't just fold. Life is hard for hotels right now and giving free stuff is not doable, I wish people would behave better so young staff are not put in these situations. Well done and clearly a well trained team.
