**A Luxurious Stay at Royal Savoy Lausanne** We recently spent two nights at the Royal Savoy Hotel in Lausanne. The hotel is truly excellent, exuding luxury and elegance in every detail. We appreciated that pets are allowed, as we traveled with our well-behaved small dog. However, despite the impeccable service and opulent surroundings, we couldn't shake the feeling that we didn't quite belong amidst such grandeur. The atmosphere, while sophisticated, felt a bit too formal for us. After our two-night stay, we decided to move to the Novotel Bussigny. There, we found a more relaxed and comfortable ambiance that suited us better. The experience at Novotel was more in line with our preferences, allowing us to unwind and enjoy our stay to the fullest. In summary, Royal Savoy is perfect for those seeking a luxurious and upscale experience. For us, however, the more laid-back environment at Novotel Bussigny was a better fit. Jelena Ostojic

The staff was very friendly and competent The hotel has modern amenities while having lot of flair and beautiful architecture Service is of a different level than more basic hotels We wanted to enjoy Lausanne and after searching for a hotel on booking.com and initially finding Royal Savoy, I liked it so much that I could not actually book anything else despite anything else being cheaper. Having completed my trip, I can confirm that the rooms were exactly like in the picture (we had the Savoy Executive room with Lake view and Spa), and the balcony offered a spectacular view.

I don't have anything to comment here. For anything a guest is missing, they can speak to the friendly staff who would surely find a solution.

Booking a hotel like the Royal Savoy naturally sets high expectations due to its stellar reputation and premium value. I’m delighted to share that every one of those expectations was not only met but exceeded, making my stay nothing short of perfection.

Critiquing the Royal Savoy is no simple task, as a five-star hotel bearing the prestigious seal of The Leading Hotels of the World is expected to uphold the highest standards in both service and offerings. However, as a coffee enthusiast, I found the breakfast coffee did not meet these elevated expectations. A barista-prepared coffee and additional options, such as filter coffee, would have added a touch of excellence. That said, it is a minor detail that, if addressed, could enhance an already remarkable experience even further.

The food in the restaurant was so good. I had the fillet du perch two nights in a row! Highly recommend it. The bar lobby served great snacks as well, I highly recommend the prawn tempura with the side salad, to die for. The staff were very friendly as well. The receptionist Laura was even so kind to walk me to the main road in order to direct me and explain where to get the Metro.

My fault for not asking for a change of pillows, but they were too soft. The rooftop bar/restaurant serves light bites, not main meals.

Honestly it was one of the best hotels that I’ve ever stayed in. The front desk staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing, plenty of options, waiter service and staff at the breakfast were nothing short of the best, specially Youssef he was simply amazing. Ideal and central location. 2 mins walk from the metro station. Their rooftop got the most beautiful view of Lake Geneva and the staff there were super friendly. A reservation is required where you get to enjoy drinks and food with an amazing view. Rooms were specious, got a balcony with either park or lake view. Comfortable beds and the bathroom is a huge plus. I definitely recommend this hotel when coming to Lausanne. Can’t wait for future stays.

Excellent location, well run property, good level of service and deservedly 5-star. The pool area was lovely, even if we couldn't access more facilities as my daughter is aged 11. The team at reception was very good, and managed to secure a late checkout for us as well. The property is in the heart of the city but plenty of mature trees, careful landscaping and lawns made it feel like a haven. A treat of a stay for the two of us!

The bed was advertised as extra wide but it was a regular double bed, and there was sadly no availability for a spa treatment - but we did only book at very short notice, so that is not at all surprising!

This stunningly beautiful old hotel has a modern annex, which is where our room was. Generally we prefer rooms in older part but the modern annex blew us away. The room was outstanding, possibly the best of our three week trip. It was perfectly laid out with the large closet, bathroom, bar area closest to the door and spacious bed/seating area towards the balcony, which meant room was exceptionally quiet. Very well appointed and immaculate with a very comfortable bed and seating area as well as balcony with a lovely view of the lake. We enjoyed spa, which is large with sauna, steam room, cold plunge and indoor/outdoor pool and quite busy. Breakfast was the best breakfast of our trip -- the best coffee, croissants, fruit selection, eggs, and faultless service overlooking garden. We were only here one night on our way from central Switzerland to Geneva for a flight and wish our stay had been longer.

The hotel restaurant was fully booked for dinner so we were not able to dine there and the menu looked amazing. Resto recommended by concierge Brasserie de Montbenon was ok but nothing special. This has nothing to do with hotel; we haven't been to Lausanne in 30 years and I remember it as a beautiful, immaculate city (much like Zurich still is) but now it's appears more French than Swiss with very run down, grotty areas like Paris. We also had a very rude south asian taxi driver tell us we should have just taken the metro to the hotel instead of taxi!

The staff is wonderful—very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and clean. I love the balcony, where I can enjoy my morning coffee outside. There are both indoor and outdoor pools. There is a metro station right in front of the hotel. It is very easy to get around Lausanne. It is a short walk to the lakeside.

It would be nicer if we could access our own Netflix / streaming account. The TV allows us to broadcast from our phones, but it is for Android only. There's nothing too much to complain about. Overall is great!

Wish I could have stayed longer. The room decor, common spaces and breakfast were beautiful with both traditional and modern elements. The rooftop bar has a magnificent view of the city, the hotel is directly next to a funicular station for easy transit, and everything was as I had hoped it would be.

The hotel is slightly out of the way from both the waterfront and the old city farther up the hill, though transit options were easy and plentiful. This is the only possible negative point I can think of - stay here!

Room was nice and spacious with a nice design. SPA area of the hotel is very nice and there was always place for everyone and everyone could find some privacy (we were there in summer). Perfect place to relax and enjoy the day. The hotel itself is very beautiful inside. Location of the hotel is perfect, very close to the metro station and walking distance to the lake. We would definitely be happy to be back.

There is a sky bar at the hotel with a very beautiful view, but we could not enjoy it as we only had time on Saturday evening and on this day it was booked for the private event and this was not mentioned to us upon check in (on Friday). Just if we want to be picky - walls in our bathroom were not very clean, but you dont expect this from the hotel of this level.
